4 Way towards shellstown

After they got away from marine luffy stopped the roring of the boat which was going at a extremly fast pase due to luffy roring the boat. Nami tought she was going to die. The girl tearfully cradled her treasure. Coby was staring blankly at the sky as if he had already given up on life.Theey had gotten away scot free. the marines were nowhere in sight, the sun was shining and the sea was calm. she huffed a sigh out, before smiling slightly she mumbled, "but hey, I got a lot of treasure out of it !" The last part was mostly to herself, though luffy heard her anyway. luffy laughed and said, "Shishishi, that was fun. " after saying that he took a fist right to the head in courtesy of an angry orange-haired girl. Luffy can avoid that punch but choose not to in order to make relation between them closer. Nami screamed in demonic tone and said, " you almost got us killed!" waving her smoking fist in front of him. She slumped over and louunged on her bag.

Nami got cheerful again with the all traces of her anger gone she reintroduced herself, " once again I'M nami ". Luffy grinned at this display of her mood change faster than flip-flop and high fied nami and said, " I'm Monkey D. Luffy! This wimpy looking guy is coby. coby slumped ovewr in depression watching the two of them. Nami said , " I'm a thief who robs Pirates of their treasures ! I could use a guy like you helping me! I'm the best damn navigator in the seas and i need some strong people helping me take treasure ! Shall we be partners ? " Luffy slumped back after hearing this and said , " nah, not interseted , Don't get me wrong nami. you seem like a nice and intersting person and you have got emnormas potentialbut you seem like bound by some kind of shakkle and thai's why i am on the sea. " and he thought,' i can see she has more potential than coby but it seem kinda restricted by something, may be this is the fear of the arlong that has be deep rooted in her so that her will seem like it's shackled, if i want her on my crew i have to get rid of it.'

Nami smiled dipped as she crossed her arms and said", so what are you out on the sea for ?" Coby who was seemingly revived was sweating buckets and thought,' don't-be-idiot!, don't-be-idiot!...' . Only Luffy's bright smile could be seen under the strawhat as his RIght hand was on the hat and and pointed his left hand's finger towards the sky and said." i wanna become the pirate king"

Seemingly Nami's face become furious looking as she growled," so, you are a scumbag pirate, I hate pirates ! everything in this era is pirate this pirate that and i should just toss you off from the boat ". Luffy watched the orange haired girls outbreak and thought, ' how much of the burden is she carring on her sholders that she reached her breaking point '. while Coby gasped, 'wondering if the girl was insane . had she not seen same thing as him ? Luffy looked at her seriously for long enough that she started to sweat, suddenly remembering the attack he'd used earliar. suddenly, luffy spoke calmly," you can't do that." Nami sneered angrily while feeling scared putting up the fake bravado and said," oh! why not ?" Luffy stared at her intensely, deep into her eyes till she started feeling even more uncomfortable and said," I will die."

Nami and Coby slumped to the wooden floor of their boat in load crashes. Nami mumbled., "this..this guys a moron.. " Luffy laughed having the defuse the situation as nami asked why would he die? while getting back to her sitting position. As luffy answers he ate the gomu gomu no mi, so he became a rubber man while keeping about the lighting part to himself.

Nami was shocked and asked ,"wait!wait!wait! you mean those devil fruits actually exits! i thought they were just a myth! " Luffy chuckled and grin upon hearing that and said ," they are real alright. A pirate crew had used my town as a base and they brought it with them after one of their voyages. I thought it was just a dessert that they had brought with them , when this asshole Mountain Bandit showed up i ate it while i was distracted. man, that thing tasted so bad "

Nami asked," What did those pirates do to you when they found out you had eaten it ? even though most people thought thay were just legends, I still heard that even a single Devil fruit can go around for hundred of millions on the black markets. I just never thought they were real, otherwise i definitely would have been hunting for them. They must have been so angry... I'm surprised that you are even still alive."

Luffy said, " yeah they were pissed alright pissed at the fact that i had given away my chance to swim." hearing this both coby and nami gasped in disbelief and luffy continue, " Not all pirates are scumbags you know. We were all good friends, we even had a great celebration afterwards"With that luffy fell asleep giving nami chance to think about this.

Nami turned her head away, not wanting coby to see her greating teeth and glinting eyes. What were they suppose to say worldview shattring statements like that ? What were you suppose to say to the knowledge that you had just some shit luck ?

When luffy awoke, it was already the dead of the night. the boat was calmly sailing onward, but both of the other two members of the boats seemed to be asleep. Coby was sleeping like dead , while nami was shivering and tossing around. Luffy smiled and took off his shirt before walking over to her. he draped the shirt over her form in an attempt to warm her. He turned back to his spot, when he heard her voice behind him. nami spoke, you are awfullly brave, sleeping like that near someone who threated to drown you.

He turned and stared at nami, who apparently had been awake. despite her hatred of pirates, she was still cold and the day's earliar conversation had shaken her. luffy grined and said you didn't seem like a bad person after hearing that she awarted her eyes, luffy sat next to nami and continued, " you've had some bad things done to you by pirates, haven't you ? she looked away fully and said i hate pirates like that too, picking on the weak, lording it over others, hurting their combrads "

Luffy countinued," but you know in these world there isn't much choice beside marine, pirate or ordinary people. and pirates are much freere than the rest. I choose the pirate because of it's freedom, you can't paint everyone with the same brush. there are pirates who are good while there are some marine who are bad it's up to you how you want to be whether it's good or bad ,marine or pirates doesn't matter."

After saying that luffy standup and goes to his direction nami looked towards him with muchfore freer heart now , before clucjing his shirts thighter and trying to fall alseep herself.
