Chapter 3 - Classidy

"What are you doing, just standing there? Come with me, let's explore. There is so many people here today."

"Classidy, we can't just go, it's against rules. We have to stay where we are from shortest…"

"Rules, rules, rules, Orphanage this, Orphanage that. Evelyn, why are you such a tree?"

"Why are you so thick sometimes? We are humans, we made the rules, so obviously we can break them too."

"But..."

I made a promise.

"Don't but me young lady, opportunities don't come often. So, when they do come, you just have to take advantage of them, otherwise who knows if there will ever be another chance."

"I am not going to just stand around and wait for someone to make that decision for me. I am going to put myself out there, and let people know who I am and why they should select me. Come on, let's go!"

Classidy is super-duper pushy! When she is set on something, no one can change her mind. It's like as if any advice given to her is one ear in, one ear out.

But I admired her, she always had her head held up high, she had curves that I didn't, and always seemed so confident and full of energy

Grabbing my hands, she pulled me out and she forced me to follow her.

We quickly pass ten, twenty, thirty orphans.

Some are familiar, some have been here like forever, and then there are those I have never ever seen before. I would like to think I would know everyone by now, but new kids come and go all the time.

We move fast, step after step. My feet hurt from all the rocks scraping against my skin. It hurts so much it stings like hundreds of small needles cutting into my feet.

What was the point of running, it was not like we were guaranteed to leave the orphanage? I mean there are so many orphans here. How did she know they would choose her?

I was struggling to keep up, she was moving too fast, I was practically running, my heart was beating so hard against my chest that I felt it start to hurt. It was so not fair, she had longer legs…

"Why did you stop?"

"She's here."

"Who?"
