6 Chapter 6

As the group made their way into the room, the two children looked around in amazement. While they had lived in luxurious palaces and seen many unique items, the auction house still piqued their interest.

Seeing that both the kids were looking around in wonder brought a smile to Shiva and Lora's faces. No one disliked seeing the bright smile of cute demons.

The auction house was a unique place to demons and different than those of other species. It was common practice to rob others of their gains in broad daylight without even covering their faces.

The smarter ones would cover their face for less chance of retaliation but most of those who were willing to steal was unafraid of the consequences. 3 types of demons visited this place.

The first was those with power, wealth, and reputation. They had no need to fear being stolen from. No one would dare to steal from them. These were members of royalty, alphas of species, Demon Lords, and former Demon Lords.

The second were those with a strong financial background. These demons could not only afford the items but also afford to pay other demons to protect them from thieves.

The last were those who were confident in their strength. Most of these types were the poorest while very few had actual wealth. Some would come to buy items and annoy others just to show off their combat prowess while others would come for the sake of stealing.

When they finally entered the room, the kids were surprised by how normal it was. There was a large and luxurious black sofa near the back of the room, several chairs near a large window at the front of the room, a large table filled with drinks and snacks, and a low-rank dark race member in the corner.

'Hmm. Ratmen work here? Didn't expect such a high-class place to use such low-ranked slaves. '

The dark race was indeed a Ratman. They were outcasts of the beast-kin races and were barely counted among the dark races. They were caught in between two groups that did not really want either of them.

Ratmen were useless for the most part. They were E rank, ate a lot, reproduced too fast, and had almost no talent in magic. Their only use was as cannon fodder in battle or workers to handle the jobs no one else would. To have one as a servant in an auction house would have been unheard of.

Everyone in the room acted as if the Ratman was not there before sitting in the seats at the front of the room. Both the children practically glued themselves to the glass in front of them to have a good view of the auction room.

Shiva began explaining the details of who was in each room and how the auction worked to the duo.

The first thing she introduced was the other 1st Tier VIP rooms. Anyone could see into the windows of these. These rooms belonged to the highest members of royalty and the Demon Lords. They each came with food, multiple places to sit and even a bed for those who wanted to get even more comfortable, an attendant, and the best view.

Demons could use one of several buttons to raise the price of items when they wanted to bid. The buttons were labeled bid, 10,000, 100,000, and 1,000,000. Any items that caught the eye of a big shot had to at least have been paid for in the 10s of thousand.

The 2nd tier VIP rooms were reserved for the powerful and wealthy while the 3rd tier was just for the wealthy. Both of those rooms came with buttons and a few seats but nothing else to reflect the status of the demons as second-rate compared to the 1st tier.

As for those who could not afford a room, they were all in seats beneath the stage. They received nothing and had to yell out their bids. One rule that applied to everyone was bid raising. If anyone dared to raise bids maliciously, they would be killed by the Demon Lord or one of their elite personnel.

Shiva pointed a few other smaller details for the pair to learn so they did not make any mistakes, or at least fewer when they would visit the auction house on their own in the future.

Before anyone realized it, a scantily clad female vampire made her way onto the stage. Her pale skin stood out under the bright lights and the clothes that showed off all of her curves.

"Welcome to the House of Temptation. I'm sure most of you have heard of some of the products we have ready and are ready to spend your coins. Therefore, I shall not keep you waiting.

The first item we are auctioning is the Tier 4 Ability Book, Blink Step. Most of you know what this skill does but for those who do not, Blink Step is the weaker but manaless form of the spell, Blink. This allows for short-distance, instant teleportation. Due to its unique properties, this Ability Book will be priced the same as a Tier 5 book. The starting bid is 5,000 coins, minimum increases of 1,000 coins are required. Can outright buy the book for 500,000 coins."

And that is when the bidding war began. Teleportation spells were rare while skills were even rarer. Creatures with space abilities were hard to find and even harder to kill which increased the price of anything related to them by at least 1 tier.

The Ability Book was sold for 210,000 coins which were about the market price for it. While the skill was good, it was still only a Tier 4 skill at the end of the day.

After the book was bought many more exotic and rare items were sold throughout the night. Kali did not recognize any of the items, and while Mordred was able to identify a few, most were a mystery to him. But this did not stop the pair from being fascinated with everything they saw.

Each item was unique and many gave off an aura that seemed to attract the two children. By the time the auction ended, both of the children were exhausted and being carried by Lora and under the caring watch of Shiva. The group was surrounded by over 20 imperial guards and were making their way back to the Demon Emperor's castle.

When they arrived at Shiva's villa, Lora was about to bring both children to Kali's room but Shiva stopped them.

"Pass those little guys to me. You can have the rest of the night off."

Lora looked puzzled but still obeyed. She would not refuse the orders of Shiva. After she passed over the children and saw Shiva walk away, Lora began making her way back to her own room.

When Shiva arrived back to her bedroom, she changed both the children from the cumbersome clothes into some pajamas she kept ready for them in her room.

Both the children were half-awake as they were being changed so they were slightly helpful but still not fully aware of what was going on.

After both were changed, Shiva placed them both on her bed before stripping down and heading to her bath. Once she returned, she saw the pair were cuddling each other.

'Oh my gosh! So cute!' She thought to herself as she held back a scream. Shiva joined both the children in bed while only wearing a robe.

She put herself in between the pair in order to cuddle them both before she drifted off the sleep herself.
