14 Pain

Falke came back late to the orphanage. Being an apprentice cook often held him back late at night. Still, the young man wouldn't want to trade the opportunity to get a job for anything else. After all, being able to get a profession was hard in Trash Valley, between the gangs, the segregation, and the nobles simply eating everything decent that was tossed away by the Celestial Dragons to here, life was quite hard on the D-layer.

Even if there were people with significantly more money than others living here, the D-layer was still the poorest area to live in. No nobles would even set foot here if they weren't obligated to, it was too 'dirty' for them. Falke scoffed as he remembered the looks the Iliac family gave him when they visited the 3rd. For all the resources the noble families of this island had, they wouldn't be able to do much without the labor of the little people.

Therefore, they would organize a trip, once or twice a year, to the D-layer. It served a double purpose.

First, it increased their popularity significantly within the population. After all, people here were taught since they are young that the nobles are the ones that even allowed their ancestors to survive on this island. There was no food, no drinkable water due to the pollution and the waste the Celestial Dragons spewed here.

And the nobles are the acclaimed, the ones that managed to create something from nothing. Well, not exactly nothing, considering that the garbage from the Celestial Dragons was generally quite resourceful, whether it was in construction material or energy-wise.

The purple liquid that alimented the island didn't appear out of thin air after all.

Still, the ennobled families took all the most precious resources, gave the scraps to the rest of the population, and settled down on the layers that were the least dangerous to mankind in Trash Valley.

The mountains of waste that people lived in were dangerous and constructed only from the materials that came from the dumping of the Celestial Dragons. The nobles however have access to everything the original inhabitants of this island left when they discovered that the World Nobles had practically signed a death sentence on the landscape of Trash Valley.

Second, the nobles still needed people to work for them in their mansions down there. The only way that they could get more people is that they come to look for them. Was it not for their lack of manpower, there was no way the nobles would even step out of their comfort zones.

Falke knew that compared to the D-layer, the A and B layers, where the nobles lived deserved their nicknames of 'Layers of Paradise'.

He kicked a metal can that was in his way in the air, annoyed by the memories that surged along with his thinking.

He entered the orphanage by the back door that he and Michael used this morning. The thought of the new kid somehow dispelled his more chaotic musing. Falke was still worried about the reaction Michael gave him when he mentioned his brother. Having lived close to orphans and people losing their families, Falke recognized that the wound for Michael was still very fresh.

Falke could swear that his words were like the first time Michael realized what he had lost. Always having a lot of empathy for people like this, Falke's eyes dropped when he thought about what he could do to cheer Michael up. He knew that nothing but time could heal those wounds, but exterior help couldn't hurt in his opinion.

But his pondering was interrupted when he bumped into one of the kids from the orphanage on his way to check on Michael.

"ouch…" mouthed the small kid. He had purple hair, the kind that wasn't too common on this island, and his androgynous face made him quite popular with the girls his age, Falke remembered. They considered that he was one of them and wanted to play with him all the time.

"You okay Cassis?" said Falke, extending his hand towards the kid that fell to the ground. Rubbing the elbow that cushioned his dive, Cassis accepted Falke's help and was brought back up with one pull from the young man.

"Be careful Falke.... every time you come back, there's always one of us that bumps into you and then he's hurting." reproached Cassis to the oldest male member of the orphanage. The high pitch of Cassis's voice and his expression forced Falke to hold off his chuckles as he promised to not do it again.

The moment Falke stepped into Michael's room, he noticed the lack of presence of the boy that was supposed to join the orphanage today. Raising his eyebrow, the young man decided to ask the people next to his room if they saw him yet. Since it was quite late, the possibility that Michael was in danger was high.

Getting negative answers from the kid in the dorms, Falke rushed towards the room where he knew he could find the tenant of the orphanage, the one he called Grandma, the kitchen. At this hour, she was probably cleaning up the tableware that the kids used to eat dinner. Since there were about 100 people in the building, cleaning up and preparing food always ended up being a hassle.

Seeing her in the kitchen, washing up utensils with a couple of young girls, he waited until she naturally noticed him to talk to her.

"Grandma, Gilgamesh disappeared!" he whispered, unwilling to worry the girls that were still washing the dishes. He especially knew that Ellie, who was among those girls, would not leave him alone if she knew that her new friend was in danger.

"W-what? Where is he?" asked Elizabeth, extremely worried about the fate of the most recent child that entered her precious orphanage. She still remembered his expression when he told her that he could take care of himself alone and that he didn't need any help.

Was it not for the fact that there was an emergency, Elizabeth would have sighed in frustration as her intuition was right once more.

"I don't know. I've asked everyone in the surrounding rooms, and nobody saw him come back from the groceries," answered Falke. "I'll go look for him, just don't alarm anybody Grandma."

