"Hmm. My fatigue is quite high."

Although his fatigue was under 50, it worried Elijah that he wouldn't be able to move once it hits a 100.

That sounded unrealistic if he couldn't move at all just because a number reached 100% but the System itself is ridiculous.

For starters, he should have been dead already. Even though he had skinny arms and legs, he was as strong as an amateur bodybuilder.

'AP: 13'

'Nice! I'll get back to that later.'

The reserved ability points meant he would be a lot stronger than he was before. He couldn't wait to see it, but he wanted to allocate his points after seeing what his skills were.

'Goddess of Fortune's blessing (luck boost)'

"I'm supposed to get 100+ luck, then why have I been beat up left and right!"

Much to Elijah's complaint, good luck doesn't always mean that good things will come in beautifully gift-wrapped boxes.

"Well, I guess I leveled up quickly in less than 30 minutes. Maybe the System wants me to level up as fast as possible?"

'Pain Reduction: 50%'

"Whoa 50%?"

Elijah thought he didn't feel the difference at all. It still hurt a lot, but he's always had a lower pain tolerance.

'I should be grateful then.'

He only hoped that the pain reduction would reach 100% so that he wouldn't be hurt anymore.

'Arbitrary threat level detector lvl. 2 (maxed) -show info-'

Half of the description of the skill changed. The changed parts were: Displays the threat level of beings within a 5 level difference of the player's current level.

The bunny and skull icons still work the same.

'Bite resistance: 50% damage reduction to bite attacks '-show info-'

Elijah also expanded the show info on this skill.

Bite resistance

—The flesh remembers more than the mind does. Imprints of their teeth engrave the memories and pain of the flesh. Repeat abuse has made your body tougher for the next experience.

'Okay. That sounded morbid.'

Yet, Elijah was very satisfied with this powerful passive skill. He could even fight a creature a few levels stronger than himself if its major attack is its bite.

'Troll King's clotting factor: Immune to natural bleeding.'

"Why do I have the Troll King's clotting factor? Am I… normal?"

Anxious thoughts went through his mind like cars on a highway. Did he possess the clotting factor of a Troll King? Does he have the Troll's blood in his body? Is he even human to start with?

'Relax man. It's just a skill name. Just like the Goddess of Fortune's blessing. It's not like she's actually real-'.

*Knock*

"Ow!"

Something small hit the top of his head.

Elijah saw a little pebble bounced and rolled across the ground. He looked up and saw nothing unusual.

'Heh, what are the chances of that?'

Troll King's clotting factor

—Open wounds clot quickly to prevent the status effect [bleeding]. Cannot defend against magical effects or higher-level skills.

"Hohoho! Nice!"

The System is magic! With just this skill, it guaranteed him to survive in any injury relating to massive bleeding if he didn't die by the first strike.

He felt almost invincible. If he had this skill earlier when the truck hit him, he wouldn't have died.

'Fist of Fury'

—It ignites Your spirit. Fury coalesces into your furious fist for one powerful punch.

This was the only active skill he had, and it seemed fairly strong although the condition to activate its full power wasn't easy. Elijah was nervous in the battles he had. He wasn't like Hachirou, the father of the two boys who could channel his anger so easily.

This must have been the skill he used to one-shot the mother. He was mad that time because he had thought she was in trouble and wanted to help her, but didn't think she would stab him in the stomach with a kitchen knife.

He wasn't sure how angry he should be to activate the skill, but fury is a strong word. If it filled the dungeon with scary monsters, he might not bring it out at all because of his fear.

He could understand the condition was a way of balancing such a powerful skill.

This skill encourages a strength-build. The higher his strength stat was, the greater the effect of the skill.

25% of 100 was 25. 25% of 1000 is 250, 2500, 25,000 and so on. The damage output grows exponentially as he grows stronger.

This skill has high potential and since it was given to him on the first day, it might even be his core skill.

'Light spirit'

—Summon a pure spirit of light.

"Summoning magic?"

Elijah's lit up into stars when he realized he could use magic and summon a spirit. What Elijah wanted more than being a hero was to have magic powers. They were too cool!

This spell was available because he had some points into good karma.

There were few items in the Shop, but the System made sure that they were all the items that matched with the environment. Just like how the torch he was holding is an essential item to see in the dark.

It was likely that the "light spirit" can illuminate the dark cave.

Elijah didn't wait and cast the spell.

[Insufficient mana]

"Ah."

MP: 0

Well, no sh*t.

Elijah eyed the intelligence stat.

Although when he first played an RPG game, he had thought that increasing intelligence meant making the PC smarter. He later found out that increasing the intelligence stat raises the mana point (MP) cap.

His eyes moved to the other empty stats.

Agility: 0

"Speed…"

He hadn't used it at all but speed was important in closing the distance quickly in a fight, dodging attacks, and running away when needed.

Elijah remembered getting hit like a punching bag in his earlier fights. If he was faster, he would have dodged those attacks and reduced the amount of damage he received.

Elijah was standing in the center of a circular cave space that branched off into three passages. He estimated the diameter to be a few tens of meters.

He moved to one end of the wall and sprinted across to the other. Then he sprinted back to where he was.

He put in 5 agility points with no hesitation and sprinted across and back. He ran much quicker than he had ever run before!

Author's note: Excluding the status screen and repeat skill texts- word count is still over 1000.

I got obsessed with the details which slowed the pace down, like trying to be too accurate with numbers. I made a list of monsters and their levels. Anyways now that's out of the way, lets have some fun!
