7 Recruitment

'Recruiting men to join the Phantom Pirates. Meet by the docs at midnight for entry.'

Many men looked at the small flyer that was going around, that told of a new pirate crew recruiting. However, they all had their doubts.

It was a no name crew, without the leader being named. Some assumed it to be Phantom, the man in the Black Hand Gang. But, Phantom would not leave the gang, at least they assumed he would not.

Whoever wrote this was just using the name Phantom to attract people.

This flyer made its way through taverns, and even fluttered around the streets. It even ended up in the marines hands, letting them know what was going on.

One man in the marines gripped the flyer tightly. He wore the standard marine captain uniform. His legs were propped up on his desk as he leaned back in his chair.

"Who gave you this?"

He questioned the man in front of him.

"It was passed around, no one knows who made it. But, if this means Phantom is leaving, then we can get rid of the Black Hand Gang no problem."

The man who answered him was his subordinate who was nothing but a lieutenant. He wore a white hat and black shades.

"We could, but they've been keeping up their end of the bargain so far. Wait and see what happens."

"And Phantom?"

The lieutenant asked.

"Leave him be, less of a problem for me to worry about."

The captain hated dealing with Wolf, he was slippery and hard to catch.

As the marines were discussing the flyer, Wolf was preparing for his trip. After all these years he would finally leave Lougetown. It's been a while, and every time he went to the tavern for drinks he always eavesdropped on others conversations.

Usually those people he listened to were pirates, who spoke wild tales of the sea. Wolf knew that some people never made it back from the Grand Line, as it was too hard for them.

But, his old friends were still out there. He wanted to find them, and to do that he needed to sail the Grand Line.

Why did he want to find them? Because he felt guilty, leaving them behind. Back then they were children who knew no fear. Now, all of them grew up and were wiser.

Although the two of them were pirates now, Wolf still did not forget their goal. To become the greatest pirates who sailed the sea.

What type would Wolf be? He did not know, there were many kinds. Some raided, some helped, but at the end of the day, all of them went against the world government in some form or fashion.

Wolf went around town, buying supplies for his journey. Food, alcohol, clothes, a map and finally the log pose he needed.

It was a bracelet with a glass orb sitting on top. A bit unique to look at. Wolf asked the man a few questions about the device, finding out that once the needle locked onto a magnetic wave of an island it would lead him in the direction of said island. However, he'd need to stay on that island until the log pose locked onto the next magnetic wave.

All the log pose here were already locked onto an island out on the grand line, however each of them lead to different places. Which one he'd go to, no one knew.

Wolf waited until the sky became dark before he headed off to the docks. That is where he met a tall slim man with slick black hair wearing glasses. Unlike Wolf who wore somewhat loose clothing, this young man wore black pants with a long sleeve white shirt that had a black vest on top of it.

"There was no need to recruit anyone, they will only hold us back."

The young man said to Wolf.

"They might not even show up. You don't have to manage them, so relax Kuro."

Wolf replied to the young man named Kuro.

He met Kuro two years ago when he was taking out a pirate captain. The young Kuro was onboard at that time and killed a few of the pirate crew. Wolf took out his target, telling Wolf he ruined his plan.

The two fought and Wolf won, but he befriended Kuro. He found him to be useful, and unique.

He had some weird claw-like weapons on his hand.

"They will show, out of curiosity. When they see its true that you are making a crew, there will be nothing but troublemakers. I suggest you let me handle the recruitment from here on out."

Kuro suggested.

Wolf had a large influence in the town, and when people arrived they would hasitly agree to join up with him. Wolf was a devil fruit user, and to them he was a strong person. No one could beat him, and there were rumors about him forcing the marines to submit to him.

That was not true at all, but Wolf had no time to go around trying to get rid of the rumors circulating town surrounding him.

"Whatever. Just don't kill the ones that are useful. That's the ship over there, i'll be waiting."

Wolf said before he walked down the docks to his ship.

Kuro pushed up his glasses as Wolf walked past him. His ears twitched slightly as he could hear faint footsteps approaching.

Bending down, he opened up a small bag revealing two black gloves. At the tips where each of his fingers went were blacks, no longer than a knife, but slim. They were sharp, and his weapon of choice.

As the people came to light, there were more than sixty people present.

They looked at the slim Kuro dumbfounded.

"You the one recruiting. You skinnier than my leg!"

Among the crowd of people, there was one who stuck out. He wore a brown cap but his blue hair still hung down from the sides. However, his most notable feature was his big red nose.

'I'll just beat him and turn all these men into my crew!'

Is what the big red nose man thought to himself.
