2 Horror inside the pyramid

"Let's go." Said the captain of the group.

The group walked inside the pyramid without any difficulty. The first thing they noticed was the giant gate they walked through. It was perfectly carved out of a giant sandstone and seemed like a masterpiece. The captain noticed this and frowned.

"Mr.Thomson. Exactly how old is this pyramid? Carving a stone like this is only possible with laser cutting. The god of war died around ten million years ago if we believe in the tales. You still saying that we will find his corpse inside this pyramid?"

Ray Thomson sighed and shook his head with a disappointed face. "Captain, how much pyramid did you see in your life?"

"This is the first time. Why?"

"You can find these perfectly cut stones inside every pyramid. They just never show it to the tourists. There are still many unexplainable thing in this world. Also this pyramid just appeared out of nowhere. You still believe that finding a few million years old corpse is not possible?"

The captain just shook his head and the group continued walking inside the pyramid. There were no traps, no mazes, nothing tricky. Only a super long corridor. Six hours passed and the group still walked inside this corridor.

"This corridor is too long. Let's run for a few hours and turn back if we still can't see the end after that."

Ray thomson obviously didn't like the idea of turning back. He knew that this corridor leads somewhere. He believed that no one would build an endless corridor without a reason, but he can't do anything if the rest of the team wants to turn back. Thus, he agreed with them in the end.

The group started running and running, but they still can't see the end of the corridor, only darkness. They ran for a few minutes more then the captain of the group suddenly stopped and turned around.

"I think it's time to go back Mr.Thomson. I know you really want to explore this pyramid, but we already decided that we will go back. I hope you understand our decision after hours of running and walking. You can go back here with another team anytime, so it's not even a loss for you."

Thomson gritted his teeths and said "Just one more hour."

Sadly the rest of the team disagreed. "No Mr.Thomson, we go back now. We will run out of food and water if we continue, but we can come back later. Our job is still not finished after all."

Said the captain and turned around. He started walking in the opposite direction, but something unexpected happened in the next few seconds. The roof caved in and the captain got separated from the group. One of the group members quickly reacted and shouted.

"WATCH OUT!"

"Are you alright captain?"

"Yes, ask Kyle to punch a hole through the debris." Shouted back the captain.

Kyle was the strongest member of the group. He can easily shatter giant boulders into pieces. This wall in front of him is nothing. That's what he thought. Kyle punched the debris wall with full power, but nothing happened. The wall absorbed the punch. Kyle didn't give up. He punched the ground and the walls of the corridor, but still nothing.

"I can't do anything Cap. This wall is too weird. I get weaker every time I punch it."

"Then we can't do anything. I go back and call for he--arrrgh what the hell. Something bit me just now."

The captain lowered his gaze and saw something terrifying. A giant cockroach currently eating his leg. What's more terrifying is that the captain only felt the first bite and nothing after that. The cockroach used some kind of anesthetic. The captain saw this and started panicking. He completely forgot about self defense.

"Arrrhhh NO!! STOP IT STOP IT!"

The other group members heard the captain screaming. They also heard some type of munching. It was a disgusting sound and they will probably never forget this sound for the rest of their lives.

"CAPTAIIN!

"CAAAPTAAIN!"

Everyone started punching and kicking the debris wall including Ray Thompson, but sadly nothing happened. They shouted once again, but no response came this time, only the sounds of eating. Everyone knew what happened with their captain by now. The mood became depressed. Kyle was the strongest one not just physically but mentally too. He was the first one to speak after a few minutes of silence.

"F*ck, what do we do now Mr.Thomson. We can't go back."

"That was a silly question. We go forward if we can't go back. Also, I'm sure that the roof exploded and it was not a coincidence. I heard the sound of explosives. The pyramid is made this way. We probably can't go back. Let's go"

Ray Thomson started walking forward again and the rest of the group followed him. Everyone was unmotivated and depressed. Their captain was kind and saved them countless times in the past. Losing someone important like this is very sad.

Suddenly Thomson stopped and looked at the wall. There was an ancient text on the wall and Thomson understood it. He studied ancient texts for almost a decade.

"Guys, I think I just found our first clue. This ancient text says something about the god of war."

"Be strong and never look back, be brave and look forward even if you don't know what will happen. -Daniel- "

Thomson read the text and understood everything.

"I see, this pyramid is a test. We can't go back, only forward, but we will have a hard time if it's true. This is probably a very long corridor. Let's run. We need to get out as fast as possible."

Everyone started running. Sadly, they didn't know exactly how long the corridor is. Minutes passed away in the blink of an eye, hours and finally days. The end of the corridor is still nowhere to be seen.
