5 Chapter 5 - Crazy Knife!

Time keeps moving. The night is getting dark. Mai decided that this was the right time to start the action. She slowly opened the door so that no sound was made and went outside her room, holding a knife in her right hand. Mai decided to cover the knife with her ability as well, for now, so no one could see it when she walked outside. Usually, at this time, only the caretakers on duty weren't in their room and she planned to follow them.

She looked around but there seemed to be no one in the second-floor corridor. 'Maybe they are still on the first floor,' thought Mai to herself. So she decided to go down to the first floor.

As she descended downstairs, she saw a light coming from far away. She could see it was Bic, walking down the hall holding a lantern. Her eyes could see from a great distance due to the increase in her physique stats.

'Looks like there is only one caretaker patrolling tonight,' thought Mai. 'That makes it easier!'

She quickly ran behind Bic. She didn't have to worry about the sound because she didn't make it at all while she was running. She then followed where Bic going. As for Bic, she didn't felt anything wrong at all. Of course, if she felt even a tiny bit of goosebumps, that's meant Mai's ability was fake. Her ability didn't literally make her invisible though, the world can still see her, but they just can't seem to notice her, just like the mirror in her room. So it can simply be said, they can't see her.

Bic just continued her patrol and opened the door of a nearby room that she hasn't checked yet. Mai thought it was her chance, so she quickly slips through the half-opened door with her tiny body, facing sideway. She almost falls after doing that, but she quickly balanced herself.

Mai then absorbs the unconscious aura surrounding her knife so other people can now notice it. She held it in front of her, the tip of the knife facing upward toward the ceiling to make it look cool and majestic.

When Bic saw the flying knife, she quickly shouted at the sleeping children inside the room to wake up and run out of the room. Mai just nodded to herself. 'Bic really is a nice person after all,' thought Mai. But then, just as quickly, Bic ran away from the room without looking back. Mai smiled wryly. 'Well, it's Bic just being Bic, I guess...' She didn't have any disappointment toward Bic. She also thought it was a logical thing to do.

The children that were just asleep before started to wake up. Mai just stood there, contemplating what to do next. And then, an idea hit her head. From other points of view, the flying knife started to move wildly. As for Mai, what she was doing is...

"Sword skills, Aincrad-style!" She said in a flat tone, which can't be heard by anyone, while moving the knife randomly, ending it with the knife over her shoulder. It's obviously not the real one. However, it managed to terrify the children, and they start running away from the crazy flying knife. Mai just stayed there looked at the kids who distance themselves from her. She then slowly walk to a nearby wall.

'I'm sorry, everyone... Fufufu~' her knife moves so fast and...

*Slash!*

A large cutting mark was made on the wall. This is what's called destroying other people's property. It's for the proof. She made it so that others do not think that what happened was a dream. She looks down at her knife, it looks broken.

'Well... I think it can still be used, somehow...' She chooses to keep the knife. She'll keep it appropriately hidden so that no one would know where it was. Now that she was done, she decided to quickly go to her bedroom to sleep. She couldn't wait to see everyone's reaction tomorrow.

It was morning. Sun-chan decided to visit Earth-kun once more. They were childhood friends, even now, they still played together. The humans didn't know until how long it will last.

Mai still sleeping comfortably on her bed. She was awake when she heard someone knocking on the door of her room. She quickly stood up from her bad and wobbly walk to the door. When she opened the door, all she can see is Bic's face.

"After you have done take a bath, go down to the main hall. Do it quickly!" Bic said before she turned away.

Mai just remembered that she hasn't changed her clothes ever since she got her memory yesterday, she hasn't taken a shower either. She sniffed to herself, she smelled bad but not that bad. She took clothes from the wardrobe and then came out of her room to go to the bathroom. There are three bathrooms in the orphanage, one for boys, one for girls, and the last is for the caretakers. There are also multiple showers in one room. After she got into the bathroom for the girl, she started to {Cencored}{She's a loli}.

Mai then finished taking a shower and she too had changed her clothes. She put her dirty clothes on top of the washing machine and ran away. She then went to the main hall, where there are already many people waiting. She also waited there until all the residents of the orphanage came.

While they were all here, the head of the orphanage began explaining what happened last night. She didn't need to use a loudspeaker because she had a voice enchanting quirk, just like Voice Hero: Present Mic, but way weaker. That's what makes others do not dare to be scolded by her. We were told to be careful and report if something strange happened again. She also said to the caretaker to increase patrols at night.

Mai's mind was elsewhere, she didn't need to hear all this because she was the culprit herself. Even when there's an increase in patrols at night, it really makes no difference for her when she's in action. After the announcement was over, they all had breakfast.

When she's back to her room, Mai asked the system. 'My dear Ai-chan~ do I get a prize for what I've done last night?'

'Alright!' Mai then began to focus her mind and then it appeared.
