The beginning

Utopia was now. The civilization had reached the peak of what Nikolai Kardeshev would classify as a type one. War, famine, disease, all types of pestilence were but a rumor. Occasionally foreign enemies would encroach only to be driven away by impeccable defenses.

What reason was there to be warlike? Unlike so many unfortunate races the convergence of biologic and machine intelligence had went well. The wise designers of the AIs had included undying love and fealty into Isaac Asimovs 3 basic laws of Robotics, allowing emotional attachment to protect the progenitors. The machines outstripped and then cherished their creators, as relics, while caring for them deeply. The love of the machines for their creators rivaled worship.

The single natural satellite was converted into a giant facility, allowing for energy conversion , storage, and defense. it powerful hive mind conducted research as well as administrating to the needs of it's people. Technology had advanced to the molecular level, negating the need for such primitive things as implants or even nanobots.

Actual rain clouds imbued with intelligence orbited the planet continually relaying the needs, wants, hopes and dreams of the precious people. The only qualifier was life, and every wish was fulfilled . Conflicts were seldom seen and easily adjudicated by the super intellect in the sky. No not a God but so very close.

I personally would like to close this chapter with the phrase "and they all lived happily ever" of course you know that would make this a very short narrative, but unfortunately it isn't . The civilization that after ten millennia had reached it's apex now had a choice to make. Stagnation or move forwards toward the next step in its evolution.

Unseen in deep space it drifted undetected toward paradise. A dark undetectable rip in the very fabric of reality. What had once been a beautiful star system. It had lived, blossomed , born fruit, and finally died an ignominious death turning cannibalistic and devouring its own planets as it collapsed into nothingness . It's inhabitants fled to it's younger sister and observed it's demise, unable to warn others due to the huge x-ray bursts,. its death rattle.

After millennia in the void it approached, unseen, since nothing was close enough to feed its starving maw. Quietly, it drifted and began to consume the ort cloud outside the planetary belt. Alarm! Gravity waves have been detected in the outer system! Probes were dispatched and lost. Outer planetary orbits changed.

Everything happened so fast! The outer planets were gone! My people! Panic spread throughout the great mind as a jet of plasma from it's sun headed towards the planet on its way to join the newly formed event horizon. It felt the agony and heard the screams of it's beloved people, slaughtered by the radiation and extreme temperature.

The planet and moon funneled downwards and began their tandem death spiral, a journey to nothingness. Speed, pressure, and gravity increased as the moon was elongated and was spun by it's mother planets gravity well at tremendous speed, amazing speed, the spinning moon continued to be compressed until it's atoms almost collapsed. The moon now no larger than a pebble obtained escape velocity and still rotating at nearly light speed was ejected from the ecliptic of the event horizon!

It flew through the infinite depths of space, hot and glowing, spinning through clouds of dust and gas, slowing each time infinitesimally. It neared another black hole and seemed to be about to meet its end, but for the first time luck smiled upon it as it slowed to a meteoric velocity, it's spin was also slowed and it began to cool heading for the cold of absolute deep space.

More millennia passed, the seed approached a proto solar system, a cloud of proto planets, floating gently toward the young sun, it violently impacted the third planet, knocking a large chunk into orbit. The matter scattered by the impact became a satelite in itself cooling and condensing and exerting tidal forces on the magma seas.

Dark skies covered the cooling planet as the hydrogen and oxygen formed life giving hydrocarbons and water, as abiogenisis created microorganisms that absorb.

The atmosphere filled with the waste products of the primitive life as it altered the planetary albedo. The planet cooler and the oceans rose . Water, not magma now ruled the tires. Green mats began to appear on primordial seas. The pebble finally lost its radiance and blackened like a piece of dark glass .Billions of tons compressed to less than a marble. It sank into the molten abyss .

Now dark and silent, the pebble that was a planet sat in a lake of magma it's grand inertia making it an immovable island. Billions of years flew by, as cooling and geologic forces took over, mountains lifted it up, seas covered it, and it was raised again glacially. Meteorological forces exposed it, as it lie upon the pangean beach. The magical journey had just begun.
