1 Behind the doors

A single bright leaf landed in front of me while darker ones danced around me. The wind picked up speed and moved the leaves around. I clutched my red scurf that was around my neck to keep it in place. Stopping, I closed my eyes and sighed, I wish I was one of those leaves, free.

I looked towards the sky, the clouds were dark and gloomy. I felt a ping in my back pocket, reaching around I grabbed my cellphone. Seeing the caller idea, I shook my head and put it back in my pocket. It was my dad. Well let's just say I'm not on good terms with my my parents. I wasn't gonna answer them after what had happened. I continued my walk home, wanting to savior time and hoping it wouldn't rain just yet.

I heard my name being called from my back. I knew that voice from any way. I smiled as I turned. It was my best friend.

"Hey Saraphina." He said when he caught up with me. He pulled on a piece of my straight hair.

I smacked his hand, "nice to see you to."

He took a one look at me and asked "What's wrong?"

I sighed and said "Parents." and he know just to not say anything else about the topic.

Changing the topic, he asked "What you doing walking around, you know its about to rain."

"Look who's talking, and you get sick easily." he gave me his soft smile and I could hear the care in his voice. "I felt you calling out for me." Always cocky, I thought to my self and laughed.

"Me?" I pointed to myself. "Calling out-" I paused. "To you." I pointed to him.

"Yep, I know how much you need me."

I laughed. "No one has more ego then you."

Then at that moment his phone ringed. He took it out of his pocket and looked at the caller ID.

He answered it and put it on speaker. "Hey mom."

"Hey Jake." His mom answered. "While you're coming home can you get milk? Were out of it and your little sister wants some."

"Hey Natalie." I said. If it was one thing I knew, it was I love Jake mom.

"Oh hey sweetie. Jake kidnap you again?" She answered back.

I laughed. "Not this time." In the background I could hear him mumbling.

"Okay okay." He groaned. "Bye mom."

"Don't forget to get the milk. I love you." Natalie said. I could hear the smile in her voice.

"Bye mom. Love you to." He answered back and ended the call and put his phone back in his pocket.

"Sorry angel." He said. "You heard I have to go and get milk and hope I don't get rained on" He groaned.

"Its fine doesn't worry, with the luck you have you wont." I say back and hug him again. "Thanks again."

He hugged me back. "Bye Phina." And started walking towards the store.

We lived in a small town. And when I meant small I meant one church, with one high school carrying about 120 kids. 2 markets and to get Starbucks you had to drive to the next big city which was 55 miles north. I looked up to the sky, it was like a cursed town, once you entered it was hard to leave. Something drew you into it. Once here you were either to stuck or to stupid to get out. A low thunder brought me back from my thoughts.

I walked to my street. There's more rumors about the town I stay in then I could count. Rumors about the houses, rumors about the trees behind my house, the ones circling around the town. And one of the interesting I thought was the Old Ladys House. The big abandon house on my street. The rumor was said that an old lady was getting ready to go to bed, when she heard a low mumbles coming from the hallway. She had gotten up,walked to the door and opened it. But nothing was there, she walked out into the hallway, calling out if anyone was there. And the next moment all the neighbors heard a killer scream and she was gone.

She was never seen again and whenever now someone try to live in it, they would disappear as the old lady had. As I was walking I noticed that I was standing in front of that house.

It was a big black house. The grass had grown on all wrong difference ways. The flowers were died. The windows were dark. The roof was missing some parts even. I'm a very curious girl so I did what every curious girl would. I went up and knocked on the door saying "Any one home?". I know a stupid move but I just couldn't barge in. No one answered I knocked again saying "Any one home?" Even knowing no one was home... I had to try. When no one answered this time I did something even more stupid, I opened the old brown door and went inside.

I had to admit this was one of the craziest things I ever done.

First step I took into the horror filled house, I regretted it. Chills went up my spin, the room was gloomy. Everything was beat up, old and dusty. The cotton from the pillows were torn out, the paint on the walls were chipping from old age. The curtains from the windows were ripped. I slowly walked over to them, reached over to observe it, running my finger down. All of the sudden, a noise brought me out of my thoughts.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Rain started to fall, I looked out the window it was dark outside, the clouds fighting each other for dominance. I shook my head, what great timing, I thought to myself. I looked down at the wood flooring, noticed a trail. My heart started to speed up, I couldn't believe it. There was a blood leading to the stairs, the trail was pulling me I couldn't stop now. I followed up the black wooden stairs where the blood led to. Holding on to the railing, repetitively telling myself this was a bad idea. Then the rest of the blood leaded to a door. I turned the knob and entered the room.

The moment I walked in, something slammed the door shut behind me faster then I could see.

I turned around, and saw the hand on the door, his back was turned towards me, hand clutched with rage. His skin was the most beautiful color of dark shade I had ever seen. How did he get there so fast? Suggestions ran through my head on how this would be possible, I took a step back only to hear a chuckle behind me. I quickly turned around to see two more pair of eyes staring at me.

The one that chuckled, was looking at my with amusement in his sky clear eyes. His pure blond hair was neatly done, he got up from the couch he was sitting on.

"M'lady" He said as his smile grew bigger, he had a little scar on his upper lip.

And the other one was leaning against the wall, studying me up and down with his sea green eyes that held powerful strength but also gentleness just as the sea itself. His jet black hair was perfectly messy, pieces of his hair was falling in his eyes. His tight blue shirt was well against his muscles.

I shook my head, turned around to see the man who had slammed the door was right behind me staring down into my eyes with his dark brown eyes with raged. All three of them just staring at me when their intense of eyes. Burning a hole on me.

They look around the same age, early twenties but the more you studied them more they look ancient, centuries old.

The one behind me growled. "Well, well, what do we have here? A human?" He picked up a piece of my hair and smelt it. "With very strong blood to."

"A beautiful one would be more accurate Nicolas." The blond one said staring right at me. I tilted my head to the side, staring at him. Well the one behind me felt like he wanted to kill me this one was odd, acting like he wanted to play with me. Like he was a cat and I was the yarn. "Can we keep her?" He looked at the one that was leaning against the wall. He asked the question with a pout, like I was an stray animal out in the streets. I stared back at him and I noticed he was testing me, seeing if I would say something back.

The one who was leaning, looked at me, his sea green eyes boring into my soul.
