34 Chapter 34: Triassic Lands (Easy Bosses)

The first round penetrated the ankylosaurus's skull before it collapsed, never to open its eyes ever again. This caused Mordred's eyes to open wide in surprise for a moment before he aimed at his next target.

Ankylosaurus' were sturdy, quadrupedal dinosaurs with a large amount of natural armor all over their body. While the triceratops had their skull shield and the pachycephalosaurus had their prominent and tough skull roof, the ankylosaurus was pretty much a living tank.

Not only did armor cover most of its body, including the tail, it also had spikes all over their bodies providing even more defense against close-range attacks from enemies and deter predators from trying to claw or bite it.

Those spikes are what made their self destruct skill so dangerous. They were already sharp, but with the added boost of the already delay explosion, anyone hit by a flying one was pretty much doomed to die.

But Mordred did not have to worry about that. The 3 remaining ankylosauruses were slow and easy targets for him. 3 more shots from the GX and all of them had holes in their skulls.

'The remaining triceratops and pachycephalosaurus are coming from both east and west sides. 3 of each type in each group.

A unique looking triceratops is charging straight at us from the south under the guard of two ankylosauruses using their earth shields. All of them seem to be moving at the same speed.

Wait. It seems like the helmet heads are starting to pick up speed to distract us from the other targets. They're smart.'

"So what I'm hearing is, 'They are leaving the boss wide open for us since they are too stupid to realize that you're flying makes it almost impossible for them to hurt you'."

The little banshee looked at him and gave a small nod in agreement. This was the main weakness of the dinosaurs in the dungeon. Except for the pterodactyls, none of the others could take on airborne targets without much effort unless they tried to knock over trees to attack or self destruct.

Mordred aimed his rifle at the blue and green triceratops in the distance while he ignored everything else. Although it was mostly hidden behind the shield, Mordred still had a good idea of where to shoot.

'The 6 pachycephalosaurus surrounded in lightning are no longer threats.

The triceratops letting out battle cries with glowing horns and shining heads are never going to pierce me.

The ankylosaurus earth shield that they are using to protect the boss can easily be pierced by my bullet.

One Shot, One Kill.'

With that final thought, he pulled the trigger without any more hesitation. The sound of the gun echoed through the plains. What followed were three other sounds.

First was the sound that was already there. The stampeding feet of the creatures charging at Mordred, wanting to take his life.

The second was the sound of rocks collapsing. As if a wall had been crashed into and was called down, brick by brick.

The last sound was of a creature's death cry as if fell to the ground. Spike did not realize what happened to itself at first. But then it felt pain from its head. While the bullet had not managed to pierce all the way through the creature's skull, it was deeply embedded inside of it.

Even if Spike did not die immediately, it would soon die without any healing magic used on it. The bullet truly did its job.

Mordred was not happy with the result, however. The best bullet that had the most penetration power that he could purchase, was unable to kill a single level 50 creature.

'Damn! This is the limit of guns without inscriptions and magic? Looks like until I can get better inscriptions and materials, I need to rely on more traditional weapons for a while.

No. That's not right either. No matter how good at inscriptions I get, these weapons have their limits. No matter how powerful they can get, the issue with them is speed. After a certain level, even I will be able to dodge bullets with ease.

Guess I need to pick up a weapon to use for long-term.'

Mordred sighed to himself before he opening fire on all the other plain dwelling creatures. In less than 3 minutes, the plains area of the dungeon was cleared without a single ability book being dropped.

Mordred was even more disappointed when he saw that. While he had no interest in the abilities himself, he did want to give them to Nyx. He wanted his partner to have a variety of abilities to use to increase her chances of gaining rare evolutions.

Without anything else holding him back, Mordred began making his way to the dead forest in order to hunt the pterodactyls in there. Using his high mobility and the cover of the trees, he only needed to use the regular .50 caliber bullets in order to take the pterodactyls with a single shot.

The last to be taken out were the spinosaurus near the lake. These were actually the easiest to hunt for Mordred. They were not only the fewest in number but also hunted solo and would not interfere in the battles of others. Mordred was able to pick them off at a relaxed pace without even needing to move from a spot.

He finished the dungeon in about 6 hours due to the need to run around the huge dungeon in order to reach the different locations. After he finished the dungeon, he only reached level 38 due to how few enemies there were inside.

As soon as he left, he paid for another spot in the dungeon. Mordred planned to grind in this dungeon until he reached level 50 since this was also the best dungeon to practice his shooting and level up his various shooting skills.

It took him a week before he was finally finished with the dungeon and had reached his maximum level. He had also managed to get a [Thunder Dash] ability book. His fast speed could be achieved due to 4 important factors that most demons did not have access to.

First was his rank. His stats were superior to any other demon his age beside other SS rank demons so he could surpass higher level enemies of lower ranks with ease.

The second was Nyx. Her telepathy allowed him immunity to the creatures' close-range abilities. The third was his guns. He could use those along with Nyx making him fly to pick off targets from a long-range, up to 6,000 meters.

Lastly was natural talent. This was something most demons forgot about since they had their classes and systems to rely on.

Mordred was a genius and a monster of a genius at that. If others were to get the same system as him and had all the same skills, they would not be able to apply them and use them as great as he could.

The skills provided the theoretical knowledge but did not give the user practical ability in the skill. Mordred, however, was able to easily turn the theoretical knowledge into practical ability and use his abilities to their maximum effect.

Mordred was now sitting in his room, prepared to increase his abilities once again.

Mordred did not open his stat page for the past week because he did not want to get distracted. Now, he could not wait anymore to see the progress he made.
