67 Chapter 67: The Popular Kids (Pt 2)

"Hello, little cousin. How are you doing?" Mallory greeted smartly. She did not try to greet the demons directly but instead wanted to make use of her family relationships to open the channel and get in their better books.

Cassandra looked nervously at Mordred but when she noticed that he had the same indifferent look on his face, she calmed down. She knew what her cousin was doing but once she saw that Mordred did not mind her, Cassandra also calmed down.

"Hello, elder cousin. I'm doing excellent. I've been recruited by Lord Mordred and will be following him from now on. How else should I be? Do you think that Lord Mordred would abuse me?"

Mallory was surprised by Cassandra's remark. Her cousin had always acted inferior and subservient to her due to their looks and Mallory's higher natural talent. She was used to being looked up to by most of the younger generation of Yuki-Onna.

The pair of twins snickered at Mallory and Cassandra. They had been upset hearing that Mallory had a higher class than them as well as the fact that Cassandra was recruited before them.

Now that the pair were arguing in front of them, they could not help but laugh at the situation.

"So it seems like the Yuki are not as united as we thought sister."

"It is understandable. One of them has acted like she was a true royal since she was young. Now that one of them found a powerful backer, of course, she would no longer tolerate it and speak up."

The pair did not forget to flatter Mordred while also throwing their jabs at the Mallory. She had always been a thorn in their side.

"Hello Lord and Ladies. My name is Sophia and this is my sister Noel."

"We are both B-rank Tsurara-Onna. We also have Tier 4 classes."

"Hmm. I am a Stalker while she is an Eldritch Scout."

"Hmm. We are both good for sneaking up on targets and taking them out silently. Her form up close while I can handle targets from a distance."

The pair introduced themselves in a weird way. It was as if one person could have said it all but the pair seemed to break up their sentences. It was quite weird to anyone who listened to them but they caught Mordred's interest.

Mallory was annoyed that she was being mocked by her race's rivals so she began to shoot back at them with her words. As much as she wanted to fight them, she was much weaker than them at the moment.

'Both have stealth classes? They might actually work out joining me. The question is whether their personalities and intelligence are what I need.'

Mordred made a mental note to inform Cassandra to keep track of the pair. Although he was not going to contract with them on the spot, he would take them in later if they surpassed others in his requirements.

The only reason why Cassandra was accepted so fast was due to Mordred needing an assistant. He considered Nyx too important to handle small matters that he would need taken care of.

He did not trust random servants to handle it as well so he took a risk by taking in Cassandra. At best, he found someone to work for him for a long time. At worst, he had a servant while he was in the academy that he would get rid of when it was over.

Thinking up to here, Mordred decided to ignore the twins and focus on the Atlanteans. They were known for their ability to breathe underwater and most of them having natural talent in magic.

Although he did not need the most powerful races to create powerful subordinates, the better their innate genetics, the easier time he would have evolving them.

And the Atlanteans had one major advantage over the others: they were military trained. While most other demons and dark being races were powerful warriors, few were very good soldiers and would train as soldiers. The Atlanteans were one of these few races.

They trained from when they were young to when they were old and nearly in their graves to work as a team to suppress and annihilate their enemies. While they lacked tremendous one-one combat power, they could suppress another group in a team battle easily.

These were some of the ideal candidates in Mordred's eyes. Disciplined, proud but not arrogant, cooperative. Something few of the races could say to truly be. Most obeyed others because they were stronger, rarely out of loyalty of honor.

As the girls bickered and some of the dumber people joined in as well, the Atlanteans were quiet where they stood. They seemed to neither want to get involved in what was happening nor take pleasure in it.

The group's eyes were not on the arguing pair but kept them on the 3 SSS ranks. This was something that not only Mordred but the other 2 noticed as well. Each of them made a mental note to watch over the other Atlanteans. But Satana and Persephone were both interested in their leader.

Seeing the group look over at them, the lead Atlantean stood even straighter before introducing himself and the other Atlanteans.

"Hello Lord and Ladies. My name is Arthur, I am a B-rank Atlantean and have the 6th Tier class, Sea Knight," He said before pointing at the various Atlanteans around him and introduced their names and classes.

All of them were pretty average and had 2nd and 3rd Tier classes with one of them having a Tier 4. But out of all of them, Arthur definitely stood out.

The trio shared looks with each other. 2 of them said 'He's mine' while the third had a look that said 'all yours. Just don't make a mess.'
