6 FIVE

Alex and I found a seat in front of the stage. I thought that the performances would be boring and so not entertaining; because I am never a person who enjoys music or any sort of concerts, but I found myself enjoying the performances. I bop my head with the music and Alex was looking at me with a satisfied look.

"Sam, you're really enjoying yourself!" Alex exclaimed.

"I know. I can't wait for Before You Exit to perform." I stated through the loud music blasting from the speakers.

Did I just say that? Who would have thought that I would say that in the very first day of camp? I personally did not expect that to happen and to think that I was annoyed by the incident earlier. I guess, Dad is right that I would be enjoying myself in this camp.

"I can tell you, you'll also going to enjoy their performance 'cause their songs are really amazing." Alex said.

"Okay." I said in a weak tone

----

"And please give a round of applause for Before You Exit: Connor, Riley, and Toby McDonough." The emcee said.

The boys of Before You Exit came out and positioned themselves. Then they started singing their original songs, I think, 'cause the songs weren't that familiar to me but Alex was surely singing along.

When they were on their 3rd song I was enjoying, as in really enjoying. Alex was now on her feet dancing to the beat of the music and I found myself doing the same.

Just like what Alex promised me, we left once they ended their performance.

"Hey, wait up." Someone called out. Both Alex and I looked back and saw three guys running towards us.

"Oh. Hey." Alex said as the three guys stood in front of us.

"I thought you weren't watching." Connor or Riley said, as far as I can tell, he is the raven hair guy.

"Well, we did. Got a problem with that? You should be thankful that we watched you perform." I stated sounding so rude, as if the dancing and bopping didn't happen just a few moments ago.

"Rude much." He said.

"It's not like you were the only ones watching. There were loads of girls watching us perform not only you." Toby, I think, remarked. I know it is him because Alex kept on pointing at him in their entire performance, saying that he is her favorite.

"Yeah?!" I said. This is going nowhere. I'm getting really pissed.

What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I acting this way towards them? They seem nice, but I cannot help myself back talk rude towards them.

"Sorry for my friend's rudeness, again." Alex said emphasizing the word 'again'.

"It's fine. But did you like our little performance?" Riley or Connor asked. I still cannot distinguish who's who.

"No."

"Yes." Alex said in my cue.

"Sam, if you didn't like it, why were you dancing along while we sing?" Toby stated.

"I was just carried away. That's all."

"Oh…really?! It didn't look like it." Blondie said.

"So what?! I love music, just so you know." I said and walked away. That statement would be a lie up until a few moments ago. I can now say I love music.

This was really going nowhere. And if I don't stop now, it will lead to chaos. And maybe all their fans would hate me for being rude to them. What can I do? I'm like this around boys.

"Sam, wait." Alex shouted. I didn't bother to look back. I continued walking away from them and headed to the direction of the camp lake.

For sure, the beautiful full moon and the stars, as well as the calm water of the lake can somehow calm me down. And maybe let me relax more and think of a way to act much nicer to people.

Alex's POV

"Sam, wait!" I called out.

She didn't bother to look back. She just continued walking. I really need to know why she is rude when she is with these boys. I know I just met her today but I just felt like I need to find the underlying cause of this if I want to be friends with her. In addition, she is my roommate; I need to understand why she is acting this way.

"What got into her?" Toby questioned once Sam was out of sight.

"Yeah, she's been like that since we got to talk to her earlier." Connor said.

"I really have no idea." I mumbled. "She's been like that since she arrived here. I was glad she was not anymore rude to me. But she's really rude to you."

"What do you think is wrong?" Riley and Connor asked in unison.

"Maybe family problem, past experience, I don't know."

"You should talk to her. And let it all out her system, so she won't be really rude to us." Riley said.

I thought, they're only caring online but they are really caring in person. Alternatively, maybe because, one of them likes Sam. We never know until the next couple of days. I do not even know if they will talk to me again after today.

I have to find the underlying cause of this.

"That's a good idea." I said, agreeing to Riley's suggestion. "I'll just see you tomorrow."

"But, Alex, if ever she's a bit mad at us for what we have done, tell her we are really sorry." Connor said.

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind." I stated. "Bye."

"Bye." They said in unison before heading back to the stage.

Sam, you have a lot of explaining to do.

This is going to be a long night. Your unpacking can wait. We have to talk this out.

Riley's POV

Once we we're on our way back to the backstage, I can't help but wonder why Sam acted like that.

"Guys, what do you think is wrong with Sam?"

"Don't know. Maybe she's crazy." Toby stated.

"Toby, I'm serious." I glared at Toby and he just flashed his most genuine smile at me.

"I'm also serious, Riley." He mocked me. "Maybe camp is driving her crazy."

"And why would that happen, if we are still on Day 1 of camp?" Connor said.

"Yeah, why would that happen, Toby, huh?" I stated.

"Don't know." He laughed, loud enough to get attention.

"Did we do something wrong?" I questioned.

"As far as I know, we havent done anything wrong to her, except that you bumped into her earlier." Connor, you don't have to repeat that little accident.

But because of that little accident, I got to know her. She's like really beautiful. The only thing that's not nice about her is she's a bit rude. But I don't like her like that. I'm just saying she's beautiful.

"But, why do you care so much of that girl, Riley?" Toby uttered. "You like that Sam girl?!"

"What? Where did that come from?" I exclaimed.

"Maybe you are." Connor is agreeing with Toby. Why? What the fuck?

"Riley's turning red. He likes Sam." Toby shouted.

"I don't." I said.

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't."

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't."

"Can you two act like your age?" Connor scolded us both, being the older brother.

"Sorry." Toby and I said in unison.

"Let's just forget about what we've talked about." I stated.

"Riley and Samantha sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Toby sung in a baby voice.

"Shut up, Toby!" I shouted getting the attention of the next performer. My bad!

He is not going to stop annoying me until I tell him. Nevertheless, I am not sure if I really do like her. However, I am sure that I am attracted to her beautiful face, and that is it. You cannot like someone, solely for his or her face.
