49 Chapter 49: Arrival

The group then began discussing a few other small topics and plans before they got to the Academy. Before they knew it, 3 days had passed and they had arrived at their destination.

What greeted them was a large city with incredible and tall walls that looked imposing to anyone who saw them. Hel Academy was less of a traditional academy and more of a small city.

On average, the school had about 500 demons attending and 80,000 dark race members per year. There were also over 2,000 staff, 50,000 soldiers, and even more workers who dealt with the day to day affairs of the academy or worked in shops and businesses around the city.

The army could only bring the carriage to the front gates before they had to leave but a single carriage under the guard of over 10,000 people attracted plenty of attention and everyone already knew who was inside of it.

The carriage passed through the gates under the watchful eyes of many who were hoping to see the legendary figures of the 9.

Each of them had made a name for themselves. First when they awakened their elements, then when they got their classes, and lastly over the course of their dungeon hunting.

Even if no one stalked them, many noticed how fast they had progressed through the different dungeons, with the most powerful of them taking on an A-rank level 300 dungeon just before they left.

Anyone who did not live under a rock knew that the latest generation of SS-rank demons were monsters in demon form.

Although no one could see inside, the 9 could see all the people pointing at and whispering about them.

Nija was feeling proud to have so many pretty girls looking at him while Kali and Satana also seemed to enjoy the male attention.

"Ha! These guys actually know how to appreciate beauty, unlike you brutes!" Kali complained about the guys to which Satana nodded.

Mordred and the others ignored them. Mordred even took out his wine bottle to drink, something he rarely did.

'You both realize you're my cousins, right? Ha!'

The males never really flirted with the others or developed feelings since they knew that they would not end up together. It was an unspoken rule about SS ranks. The girls knew it too but still decided to complain.

Although that unspoken rule did not apply to them. They simply were too focused on themselves to think about things like romance or lust.

Before the group knew it, they had made it through the outer ring and were in the second ring.

The city was divided into 3 rings. The outer ring was where most of the shops were located as well as the dark race, soldier, and worker dorm district.

The second ring was the location of most of the higher class shops as well as the demon and instructor dorm district. The more powerful one was, the closer their dorm was to the inner district.

The inner district was the largest of them all even though it was in the center. The other districts were only 2-3 kilometers in length from on end to the other for each one but the inner district was over 10 kilometers and a full circle instead of just being a ring.

The large size was due to the variety of classes that were offered and the need to be able to properly accommodate them. They could afford to have a beast riding class and only be 100 meters in size.

As the only SS ranks (or so they thought) in the past 500 years, their spot nearest to the inner district was guaranteed but they could not move in until after the entrance ceremony in 3 days.

In the meantime, they were stuck with the general population. This was to foster unity and also give demons a chance to get to know one another. It also was good for older students to scout out potential masters or servants.

When the 9 arrived at their living area, there were already 50 other demons waiting to enter the dorm building.

"Seems like the person in charge is not there yet. Wanna wait in here so we don't get surrounded?" asked Mordred

The others agreed with the idea. They already formed their teams and did not want to have to deal with the countless offers they were sure to receive from the other demons.

After another 30 minutes, a tall brown weredragon walking toward the dorm. Since they were in their Dragonoid form, no one could tell their gender but they could feel the power radiating off of it.

It pushed through the crowd before holding an object onto the doors of the building. The large doors swung backward and opened.

The weredragon spoke up with a deep, masculine voice.

"Welcome to Hel Academy. You will each stay here. Dorms can have up to 5 people in them.

Just pick some at random, I don't really care. The only exceptions are the SS-rank rooms. Unless you get invited or beat them for the rooms, don't even think about entering them.

Your seniors will be arriving in an hour to show you around the city. It will be an excellent chance for you to learn what goes on around here if you don't already.

Rules in the Academy are simple. The strong rule and can do as they please for the most part. The exceptions are during classes or other school events and against rankers, which you will find out about later.

And remember, you can do as you please but every action has a consequence to it."

Without waiting for any questions, the weredragon flew off somewhere, leaving all the demons standing around to do nothing.
