63 Chapter 63

The Straw Hats stayed docked at the Baratié for six more days, Luffy was spending his days enjoying the food, getting to know his new crewmates, beating up rowdy pirates, and hunting sea kings.

He didn't need to pay since the fact that the rubber boy would help the chef catch those ridiculously large sea-kings. Sanji was quite impressed that Luffy was able to do that, even more so when it was known that Luffy couldn't swim because of him being a devil fruit user.

It seems that Sanji in this world was a lot more driven. And would practice his kicks to catch fish, larger fish… which now made its way to the smaller sea kings that roamed the area. And he was able to fish sea kings with his kicks. Eventually learning diable jambe himself.

It seemed that Sanji was ahead of Zoro in strength. Maybe even better than Kuina. And that drove the green-haired swordsman to push himself into training, even challenging Luffy and asking him to teach him a few things.

Surprisingly enough, Coby asked Kunia to train him. He didn't want to bother Luffy, as he didn't officially join his crew yet. And didn't want to burden him.

And Coby was diligent enough to go through all the training routines Luffy set up for him in the morning. After leaving Orange town, Coby was training hard with newfound motivation, now he was trying to see which fighting style works for him.

Zoro seemed a bit unapproachable and Kunia seemed to have very good knowledge of training new kids because of her father's dojo. Even if she hadn't taught new trainees for quite a while.

And so both got to it, though the pink hair was struggling a lot.

Seeing the greenhorn training, Johnny and Yosaku asked —begged— Zoro to train them. Which the three sword users grumpily agreed.

However he was on short time as well, as he would constantly fight against Luffy. Though it was more of a sparing match rather than training. Seeing Kuina far above him made him push himself even harder.

Nice weather became prominent in the area, so the grind continued.

Heck, it didn't take long for the whole restaurant to be on friendly terms with the straw hats. Carisma was one of Luffy's strongsuits. Even if he acted like 'Luffy' most of the time.

By the sixth day, Coby had lost most of his extra weight and would probably be able to hold his own in a fight.

Seeing the improvement, Luffy pushed Usopp in his own way of training, like carrying the long nose with Gepo in the air, and throwing him in sea-king's way. Only small sea-kings that were one-third of the size of the Going Mary.

And the long nose would scream and swim to save his ass. And that seemed to do the work.

He would also make him run blindfolded while Sparky would shoot at him with wooden bullets.

It might seem torture, and the long nose did complain a lot, but Usopp never skipped training. That was saying something on his part. He wanted to be strong, no denying there.

.

Kunia gave a small sigh, holding the wooden sword lazily, as Coby again fell.

"I almost had you," Coby said, sweating profusely, his hands shaky.

"You surprised me, there. But not to that extent." Kuina clarified.

Coby's spear was on the floor. The boy chose this, because of his admiration for Luffy. But it was a lot hard to use than Luffy made it out to it be. Coby was drenched in sweat, while Kunia didn't have any.

Coby felt a bit down.

"Hey, look at it this way," Kunia said. "At least, now your spear doesn't fall out of your hands before a minute."

"It's still not enough," Coby said, securing his wooden weapons on his back. "I can't even take down a good pirate with this..." he sighed, "I'm nothing but a liability."

Kunia flicked his head, "That's wrong dummy." She said, giving out an old sister vibe. It seemed other than taking out pirates, she enjoyed teaching even more, "I bet you would be able to take down any of those pirates from Usopp's island one on one at your level, except for the captain. But thinking again, you already did that with just one day of training… now you would be able to do that without Usopp's help. It might not seem much, but you have a talent for fighting. But I'm not sure spear works for your fighting style."

"Really?"

Kunia nodded with a small smile. "I won't tell you to pick up a sword either… you have a tendency to jump towards brawling. Maybe you don't even need a weapon… using your fists is always an option. You already know some basics of fighting bare handed… maybe you should improve that"

Coby was about to say something, when water from the corner of the boat.

And then Usopp jumped out of the water, "I live another day!" he cheered franticly. Breaking both Kuina and Coby out of their conversation.

"Usopp!" Luffy called out in the air, running through it.

"You will never take me, the great Captain Usopp alive." He said, running with break neck speed inside the restaurant hiding.

Kunia and Coby looked at the sniper sympathetically.

"It's a good thing I asked you to teach me." Coby said shuddering a bit. He took a glance at a two dead bodies, who weren't dead. It was Johnny and Yosaku who were over-trained with Zoro.

Well, they would look like that, but after a meal they would be just as energetic as the day he met them. Honestly, they had some insane recovery, but Luffy seemed to say that it was similar to a technique that he has.

Kunia chuckled a bit, before sighing, "But I have to say… I am still weak compared to our quirky captain." She said, but she didn't fell dejected, she felt alive for some reason. "But I won't stay weak. So, you better not either." She said pointing at Coby.

Coby stood straight, "Yes!"

"Kunia-chan!" The ero cook, I mean the good cook spun around before he presented with a plate of red decorated cake on it, "Here's your afternoon strawberry cake."

"Maybe we can take a small break." She said, and from nowhere Sanji prested a decorated table and chair. Kunia took the plate and sat comfortably enjoying the cake with bliss. Coby sweatdropped with the sudden change.
