One Step at a Time

We arrived at Port Harcourt, Nigeria, I thought all this while, we were in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean, guess I made a mistake. So, that means we had been in the Gulf of Guinea all this while. Also, our intel is wrong, intel said the cargo ship will dock and drop its supplies in Somalia but, the coordinate from the previous owner of the ship lead us here in Nigeria instead.

"Port Harcourt, Nigeria never thought we would be docking here."~Ajax.

"Don't we have security on this port?"~Elle.

I look at the port it looks busy as ever, with people loading cargo and stuff. Even though Nigeria with its current political tension is currently all-time high, a lot of insecurity in the region, and on top of that, you got multiple armed groups going around causing instability to the nation, the port, and the city itself function normally like nothing ever happened, no wonder people looked up to Osiris.

"Guess, they manage to change the coordinate before we step on this ship."~Griffen.

"Dammit! Change of plans then it looks like we have to wait for a while."~Gaz.

Minutes later, the entire whole world media are on us, even news helicopters circling. Thank god, Osiris's personnel and both the Nigerian army and polis handle the situation well. We are on the ground near where the transporter container loading bridge things are, as I was standing idly, I could see lots of body begs brought down, by stretchers one by one from the cargo ship. The clean-up is carried out by a mix of Osiris and Nigerian personnel in levels B and C hazmat suits, just in case the bodies carried any diseases. As for the six of us after that, we were immediately taken to the Osiris Facility located near Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria. Lucky for us, we are transported by Synchropter transport, I mean like, who wouldn't want to travel by land which would take us a total distance of 475.60 km (295.52 mi) from where we are earlier, and to the capital itself. Once landed, we all got checks at the medical bay, to insured that we didn't carry any deadly diseases because we are too exposed to dead bodies earlier, for long periods. We got separated, unfortunately, and…Oh, my earpiece is blinking. I immediately place it into my ear.

"Brooo, where you at?"~Ajax.

"Medical bay, I think."~Jackson.

"Oh, you still there? Come join us, we are at the barracks."~Ajax.

"Dude, you know, the facility I'm used to is back in the States. This place is new to me man, I didn't build this place, my mother did."~Jackson.

"Aw come on, how hard can it be?"~Ajax.

"Bro, just share your location."~ Jackson.

"Fine, here's my location, sent. Send me yours too, just in case you didn't get lost."~Ajax.

"YEAH, yeah, done."~Jackson.

I hung up the call. As I walk to Ajax's location, my earpiece is blinking again. I look up at my feed it wrote "Mom". Oh, shit I thought, then I answer.

"Ermm…mom?"~Jackson.

"You guys all right?! Is everything fine?!~Mom.

"Yes Mom, we are fine, alive and well."~Jackson.

Never heard her concern like this before.

"I heard you guys manage to save a young girl and two of our operatives, on your first day, impressive."~Mom.

"But the other we haven't found them yet."~Jackson.

"Take one step at a time, hon. No need to rush, you guys will find them eventually."~Mom.

"Yeah, you're right. We'll take one step at a time."~Jackson.

"So how's Yamashita and Big Fish doing?"~Mom.

"Both of them are in medical care now, at one of your facilities here in Nigeria."~Jackson.

"Ha, I see, good to hear that. Anyways, how is my facility there, is it good? I manage to strike a deal with the Nigerian President to build a few infrastructures here and there."~Mom.

"Wait, really?"~Jackson.

"Yeah, and also I'm on my way to meet you guys tonight, can't wait."~Mom.

"Wait, you here in Nigeria?"~Jackson.

"Well, it's not a crime to visit my son, right? Other than that I got a lot of meetings with officials and governments, and some of them are a pain to deal with. And also interview with the media about the cargo ship incident. "~Mom.

"On the news? That's another PR stunt I can't wait to see."~Jackson.

"Well with very good PR, look at where our company is now. Anyway, I gotta go, meet you all tonight, all right. Love you, Jackson."~Mom.

"Yeah-yeah love you too, Mom."~Jackson.

After that call, I didn't realize I realize I've arrived at the barracks. And of course, Ajax waiting for me outside the door. We then went inside the barracks.

"I notice you were calling someone earlier, who was it?"~Ajax.

"Oh, It's just my mom."~Jackson.

"Oh, your mom calling? Aw, that's wholesome. What you two talk about?"~Ajax.

"Nothing much, family stuff."~Jackson

"Heh? Nothing much?~Ajax.

"Oh yeah, she said she coming here to meet us all."~Jackson.

Ajax paused, I just keep going till I saw the rest of the team chill at their bunk beds. The barracks here are surprisingly spacious, most are bunk beds but, of course, it's supposed to momentarily.

"There you boys are! We have been waiting for you two~Elle.

"Here's a beer you two, chill with us while we think about where these two are."~Gaz.

Gaz handed two of us some beers. I went over to my bunk bed, just to lie down a bit.

"Ajax, can you open the beer for me please."~Jackson.

"Right away."Ajax.

"Oh yeah, Guys my mom is coming tonight."~Jackson.

"Wait what? Really?"~Rina.

"Yup, she just called me earlier."~Jackson.

"No way, I wanna sleep."~Griffen.

"It's just the big boss coming over just to see what's up, no big deal, she just might be checking on us."~Rina.

"Guys, we need to figure out where the whereabouts of our two guys, Elsa Weiner, and Leon Kohler, If we manage to locate where there are we can lunch a rescue op."~Elle.

"The problem is we don't know, all we have to do is to wait for Yamashita and Big Fish to recover then we can ask them if they know something."~Ajax.

"About what? They might as well give us glimpses, vivid or partial info about their whereabouts."~Rina.

"It's worth a shot."~Gaz.

"Guys, can we talk about this tomorrow morning? It's nighttime, I'm sleepy."~Griffen.

As they talk about it. I watch the news on the tablet.

"Breaking news, a horrible sight today on Port Harcourt, Nigeria. A cargo ship from Sierra Leone was intercepted today by the Osiris special ops team at the Gulf of Guinea. Sources say, that it was supposed to be a rescue mission, but turns into a nightmare when the team discovered another truth onboard the ship. 126 victims, only 3 survived in one of the most horrific cases of human trafficking perpetrated by an unconfirmed organization as the investigation is ongoing at the moment. We have a reporter on the scene of the crime tonight. Jeniffer tell us what's going on at this moment."~News anchor.

"Thank you, Rachel, currently, as you can see both the Nigerian and Osiris personnel are working together to investigate and do a cleanup of the deceased. At this time the CEO of Osiris Corporation Madam Roberta Osiris will be joining us this afternoon. Madam, what are your thoughts about this tragic event unfolding today."~Reporter.

"Thoughts and prayers, to the victims and families affected in this tragic event today. I as the owner of Osiris Corporation will do anything in my power to stop this kind of crime to happen again. These 126 victims who died will all remain in our prayers."~Mom.

I drop my tablet because I got startled by Ajax.

"Yo, Jackson stop watching porn. Your mom is here."~Ajax.

"No, I wasn't!"~Jackson.

I quickly got up, and almost spill my beer bottle.
