62 Chapter 62: First Contract, Wind Class

Cassandra seemed very happy to have been handed to opportunity and did not respond while the rest of the students looked on in jealously.

"Why her? She is a tier-2!"

"She is a B-rank though. Even if she has weak abilities, her stats are high."

"Probably her looks. He most likely will keep teasing the opportunity to join him while he plays with her body."

"That sounds right. Seems like something the Fallen Prince would do, though."

"Who says that other nobles are not the same as him?"

Mordred heard what others were saying about him but seemed indifferent.

'Bunch of trash. They dare to question me? They don't have the right to question me, let alone get a response from me.'

Cassandra became nervous about Mordred taking back his offer after hearing everything the others were saying about him, but when she saw that same indifferent gaze, she let out the breath that she did not know she was holding.

'Demons really are different. They do not care about other beings at all as long as it does not affect them. They are even colder than us Onna-type dark beings.'

Mordred kept staring at her while Cassandra kept her gaze on Mordred trying to figure out what else he wanted. She realized that she had still yet to give an actual answer to him.

Flustered, she replied "Yes, Lord Mordred. It would be my honor to become a contractee with you."

Mordred nodded at her words. He was starting to get impatient when she did not answer him for a few minutes.

"Good. We will form the contract after class is over since we don't have much time at the moment. Move into the mansion by the 2nd gate within the next few days.

You'll be my left-hand while we are in the academy. If you want to keep that position, make sure you work hard and don't disappoint me."

Cassandra nodded her head eagerly like his words were holy scriptures that she was being blessed with.

Mordred stood next to Cassandra while they and the other students waited for the last few students and the teacher to arrive. It did not take long.

Soon, all were present. Crowly, the teacher, was a Red Oni who had been known as the 'Crimson Wind' during the last major war.

"Welcome to [Basic Wind Magic]! You all will be taught the perks of wind magic, the tips and tricks that come with it, and also get the opportunity to learn several basic wind spells.

To start off, you all will use this class to get the hang of connecting to the wind elements in the air. While most of you have used wind abilities, you have never actually tried to connect with the natural, magical elements in the air."

He paused before summoning a large number of green marbles.

"These are magic cores of the wind element. Magic cores naturally occurring stones that contain specific types of mana. They can be mined in certain areas and have many different uses.

One of their uses is helping users to sense the element that they contain and connect with the less stable and more free-flowing form of the elements that occur in the world. Luckily for you all, the wind element is the most common that can be sensed, even above arcane.

So what you all will do, is try to pull the mana out of these cores using your own. After you sense the mana in the core, you will then try to sense that same type of mana in the atmosphere.

You all will have a week to sense the wind element. If you fail to sense them, by Monday of next week, you will be kicked out of the class. Until then, no need to come to class. You all are dismissed."

And with that, he was off. Crowly chanted a spell for a moment before his body was surrounded by a small tornado before he flew off into the sky.

"Well... since he is gone, let's get done with this contract before you start trying to focus on sensing the elements."

With Crowly gone, Mordred no longer needed to wait. And since he had over an hour before his next class started, he felt it was right to start the contract.

Cassandra looked happy that the contract was being formed so soon. Although she did not show it, she was slightly worried that the other students' words were correct and Mordred was just toying with her emotions.

Mordred heard about how the contract was formed so he did not hesitate. Mordred placed his hand on the yuki-onna's forehead before saying, 'contract'.

Mordred felt a connection trying to form between the pair but something was obstructing it and Mordred knew exactly what it was. Mordred needed to make a contract mark to show those who were contracted to him. Similar to an emblem.

Before Mordred could even think of something, he felt the Raiju inside of him already had an image in mind. When Mordred 'saw' the image that his inner Raiju conjured, he cringed at first but then felt it was fitting.

Soon, the image of a scaled unicorn with a few draconic features appeared in Mordred's and Cassandra's minds. The creature also had lightning surrounding its horn.

After the image of the mark was created, Mordred and Cassandra simply needed to decide where they wanted to put the mark on their own bodies.

Mordred put the mark in the center of his back while Cassandra got the mark on her upper left arm. With this, the contract between the pair was finished.
