---Yue Ming's P.O.V.---

after the match with Xue Tan Lang Yue Ming did not return to the Yue clan instead she remained to observe the rest of the tournament in order to discover who is the strongest partecipant in it.

The young girl looked with interest at the fight between Xue Wu Xia and Feng Lin and noticed the difference in abilities between the two after a few exchanges. the difference between a summoner who wields two attributes and one that wields only one is way too much considering that the latter also gave himself an handicap.

after analysing the two she decided to ignore the rest of the match since she already knew the outcome.

at that time a man spoke to her

"Ming-er, your match was splendid ! I never thought you could go head to head with that Xue Tan Lang"

"father, it may have been a splendid match but in the end I was defeated"

"don't worry so much, you were great"

Yue Ming knew well that the man she called father was not her real one however since she met him she always called him that and with time he has grown accustomed to it.

as she thought of him her mind wandered to her memories of six years ago

---FLASHBACK---

---near the Yue clan,in a forest---

Yue Ming walks in the high grass and hides from the beasts, she walks silently in order to not be discovered.

Suddenly, a roar is heard in the distance and out of fear she lets out a yelp. the sound is equal to that of a murmur however to the beasts around her it is similar to a melody, the melody of death.

Other roars are heard in her vicinity and she panics.

she knows she won't be able to run nor to hide but she hopes that they will ignore her.

she stays silent and she doesn't move but the grass around her trembles and it causes her to be covered in cold sweat.

in her mind one sentence repeats itself like a broken disc

'I don't want to die, I don't want to die'

she repeats it as if it was a spell.

when she is about to scream a hand covers her mouth and she feels a body wrapping around hers. she doesn't know who he is but at this time his voice brings her peace and reassures her. the voice asks her

"little girl, what are you doing in such a dangerous forest? why are you here?"

it is a simple question however she can't answer, so she stays silent.

the voice repeats itself

"little girl, why are you here?"

however she doesn't answer. seeing as she doesn't wish to answer, the voice asks another question

"who are you? what's your name?"

the little girl thinks for a while and puts her hand on her chin in a pondering fashion.

after a few minutes she answers

"I don't have one, what is yours?"

hearing her answer the man thinks to himself

'why does she know so little? did she lose her memory?'

after a while the man speaks

"if you don't have a family why don't you come with me?"

the little girl's eyes light up at the question and this time she answers decisively

"yes!"

the man stands up and holds her in his arms as they walk away.

since that moment the little girl, Yue Ming became part of the second branch of the Yue clan

Yue Ming stands up from her seat and her father asks her

"where are you going? "

"I am going to take a walk"

the man stays silent for a while and then speaks

"be careful"

Yue Ming listens to her father's words, she then smiles and walks away

---in a dark room---

a man who wears a cloak sits on a chair.

the man is looking at the crystal ball that he holds in his hand. within it the match between Xue Wu Xia and Feng Lin is currently visible. the man looks towards Feng Lin with a gaze full of killing intent.

On the table in front of him there are many papers with the names of the partecipants written on them.

the man talks to himself

"bunch of fools, do you think your positions as the four major clans will have any value when I have finished? Your lowly lives will become the foundation for the revival of the Demon King Ha Xin.Hahahahahahaha..."

while the man laughs filled with madness the eyes of the statue of his "god" are shining crimson red and looking at him in satisfaction

---tournament's field, Feng Lin's private room---

a cloaked figure opens the door and enters in the room.

on the bed Feng Lin is currently sleeping.

rankers possess the ability to perceive all of those that are in their vicinity unless the individual's cultivation is higher than the ranker. Feng Lin is in fact unable to notice the shadow that is currently approaching him.

when the shadow reaches his side it stops for a moment and observes Feng Lin intently.

then it raises its scythe and swings it on Feng Lin's neck. A large amount of blood falls on the now broken bed. after confirming his death the shadow leaves the room.

---Yue residence, second branch---

Yue Ming walks near the forest, she stays silent and observes it intently. after a while she resumes her walk. her thoughts wander towards her "cousin", Yue Yang.

the image of her new "cousin" as he swings his sword left her a very deep impression.

What surprised her the most was not his heroic image nor his strength. What surprised her the most was the fact that she felt the presence of three souls and yet she was unable to see two of them.

Thinking about him, she begins skipping.

she looks forward to see what surprises he will have for her in the future.

Suddenly the leaves of the trees fly over her head. she turns around to look at them and smiles. the wind is heading towards her cousin's residence.
