2 Caught

Wolf was breathing heavily as he sat down on the hard ground. Somehow he managed to escape the pirate ship.

Those portals appearing out of thin air helped him, he only wished they helped Ross and Angel too.

Thinking about leaving those two behind caused Wolf to feel sad. He could only think about the horrible things those two would face.

Why did it have to end up like this? Why?

Maybe they should have listened to Angel and stole from the bar instead. A pirate ship was too much for them.

Reaching into his pockets, Wolf pulled out a handful of silver coins. This was what he got in return, along with a revolver. It was not worth their lives!

Feeling weak and tired, Wolf got up slowly trying to figure out his location. There were people around walking checking out the stalls for items that might interest them. The area was pretty loud too.

It did not take him long to realize that he was still at the docks, just at another part of it. He was at the top where the merchants sold their items to the citizens or visitors.

Looking out towards the ships docked, Wolf could see the ship that he was just on.

He had the urge to go back and see if he could rescue his friends, but his body would not allow him to go forward. Deep down he was scared that he too would be captured.

If they did not kill him they would turn him into a slave. That was worse than being an orphan!

At least now he had the freedom to choose how he wanted to live his life.

A tear ran down his left cheek as Wolf gazed at the ship. He could only hope that his friends were ok. Turning away he left and went back to the abandoned house. Those pirates could still come looking for him. Wolf knew he needed to keep low for a little bit.

The thought never passed his mind that Angel and Ross could be tortured for information. If it did, he would have never gone back to that house.

Slipping in through the hole, he entered the building. The fire was still going, Wolf grabbed a piece of wood with cloth around the end of it. Moving it around in the fire he let it catch, making himself a torch.

Wolf's eyes could not help but look over all the items they had here. Fake swords, pirate hats, a map of town and a crate of fruit.

The three of them all looked up to those pirates whose name vibrated throughout the world. One day, they too would become pirates!

Wolf smiled just thinking about it.

It was too late now, how was he going to be a pirate? His friends were dead.

Angel was smart, he knew how to go places. If you needed to know how to get somewhere, Angel was the guy to talk to. Ross was fearless but had something about him that made you want to go along with his crazy ideas.

Wolf? What did he have? Nothing really. Wolf just followed those two.

He was living his life day by day, listening to their dreams, and questioning his own. All three of them were orphans, but both Ross and Angel had the same goal.

"Wolf, when we get older we'll set sail! We'll be just like Gold Roger!"

"Why not Shiki? Well, whatever! We'll be famous, the greatest pirates to ever live!"

"Com'on Wolf! It'll be fun!"

Sitting down on the ground, Wolf cried thinking about what his friends said.

They told him it would be fun, but Wolf was already having fun just playing with them every day.

Eventually, Wolf made it to the bedroom where there were three beds. He put the torch on the wall inside the holder and laid down. His eyes closed and soon he fell asleep.

That night he dreamt of the three of them on the sea leading the grandest pirate crew. Marines cursed their names, and aspiring pirates wanted to be just like them.

It was a good dream, but it did not feel like it lasted for long. Wolf woke up and it was night. His stomach was growling.

Wolf went and got some fruit, then he left.

'Pirate! I'll become a pirate!'

He told himself.

To become a pirate he needed a ship, but that would cost money. He could build one, but Wolf did not know how to do that.

Ships were always docked, he could steal one. However, that would be hard for him right now. He had no one to help him, and if he failed that would mean his life was as good as gone.

The easiest way was to make some money.

Wolf decided to stick to what he knew best. Steal food and money.

The little amount he had now would not do, he needed more.

There was a place he could go to steal some money. North in a secluded part of town was where a gang stayed. Angel was looking at that place before, telling them that it was easy money.

If they went in at night time the gang members would be drunk. As long as they used stealth they could get a lot of money.

Angel even found out the place they kept their treasure. It was guarded in the front, but there was a way to get in through the back.

The only reason that they did not steal from that place was because they wanted to try their luck at the bar first. But tonight the bar would be full, the only time they could try it was during the day time when there were fewer people around.

With a plan in his head, Wolf quickly finished his fruit and headed out.

The northern district was different, it was where a lot of gangs stayed. Gangs were different from pirates, as they tormented the locals and did whatever they wanted. They stayed in one location, while pirates moved here and there.

The district seemed darker too, that might be because the street lights were out so he could only use the light from the moon to help him. Wolf spotted a few fires in the distance as well.

Lowering his body, he stuck to the walls making sure not to be seen or heard.

Outside he saw drunken men lazing around on furniture outside, some of them even had women with them. None were looking his way which was good for him.

'There!'

Wolf spotted the place Angel described. A large singular building with a bell on top of it.

Moving quickly Wolf made his way to the building, ignoring the front entrance. Behind the building, he saw a small window that was open. It took a bit, but he managed to squeeze his body in.

He wondered how he would get the treasure out though. If he went one at a time it would take ages.

Currently, Wolf was in what seemed to be the basement. It was dark down here, but he managed to find the stairs due to him tripping over the bottom one. It hurt like crazy, but he held his cries in.

Crawling up the stairs, Wolf made sure his steps were light so the stairs would not creak or anything.

As he made it to the door, he peaked out of it and saw his prize. A chest full of money, and jewels. It was overflowing.

He was not sure how much belly that would be worth, but it should be enough to buy himself a ship.

Creeping out of the door, Wolf made his way to the chest and started pocketing what he could.

He heard a yawn as the stairs creaked, someone was coming from above.

Wolf's body froze for a moment before he ran.

The coins fell causing a sound to echo in the building.

"The hell? Check that out."

One of the guards said to another as they opened the door. Just in time too, they saw Wolf running into the basement.

"Thief! Thief!"

The guard shouted.

"He's going to the basement! Someone go around back!"

Wolf wasted no time, he hurried over to the window and started to climb out. However, his foot was yanked back causing him to fall back down to the basement floor.

There were two large men wielding swords and guns looking at him.

A portal opened itself next to him, and Wolf went right in.

"Devil fruit? That kid has a devil fruit power!"

When Wolf appeared again he was outside the building. But, there were people back there waiting for him.

How was he going to escape?

'Portal! Portal come!'

Wolf wished that mysterious portal appeared to save him again, but it did not come.

The men that surrounded him captured Wolf easily. One of them pointed his saber to Wolf's neck drawing blood.

His heart dropped.

Why was he so stupid? He should have never come here!

"You have balls kid, i'll give you that!"

"Don't kill him! Take him to the boss, he could be useful!"

One man said as he appeared around back. He was one of the men who saw Wolf take that portal to escape.

Something like that would not happen out of the blue, the kid definitely had a devil fruit power. And from what he saw, it could be very useful.

The bulky man who was holding Wolf by his collar grinned.

"Ya heard the man! You're our property now!"
