Scarlet Princess

[10 years later since the first major war,]

Another day had come. The never-waning brilliance of the sun showered on all the remaining continents of the world.

In one particular federation in the easthern continent, the Solace Federation, a nation of passionate people, there were gloomy clouds gathering above in one of its cities.

WEEEEHHHHHH~

It was morning, but all inhabitants in the city were interrupted by a strange wheezing sound. After the sound was a deafening explosion.

*BOOM!*

The explosion startled all living inhabitants in all corners of the city. "!!" A young man woke up from his deep slumber because of that.

His hair was slightly ruffled from sleeping.

What was that?! The startled young man exclaimed in mind as he got up almost immediately and glanced around, surprised and confused. He felt a slight tremor and noticed his vision was shaking.

What? Earthquake?

The tremor did not last long. It only happened 2 to 3 seconds long. But after that, he heard noisy yells coming from outside.

Wait! It looks like something's happening outside! A commotion? The young man thought upon hearing it.

He quickly shrugged off the blanket that was covering half of his body, then he got off of his bed and ran to open his window.

After opening his window, he peeked through it. He looked outside and saw smoke rising from the distance, going above the roof of some buildings.

In the sky, he saw a flying aircraft falling with its rear on fire and was gushing out with dark smoke. Another explosion happened when it crashed below.

Oh my goodness! His eyes grew wider at what he saw. There was a very dangerous matter that was happening right now! The young man shouted in his mind.

*BOOM!*

"Gyah!"

The loud thundering sound startled the young man. Some other flying aircrafts were being chased by a gigantic creature with dark purplish color. It looked like a giant insect.

"It's Zerg! Zerg is attacking the city!" The young man exclaimed with its jaw almost dropped on the floor and his eyes were popping out of his eye sockets.

This is bad! What should I do?! He ran in a circle, driven by panic.

The Zerg flew rapidly in the sky while occasionally spurting green liquids below, destroying several aircrafts crossing the sky at the touch of those liquids. Every time those squirts came, smoke rose from the explosions.

<Master! Master! A Zerg is attacking the city!> A wingless flying flat object which is vertically rectangular emerged behind the young man and announced the bad news.

"Yes Adam! I saw it!" The young man replied in a shout. "What should we do?!!"

<First, you need to calm down, Master.>

When they glanced at the sky, they saw a massive dark-skinned flying insect with a pair of green transparent wings rapidly flapping and producing buzzing sounds.

The young man, on the other hand, squinted his eyes towards some clouds.

"This is even more serious, Adam. There is not only one Zerg. I see three of them!"

The young man clenched his teeth. He saw another two silhouettes of the same figures swimming in the clouds.

The flying flat object with the size of his palm focused one of its lenses in the sky, zooming out a certain area. <You're right, master. There are indeed another two of them. I think it's better to evacuate to a safer place as soon as possible.>

"Then please lead the way. Come on!" The young man urged.

They were about to leave when one of the spits splashed towards the building where the two of them were. Fortunately, Adam noticed it.

<Wait Master! A spit is coming! Watch out!>

When the young man glanced outside, he saw it coming. "Sh*t! I don't want to die without having a girlfriend!" He quickly dove away from the window.

VWAM!

They heard rumbling and wreckage sounds along with intense shaking like it was the end of the world. When the shaking stopped, they looked back and noticed the entire wall on that side along with a big part of the roof had vanished, or it more like they melted.

<Those spits are highly dangerous. Be careful.>

"S-sure…"

The young man felt there was something on his head. He touched it. His hand indeed touched something smooth. He grabbed it and looked what it was.

"F*ck! Whose underwear is this?!" He screamed and quickly threw it away. Probably some other tenant's bra.

He just arrived in this city yesterday and yet the city was already under attack by Zergs!??? Talk about luck. He came here for his legendary quest so that he could live a normal life for the rest of his life.

They were about to leave but, <Wait. Look, Master, there are other figures emerging in the sky!> Adam pointed out.

Again?! This is the end!

The young man felt an indescribable frustration. He glanced quickly anticipating that it was another spit. But when he saw that it wasn't, he calmed down.

In the sky, they saw another three flying figures, but they weren't spits or Zergs.

"Could they be the Zerg Slayers???" He asked with question marks floating above his head

<Master, I think they are the academy's top mech pilots.> The young man's eyes sparkled upon the mention of it.

"How can you tell?"

<The insignia on their mechs.>

"Oh! They are indeed."

The young man muttered when he saw the three flying mechs' insignia. The six wings insignia!

The three flying mechs flew straight towards the three Zergs. Then, confronted them in a dog fight in the sky.

"It seems the federation has finally produced better mechs after several years, huh."

<That's right. Not only did each of them have a built-in flight engine, Nexus Falcon A03FE, they are now more capable as well.>

"Maybe because of those delicate frames," the young man said his speculation.

*Vwoop!*

One of the Zergs tried to tackle the mech in brilliant scarlet color, "Watch out!" The young man shouted.

<That is useless, master. She can't hear you. Needless to say, there's no need to warn her.>

The scarlet mech just simply dodge it with a little movement.

"Y-you're right. Anyway, she's not bad, huh," the young man breathed a sigh of relief. Hah~ It seems we're saved. He thought inwardly.

After dodging the Zerg's attack, the thrusters on the scarlet mech's back and the back of its legs produced more radiant blue plasma energy. After that, its figure shot towards that Zerg.

With a slash of its Titanium Sword, the Zerg lost one of its wings. The slashed produced a bluish image of slash that remained in the air for a second. Now, losing one of its wings, it lost its balance. After losing its balance, it also lost its ability to fly.

The Zerg was plunging down while spinning. Seeing that it would crash to one of the human establishments below, the scarlet mech sheathed back its Titanium Sword and pulled out a High Caliber Rifle with a long barrel.

After a second of adjusting its aim, the trigger was pulled.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

After those three consecutive shots, the Zerg that lost one of its wings exploded and scattered as debris. Like dust in the sky.

Buzz~

Wriing~ Wriing~ Vwoop~

Ratatatat~

Clashes and heavy gun fights were happening from those two other pairs. Later on, the three flying mechs were able to subjugate the three Zergs.

Among those three flying mechs, one of them had a very distinct color and fighting ability. "That scarlet mech…" the young man muttered.

<She is the popular scarlet princess in the First District Academy, Master.> Said Adam.

"I see. No wonder. I hope she's a cute princess, hehe."

A few minutes after killing the Zergs, A giant blip crossed the sky announcing the news.

"Everyone! The scarlet princess and the rest of the academy elites had saved us again!" A floating giant monitor announced the success in defending the city.

Bravo!

Whohoo!!

Princesss!!!

They heard loud cheering from the people below. Seeing that they had finished what they came for, the three flying mechs nodded at each other before they flew towards the distance, disappearing from their sights.

The young man narrowed his eyes at the retreating figures of the three mechs.

<They've used High Caliber Guns and Titanium Swords to end the Zergs.>

The young man showed a fascinated face. "Yes, that's elite for you."

<Anyway, master. It seems there's no need to evacuate. In that case, you must prepare now. It's about time to enter the academy.>

His eyes with clear golden pupils looked away from the direction where the three mechs were heading to. He looked at his mechanical companion and nodded.

"You're right. Let's go, Adam. Let's find my soulmate!"
