22 Chapter 22 - Bullying Bully!

Recess time was over. Mai spent them strolling around U.A. Highschool at random, by herself. She didn't want to make acquaintances with the other candidates. The way they stared at her was similar to looking at an animal in a zoo.

Right now, Mai was inside a large auditorium with all the candidates. Inadvertently, on her left sat Izuku Midoriya while to the left sat Katsuki Bakugou. She has pretty much prevented war and destruction.

Mai can discern that Bakugou's face was full of animosity when he saw that Midoriya was still attending the entrance exam. She also notices, when he sees her sitting between them, he keeps his rage inside. Mai was pleased that she could prevent him from throwing his stress over at Midoriya.

"Hey, you! Vigilant woman! Let's change seats! I want to sit next to him!" Bakugou harshly said to her. Mai just shakes her head gently.

"No can't do. I already considered this chair as my own bloodline. There's no way that I would give it to you..." Mai declared with a flat tone while caressing her seat. "Also, I saw that you pushed this boy for no reason this morning. That was a bad attitude as a hero, you know?" She then shamelessly said while pointing at Midoriya, even though she did the same thing to a girl, previously. Well, not that she wanted to be a hero.

"Why would I care?! He's quirkless anyway!" He shouted out loud, bringing tons of attention from other candidates toward their conversation.

"So what if he was quirkless?" Mai asked him with her usual flat tone, ignoring all the eyes that were set to them.

"What else could that be?" Asked Bakugou sarcastically. "It meant he's trash!!!" Midoriya's heart was hurt when he heard his childhood say that. But then, it was all washed away because he remembered all his hard training with All Might on the beach. He believes that it will all be paid off.

"Then, what about you?" Mai asked again, ignoring what Midoriya felt.

"Me? I have a quirk, and a strong one at that!" He answered her arrogantly.

"So what?" Asked Mai once more.

"That means I'm different! So don't lump me with him!" Said Bakugo with bloodshot eyes.

"So what?"

"Huh? What do you mean?!"

"So what?"

"..."

"So what?" Mai asked the same question over and over. It was one of the methods to win against brats. That is, being an asshole in a conversation. Actually, she could just do things seriously and easily win the argument, but she thought that will only waste her effort. Why would she bother doing that if she could just say something simple and get better results out of it?

But Bakugo wasn't your normal brat. Even though he cursed all the time and his appearance looked like a delinquent, he was actually quite smart. There's no way that he didn't realize what Mai was doing.

"F*ck you, b*tch! Is that all you can ask? You're so stupid! Can't you say something else?" He asked loudly, railing everyone's attention once more.

"..." Mai intentionally stayed silent.

"What? You bit your tongue or something?" Bakugou asked smugly. He believes there's no way that Mai could make a comeback from that.

"So what?" But Mai just stomped on him with the exact same words without any shame at all.

"ARRRRGGGGHHH! I'LL F*CKING KILL YOU!!!" He screamed out loud.

"Oh, then try it..." Mai taunted flatly. But of course, he wouldn't do it. The candidates were restricted to fight with each other while the exam was happening. If they do, their right to run the exam will be revoked.

[Host, that was outstanding! You're so cool!]

'Fufufu~, didn't I?' Mai telepathically boasted to the system. Of course, nobody else heard it.

"You guys, please stop fighting..." Said Midoriya meekly, but he was being ignored by both of them.

While Mai didn't care if she could join the U.A. or not, it wasn't the same case with Bakugou. Being a hero and becoming number one surpassing All Might has always been his dream since he was a little toddler. So, he wouldn't risk it just for a chance to blast Mai in the face.

"Hey, you two! Stop what you're doing and take a look at the stage!" Someone reprimanded them, Mai took notice that the one who did it was a boy who had short dark blue hair and was wearing glasses. He also wears a serious expression on his face.

Both of them decided to glimpse at the stage. There, they can see the Voice Hero: Present Mic, just smiling wryly while waving at them. They then decided to stop their confrontation.

"Hmmph!" Bakugou harumphed then looked away from Mai with his hands crossed. While for Mai...

"Ehe..." She said that with a flat tone. For others, it still sounded cute for some reason. But for Bakugou, it was like she was still slapping him in the face, mentally.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN EHE?! ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!" He shrieked in agony while pulling out his hair. It looks like he has already gone insane. He really wants to use his quirk. His saliva even came out of his mouth and hit Mai's face.

Mai was lucky that she wore a mask. She just wipes it using her witch hat. She did that because the equipment bought from the system shop has an auto-cleaning and auto-repairing enchantment. She'll pay him back for this humiliation.

Also, the poor boy who sat behind Mai can just sigh dejectedly when she put her hat back on. He didn't dare to get mad at her. He could only tilt his head whenever he wanted to see the hero teacher on the stage.

"Well, let's just pretend the thing earlier was never happened. All right, listeners! I'm here to present the guidelines for your practical exam!" Said the teacher, Present Mic, with gusto.

"Are you ready kids?!" He asked.

No one answered...

"I can't hear you!"

Silent preoccupied the auditorium...

"OOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!! Alright, this is how the test will go, my listeners! You'll be experiencing ten-minute-long mock cityscape maneuvers'! Bring along whatever you want! After this presentation, you'll each head to your assigned testing location!" Present Mic exclaimed, ignoring the fact that nobody had responded to him earlier.

The screen behind him lit up and showed a diagram with a large box, with various lines connecting it to smaller boxes tagged A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.

"Each site is filled with three kinds of villain robots! Points are awarded for defeating each according to their respective difficulty levels! There are one-pointer, two-pointer, and three-pointer..." Present Mic explained.

"Use your Quirks to disable these villain robots, and earn points! That's your goal, listeners!" Said Present Mic. He then took a glance at Mai and Bakugou duo. "Of course, attacking other examinees is prohibited!"

"Furthermore, before any of you guys raised a question, the fourth villain robots were a variety that gives you zero points! It's more of an obstacle! There's only one at each site, a 'gimmick' that'll rampage around!" The teacher clarified. "It's like a boss monster that gives zero rewards, hehehe..."

One of the students who raised his hand just now, quickly put it back down. He felt so embarrassed.

"The reputed hero and author of the Chinese classic Bingfa, The Art of War, Sun Tzu, once said… Plan for what is difficult while it is easy, do what is great while it is small." Present Mic said sagely. Many students stood up and applauded loudly.

"Now, let us move to the main event! PLUS ULTRA!!!" He exclaimed while raising his fist above.

The room became quiet once more...

Mai honestly didn't need the explanation. She had already done reading all the pages of the U.A. guide book. Her plan has already been set in stone. All that's left is the moment to make it happen.
