4 First days in a modern world

Everyone took a step back and stared at the "corpse". Ray started to think, how can something like this happen. He remembered the ancient symbols and rushed back to make sure his memories are not failing him. He read the text again and his eyes widened when he saw the word "rebirth".

"F*ck what is this place. We were so surprised by the altar that we completely forgot about the text. It says something like we will be the first ones to witness the rebirth. Seems like this is not a corpse. Not anymore. We have to attack first if he get's agressive. Will he understand us? The god of war is millions of years old after all. I can only read the ancient symbols but not speak. What can we do if he's stronger than us? He is a superhuman just like us? Or he is a normal human warrior and the tales are just exaggerated."

Ray Thompson became excited and hyperactive. He started worrying about useless things and the rest of the team tried to calm him down somehow. "Calm down Mr.Thomson, let's just wait first and see what happens. We can decide after that."

Thomson calmed down and a minute of silence followed after that. Everyone stared at the body on the altar. They waited for the chains to break or some other type of lifesigns. The altar started shaking after the one minute silence. Cracks appeared on it's surface and the chains started to break just as they expected. It made a loud sound. The chains were made of a black metal. These chains started to break one by one, but not because someone breaked them with force. No, the body still didn't move. the chains started to break by themselves. As if something or someone ordered them to break.

The group started to instinctively back away towards the exit. This was their reaction to the incomprehensible thing which happened before their eyes. The extraordinary event ended in mere seconds after all the black chains dropped to the ground.

DANIEL'S POV

Daniel slowly opened his eyes and sat up. He looked around with his piercing red eyes and saw the black chains on the ground. He also knew that he is inside some kind of pyramid. Then he turned his head towards the opposite direction and locked his eyes on the group. They wore weird clothes and spoke a weird language. Daniel sensed a mysterious power inside them. He knew that these people are probably the warriors of this world. Then he looked at his own body. The scars from his body completely disappeared. He lost almost all of his strength, but he knew this will happen. He looked at the group and stood up.

"Do you understand me?"

The group answered, but in a different language. Then memories started flowing inside Daniel's head. The history of this world, the language and other important things. These important things needed to live in this new society.

[System synchronization finished! Welcome host.]

This message was the last memory he received. Now he understood the language and understood the basic about this world. The history, their habits and everything. The sudden flow of memories confused him a bit, but he can sort out the things inside his head, after he fully grasped the current situation.

Ray Thomson looked at him and said in a quiet voice. "Do you understand our language? Are you the immortal god of war?"

Daniel looked at him with his red eyes and started walking confidently towards Ray. His red eyes were fixed on him. This caused Ray to feel inferior and he looked away instinctively. Ray didn't know how did this whole thing happen. This millions of years old legend just woke up, yet he acted perfectly calm, as if he always knew everything about this new era.

Daniel saw that Ray averted his gaze and smiled.

"You don't need to worry. I understand your language. Also just call me Daniel. What is the current situation?"

Ray explained everything after this. He didn't miss a single detail. How they found the pyramid. Who is this group and how the captain of the group died. Who is Ray. He also introduced Daniel to the rest of the group.

"I see, but what do you plan to do now?" asked Daniel

"We didn't know that this will happen, I will contant the world government now and they will decide. Also, you don't have to worry, the world government won't do anything to you. They are the biggest organization of the world and I can assure you. Their only goal is world peace and order."

Daniel knew that this is true. He received information about the world government. Their job was to arrest criminals and keep world peace. The organization was established a year after the first "superhumans" appeared. This organization also not just one superpower. This is more like an independent international police. Their mindset was also similar.

Ray called the world government and discussed with them for a few minutes.

"Hello, I'm Ray Thomson and something unexpected happened inside the pyramid. Can you call the president for me?"

A few minutes later a stern voice asked Ray.

"I'm the president, what happened Ray?"

"We went inside the pyramid just as you ordered, but something unexpected happened and the captain of the group died, but this is not important here. The immortal god of war is alive! This is not just a corpse! He even understands our language and I feel like he somehow grasped his own situation. Everything is weird, but he is really alive. He also looks like just as they described in the legends."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY? NOT A CORPSE? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!"

"No president, you can even talk with him if you want."

"Give him the phone."

Ray gave his phone to Daniel and looked at him curiously. "Do you know how to use it?" Daniel shook his head and said. "I don't, but I just have to speak currently right?" Daniel grabbed the phone and spoke as if it was natural. His voice was calm, confident and collected.

"Do you hear me? Are you the one whom they call president?"

There was no answer for like 10 seconds and the president tried to calm himself during this time. Then he finally answered after that.

"I'm here, are you really the god of war from the legends?"

"Your group found me inside this pyramid. As for my identity. You can confirm it after we met. Talking about this through phone is pointless right? Just ask me questions I can answer."

"Okay, then, you probably know by now, but I say it once again. Originally, we sent Dr, Ray Thomson to retrieve your corpse. We wanted to experiment with it. This is not a secret anymore and I'm sure you understand it. However, the current situation is different, you are alive and we need to know more about you. Tell me what is your goal?"

"I'm not a threat and I'm not dangerous. I would just kill everyone here and run away before others find me, if I were evil. You probably know this as well right? My only goal is to be the strongest, that's all."

"I see, this is really something you would say as the god of war. Okay, then I want to meet you in person, before we decide the future."

Everything was settled not long after this conversation. The group packed their things and walked out of the pyramid. It was not hard anymore, there were no hidden threats and the group took a lot of miracle water with them. Daniel followed them and curiously looked everywhere inside the pyramid. Everything was written with the ancient language and Daniel understood it. He knew that probably the goddess created this place and placed his body here somehow. They also found the corpse of the captain. It was only a skeleton though.

The group ran through the desert after that. It was extremely hard for Daniel because he lost all his powers. The trip through the desert took more than a week in the end. Daniel was very tired but happy, this week of running took a lot of energy, but Daniel got in shape and he was happy for that. It was physically impossible for normal humans to run in the desert like that, but luckily the miracle water helped Daniel out. He also got some normal clothes from the group. A blue jeans, white T-shirt and black socks.

A black car picked them up after that and took them inside the city. Daniel knew everything about these things thanks to his new memories. He knew what skyscrapers are and he knew how society works. The black car took them to the tallest skyscraper in the city. This skyscraper was almost entirely made out of windows. The building was full of tinted windows. It looked extremely futuristic. Daniel and the rest of the group stepped out of the big car. It was time to meet the president.
