23 Chapter 23: A minor Blackout
Josh PoV:
I moved back into my penthouse, but also keeping my workstation at my House aka Base of operations aka my castle.
After a few weeks of dating, I asked Caitlin to move in with me to which she happily agreed. I was afraid I was moving too fast but being the angel she is understood me .
Well now I am living the life of my dreams, money , fame , women and superpowers, the only bummer is that this bloody universe is like a dungeon, sometimes you find things you like, and sometimes a mob of a metahuman spawns.
Barry PoV :
It seems my life has gotten even more boring while working as a CSI , with super speed all my work gets done In a flash.
Everyday I walk in here thinking what's out there waiting in the dark with powers that are destructive by nature. All this people with powers using them to commit crime always takes me back to my mother's death. Could they somehow be related but no matter I still can't link them on basis of my hunch.
" Barry , there's a metahuman inside Star Labs, we need help" a voice message arrived to which he replied " stay put, I am coming " with that I ran towards star labs.
I immediately ran into the cortex and wore my suit. " Cisco , I am here just ,suited up where are you" seeing that there was no reply. I went through the camera footage only to find Dr Wells ring beaten to a pulp. I rushed over and moved both Cisco and Wells away and ran towards the intruder to subdue him, I landed a punch on him but at the same time he shot a bolt of electricity towards me and absorbed them back before running away. I tried to reorient myself after being struck something similar after a while. I tried to run only to find myself unable to move any better than an average guy.
I lost all my speed , my mind was going blank.
Josh PoV :
"Cait you're phone's buzzing"I said aloud.
"I m here"she replied while checking her phone. Her little smile was turning into a little frown filled with worry "something wrong" I asked her while looking into her phone.
'Ah ,It's that time huh, Barry lost his speed . What bullshit a little shock removed speed force from him. It's just some mental block that made him lose all his trust in himself.
Just be a chad and get over it.
" Let's go" I said to which she nodded.
Star Labs 30 minutes later
General PoV :
Cisco started running some tests to check Barry's condition and found nothing visibly wrong but could clearly see Barry being almost incapable of super speed.
As Caitlin arrived with Josh , they extracted some samples and started running several tests .
Apparently his body was normal , normal as in human. But his DNA still shows signs of mutation due to dark matter.
Josh PoV :
" it seems whatever the intruder did put your powers to sleep , it seems that you need to jump start yourself" i said after reviewing the test reports .
"How ? It's not like you could just hit me with electricity." Barry asked me
" well that's an angle , maybe in case all our efforts are naught that may provide a new pathway." I said to which everyone rolled their eyes and Caitlin gave me a small pinch.
" Maybe it has something to do with your mentality " I put fort my thought " what do you mean ?" Caitlin asked
"He is fine physically, but he maybe be losing trust in his powers and himself . From what we have seen superpowers are being heavily influenced by the person's emotional state." I explained
" so what he needs may not be an electric shock but a leap of faith " I finished .
"First we need to locate this ' Blackout' if we want him to stay away from trouble" Cisco added
" I agree , that will also be our priority, while Barry will return to CCPD while we search for a solution " Wells explained to which ever nodded.
" Let's go Barry , I drop you" I said and turned to Cait and gave her a little kiss before leaving." I'll see you at dinner".
CCPD
"Barry, take it easy , I know you got a lot of fight in you, believe me I saw since a long time ago , just let go of your unnecessary fear and perform a leap of faith , by which I do not mean jump of a ledge" I said while driving away after dropping him off.
suddenly I hear an explosion at the direction I just came from.
Barry PoV :
why is he here, and I don't even have my powers .
He took everyone hostage so fast . He starts asking for Dr. Wells to come here and ace his fate at his hands. I guess he doesn't know about me.
General PoV :
Suddenly at his impatience started throwing electricity around the place and finally he shot a huge concentration of his electricity towards Detective Joe west.
And he was suddenly shielded by Barry Allen.
Barry PoV :
Leaf of faith huh, I guess no other way. Looking at Joe I couldn't stay put and started moving from my place only to see that I was harnessing my powers.
I started to move everyone to safety and landed a barrage of hits on Blackout knocking him out.
I placed him in star labs jail.
"So got your powers back ?" Caitlin asked " yes " "how ?"
"Leap of faith " I said
" Flash is back baby " Cisco yelled in amusement.
