11 Camp Assault I

"I aum Woy"

"I aaaammm R-r-r-r-oi"

"I am Roy"

"BUHIHIHI" Roy belched out in excitement, startling Solus.

Tilting her head toward him, Roy pointed to himself and said once again, "I am Roy."

He repeated the sentence a few more times, before smiling and laughing once again.

'Finally some major progress! God this is so frustrating not being able to properly speak, but the feeling of achievement is fantastic!'

"Ssss-o-l-l-l-usss"

"Soluuus"

"Sooolus"

After some more practice Roy finally managed to get out Solus' name.

Pointing at himself once again, Roy stated:

"Roy"

Pointing at Solus he said:

"Solus"

With a bit more practice to make it sound more fluid, Roy decided to end speech practice for the day, and begin his journey once more.

Standing up, he collected his gear, then left the small dirt cave.

'I think it's time to change your compost bud, I'm sure it's full of waste.' Roy thought as he looked at Inbellis' mobile home.

After carefully removing Inbellis and setting it on Roy's shoulder, he dumped the contents of the container.

As he walked to the river, Roy began to collect and fill the container with 'fresh' decomposing plant matter. When he arrived at the river he took some water for himself and Inbellis, before following the river upstream.

...

'Since I can't really rely on bugs anymore, I'll need to start hunting. The issue is, I have no idea what I'm doing! I really want to evolve soon, this body won't be usable in direct confrontation, though I do have Solus to tank now... No I can't rely on a newborn to fight for me!' As Roy continued his inner debate, he noticed something he didn't expect to see up ahead.

'A goblin camp! Holy shit, gotta hide!' Roy freaked out and grabbed Solus' hand before running to the bushes on the side. After making sure he wasn't spotted, he wiped the sweat on his forehead.

'1,2,3.. 12' Roy counted the number of goblins that were visible from his position. 'Are these where those other four goblins had come from?' Lightly panicking at the number of goblins present, Roy looked back at Solus. Seeing her cute puppy face, he started to calm down. As he pet her head, he came up with a battle plan to attack the camp.

'I should definitely wait until nightfall, a situation where they are all awake is absolutely impossible for me. I also need to do some reconnaissance to make sure there are no prisoners, if one notices me and alerts the goblins we're screwed...'

As Roy continued his plan, Solus began to lightly growl. Looking back at her, then the direction she was looking, he noticed two goblins that seemed to be going on patrol. Patting her head, he then put a finger over his mouth telling her to shush.

Crouching in the bushes out of sight, Roy took his food basket and mobile home off, and pulled out his hatchet. Waiting patiently for the goblins to pass them, Roy crept out of the bushes soon after.

Waving his hand at Solus, he pointed to the goblin on the left for her to take out. 'Hopefully we can time this well...' Roy thought as they had fully prepared. As he raised his hatchet, ready for a diagonal swipe, the goblin suddenly turned around.

'Shit!' Panicking Roy fiercely brought the hatchet down as the goblin stared at him with widened eyes, prepared to scream to his partner.

*Putshiik* The hatchet hit its mark and fully decapitated the goblin. As its head flew, Solus came and dug her sharp nails into the other goblin's jugular, ending its life in a gargled fit.

*Whew*

Breathing out a sigh of relief, Roy hid the bodies in the bushes before collecting his gear and heading to another spot to scope out the camp.

Finishing off the last few bugs as they waited for nightfall, the two were staking out the camp of goblins. From what Roy could observe, there were only ten goblins left. This number needed to be taken with a grain of salt though, in case more patrols were out. He also noticed a small fire with a dead rabbit being roasted on top.

'Oh god, I want that sooooo baaaad...' Roy desperately stared at the roasted rabbit. He knew it would be impossible to eat it, as there was no doubt they would consume it before they slept.

Looking at Solus, her nose was twitching at the scent of the delicacy before her. Roy had to pat her head and shake his own letting her know that it wasn't fated to be...

...

After the bastard goblins consumed their delicious dinner, Roy watched as all but one goblin had fallen asleep. The only one conscious was also nodding off.

'Perfect, seems I can kill these meat eating bastards even easier than I thought.' Roy sadistically smiled, jealousy consuming him, much like the goblins consumed their rabbit.

Setting his gear down, he pulled out his hatchet. First he checked to make sure it was at least sharp enough to one shot the thin necked goblins still. 'Good enough, maybe I should grind it on a rock to get rid of some of this rust? That would probably chink it, but I am using it as a weapon so maybe that's not a bad thing.'

Quietly creeping over to the camp, Roy first decided to take out the guard. Watching his steps and making sure there were no twigs or branches that would alert it, he sneaked up right behind it swinging his hatchet directly at the neck of the goblin.