Already leaving the corridor, he was interrupted by Elizabeth that grabbed his ear and started to pull it. It was humiliating for Falke that was nearly 17 this year, but that was the reason why the owner of the orphanage used this tactic against him.

"Where do you think you're going this late?" She said menacingly, truly angered by the fact that Falke was ready to disregard his safety so easily. "You will stay there and protect your siblings. Meanwhile, I'll go look for him, is that clear?"

Falke tried to protest, saying that he could handle himself better than her against others since he was a man. That last line triggered Elizabeth, who proceeded to punch him in the head hard enough that he ended up with a huge bump where he was hit.

Elizabeth was gentle and motherly most of the time, but she was strict and fiercely protective of her children. And she was not about to let Falke be in danger if she could stop it.

The revelation of the world Michael arrived into was nothing but a small reprieve from the pain he was feeling. One Piece, being one of his favorite manga, was a delight to read for his brother Kevin and was a delight to hear about for him.

However, the realization that the people he wanted to meet were far, very far away from him made him feel a bit depressed at the same time.

However, his thoughts did not last long as Lui, realizing that her prey was occupied by thoughts other than herself, struck his left eye once again. The system-augmented reflexes of Michael being the only thing that saved him from losing his eye once more.

Determined to not give Lui what she wanted, he did not scream. Even if a little bit of water came out of his eyes, making the gashes on his left eye hurt even more, he did not scream.

His resilience out of sheer spite was remarkable for a 12-year-old, but that just made his mistress mad. She laughed evilly at what she thought was a futile attempt to resist her, but she simply answered by striking him with her whip even more.

This time, she aimed for his legs, truly intending to mark every part of his body with her special touch. Each lesion was worse than the previous. Each laceration sent Michael deeper into the abyss.

But he did not break. For a moment, Lui thought that she would have to truly use her best skills to see the young boy in front of her cry in pain. However, she decided to keep that for other days.

'The best food is often cooked over long periods after all' she thought, chuckling at her jokes.

She ran her hands in Michael's hair, pressing her body onto his. Her breasts, bathed in the blood that was still coming out due to her ministrations. Even though her movements intensified the pain Michael received, he still kept his mouth shut and glared at her with all the hate he could muster in the pitiful position he was in.

"Ahh~I love it when you look at me like that, dear!" Lui moaned out, continuing to massage his scalp tenderly. She closed on his neck with her mouth and started to breathe hot air into his nape. "It just makes it more fun…"

She then violently dragged her finger across the lacerated and exposed flesh on his left eye, where the two linear gashes were. She giggled as Michael scrunched up in pain, but refused to open his mouth. Biting on his lips so hard that he drew blood.

"Lililili~" She laughed, in a truly iconic One Piece laugh that Michael would have been able to fanboy over, if he wasn't in such a precarious situation.

"I wonder, dear~ What would make you break, hmm?" she asked into his ears, not truly waiting for an answer. When she realized that Michael refused to say a word, she lifted her finger off his injury and licked the blood that was on it while staring in Michael's eyes.

She then slowly removed Michael's clothing around his waist. At the same time, she dragged one spike of her whip over the skin on his abdomen, writing the word Lui's Property with it.

Once fully removed, Lui was pleasantly surprised with the package that her slave had. "Ara~Is that for me?" She whispered although she made sure Michael heard what she said when she slowly started to stroke him.

"Up~and down~ Up~and down~" she repeated in a childish voice. In the end, despite the hatred Michael had for Lui, his body still reacted to what was given to it despite the numerous injuries it sustained. After all, none of them were even close to being life-threatening, they were just extremely painful.

She spat on her hand to lubricate Michael's dick and continued to stroke him. Meanwhile, she elaborated the writing on his abdomen, making little marks like hearts and essentially using his abdomen as a canvas. Michael was feeling unbearable pain and immense pleasure at the same time.

Due to that, he nearly gasped numerous times but managed to contain himself.

But Lui had enough of it. She engulfed in his member in one go and sighed in content once it was deep inside of her. "Ahhh~I'm going to have so much fun with you."

She didn't move for a while because she heard Michael pant when she took him in her pussy. Pleased by the fact that he finally reacted after all of these minutes of just hatred in his eyes, she decided that since the pleasure was upgraded, the pain needed to follow as well.

She bent her torso backward, grabbed one of his toes…

And broke it.

The pain was so instantaneous and so different from what he was given until now that he couldn't help but scream. Of course, that made Lui's excitement go higher as she moaned out when she heard the blood-curling howl.

"Mhhhh~Yes! Such a lovely scream!"

She started to ride Michael after seeing tears come out of his eyes.

"You see, dear… you can be so much more… sexy when you want~"

The horrible laugh of Lui, while she satisfied herself with his body, would scar Michael forever....
