132 Checkmate Again

In sensei Ichigorou’s makeshift sparring room in his house, the 2nd and 3rd top Kendo students in Hikaru’s class, Giichi and Aito were sparring one another.

Sensei Ichigorou spectated on the side and often gave them pointers.

“Aito, I keep telling you to stop attacking so quickly. You need to work on your counterattacks,” Sensei Ichigorou scolded.

“Yes! Sensei!” Aito agreed enthusiastically.

“Giichi, your posture is good, but you keep giving up on your footwork when you get too excited. The best strike is with your footwork.”

“Yes! Sensei!”

Although Giichi replied with vigor, Ichigorou could sense his impatience.

Aito wasn’t talented, but he always picked himself up and diligently learned his mistakes. Giichi was talented, but he was stubborn.

Ichigorou sighed.

Hikaru was the perfect combination of them both. He could learn moves and execute them perfectly after watching it twice.
