48 Chapter 48: Ride to Hel Academy

A large, grey carriage was traveling through the countryside and making its way to a destination. All of the windows were blacked so normal people would not be able to see who was inside but those who were inside could see what was going on around them.

And the ones that were inside this carriage were the 9 who were sitting quietly for the most part. Most were either resting, reading, or meditating.

They were on their way to the academy. The oldest 5 of the 9 had already missed when they were supposed to join last year in order to wait for the others, so now all of the kids would be joining the same year.

Since the 9 future leaders of the Demons were leaving the safety of Tartarus, they were currently under the escort of 100 elite demons and 50,000 elite demons who had surrounded the carriage on all sides to ensure that no assassins made it through.

Even if Demons prioritized personal strength over all else, they would not be so foolish as to risk an entire generation of Demon Lords because of that principle.

--Inside the carriage--

Everyone was relaxing while Kali and Mania were both sleeping when they heard a loud clapping noise. When they looked over to see who it was, they saw Bast with a fake innocent smile on her face.

Everyone gave her a sharp look while the two former sleeping people were sending her glares while reaching for their weapons.

The trio of vampiresses and dragoness had grown even closer since they had been stuck together for the past few months and almost never left the others' sides.

"Yeah, yeah. You guys can attack me later. We need to discuss some things before we get there and you know it."

There was a groan from someone but the rest ignored it. They had put off discussing the academy and focused on improving their abilities the entire time so they could only talk about it then.

Bast looked over each member of the group to try and see who wanted to go first before her eyes focused on a certain someone.

Seeing the catlike eyes of Bast stare at her, Mania could only sigh to herself before doing what she knew Bast wanted.

"What do you want to see?" the most innocent of the group asked.

Seeing that her friend was so understanding, Bast revealed an even cheerier smiling.

"Aw, you really know me best. Let's see... how about if I will find true love this year?"

Everyone decided to ignore Bast before their eyes focused on their pseudo-leaders Kali and Satana.

Since each wanted to become Demon Empress, both had been trying to lead the group since they first met. The others were indifferent to this and just let the pair decide for the majority of things as long as it was not anyone else's specialty.

"Should we see the dark race members with the most potential that are available? Or perhaps the teacher who would be best suited to take on one of us as a student?"

Satana offered to the group. This was the first time they were using Mania's eyes so they did not want to waste a charge by trying to ask for too much but did not also want to ask for too little.

"Let's see the people with the most potential. We will be able to view more than one and can then gain the most benefits.

We can slowly scope out the teachers over the course of our first year. We are in no rush to find someone or even know if we need anyone," Kali added as her input.

Her words made sense to everyone. The dark race members who could possibly become their subordinates was something everyone was curious about.

They all turned to Mania who had already activated her abilities. The sigils appeared in her eyes and creating a very bright light that filled the interior of the carriage.

Almost everyone covered or closed their eyes when they met the blinding light emitted by Mania.

'Note to the group: never let her use this in public,' Mordred mused to himself.

Inside Manai's vision, she saw the backs of several figures but could not see their faces or knew of their names.

Desert. Human. Female. Dark skin. Red hair. 3 blades.

Water. Human. Merman? Gills. Trident. Brown Hair.

Webs. Spider body. Lower half. Grey body? Rare!

Ice. Hail. White hair. Pale skin.

Before she could see anyone else, Mania's vision ended. Whether that was her limit or those were truly the only 4 with high potential, she was not sure.

But she shared her results with the group. They were able to easily figure out the races of each of the people she described.

The first was a Hassan. An all-female nomadic species that lived in Hel. They were a B-rank species and some of the best assassins that were comparable to dark elves, which most people did do.

The second was an Atlantian. Also a B rank species. They live in the main coastal area of Hel and were some of the best water element users. Their ability to fight underwater was also very impressive.

The third was an Arachne but a rare variant, a Queen Arachne. Most Arachnes were only C ran but a queen was a B rank. This meant that she was guaranteed to rule over the Arachne clans. Being her lord meant that they ruled an entire species as well.

They were known to eat other species some considered sacred or just immoral to consume so they were driven out of other continents until they ended up in Hel where they were accepted.

The last was harder to identify. One option was a Yuki-Onna while the other was a Tsurara-Onna. Both were B rank species with different specialties.

The first was known to be gifted mages with wind and advanced water elements while the latter were powerful warriors who were only skilled with the advanced water element.

Both species had grudges with the other over who was more powerful. Which made their living arrangements even more complicated since they lived in the same mountain range and would frequently come into contact with each other.

The most unique thing about each of these species was this: they broke the rules.

Not in general like being bad or naughty but instead the rules of the world. They were 4 of only 10 B-rank species who had innate abilities that should only be accessible to A-rank and higher.

"So we need to find these 4 and get them to work under us. The worst part is, there are multiple of each of them though, except the queen.

Hel Academy is The Academy, so there are bound to be at least 10-30 members of each of their species and most likely 10 of them are available," Supay supplemented.

"So we simply take them all under us. Who would not want to work for the future leaders, and who is so stupid as to try and stop us from getting the subordinates that we want," Hades said without trying to hide the arrogance of his voice.
