1 Chapter 1: Where it began

She just never got the message.

Listening to her and her crazy accusations started to hurt my head, so my attention went out through the window. It was like this most the times with Elli. My girlfriend, about 5 foot 3 with a body of someone twice our age. Beautiful brown eyes that could drown your worries and delicate straight black hair that touched her shoulders. We've been dating for 2 years by this point and I was over it.

"You never wanna listen to me when I talk to you Jason!", she said.

Yup, thats me.....Jason. looking at me you would

see a 5'6 guy with black curly hair only 3 inches tall, stormy gray eyes and not much of a social person. How did I end up with someone like Elli? I'll never understand.

Lets take it back to 2 years ago.....when we were 15. The school year had just started and I was in the back of our class going through my work, although World History wasnt my best subject. Elli came up to me, asking if I would follow her to the principals office to drop off documents she had for him. The walk there was quiet, as we didnt know each other at all and I wasnt ready to socially invest in people at school. 'knock knock' Elli knocked on the office door.

"Come in midget!" The principal said.

A tall Hispanic guy who never wore formal. You would always see him in a red polo t-shirt and blue jeans, as if he were that type of dad that would sit home, drink beer all day and watch football.

"Set the papers there wont ya," he smiled at me.

I rested the papers on a chair to my left as we left the office. And once again it was quiet.

"Hey, thanks for your help back there." Elli said, looking down at the floor.

"No problem" I replied.

"Jason do you...I mean....are you-are you seeing anyone?" she stuttered.

"No why do you ask?"

"How would you feel about.....going out with me?"

Okay...this...this caught me off guard. Why was she even asking me out in the first place?im not that attractive and im not that tall and I tend to blend with whatever crowd im in so why me?

"Ive been looking at you the whole day today and um....I was wondering if a date sometime next week would be.....ok with you", she sounded nervous, but who am I to turn her down.

"Alright im in," I said.

Three words. Three words that changed my life. Where all of it began, and where I learned that love was a roller coaster for emotions.

The days flew by and before I knew it, it was the Saturday of our date.
