19 A map, a book and a teacher?

"To think you would have such an amazing ability. I just thought you could transform into anything you saw. But if you can become anything I know about, or have seen before, then maybe… show me a globe representing every island and all four seas in this world."

Excited to continue the game, Morph changed his appearance yet again. It took him a moment to sort out all the details, but I didnt mind the wait. Becoming a smooth sphere with small markers dotting it's surface, Morph continued to add even more detail to the small globe. In the centre sits a large crimson line tracing all the way around the sphere, representing the Red Line.

Running across the red line is a deep blue ocean current that travels from east to west spanning the entirety of the globe. This massive current is known as the Grand Line. These two cross at the middle separating the worlds oceans into four equal parts. The North Blue, home of the Germa Kingdom. The West Blue, where Red Haired Shanks grew up. The South Blue, the birthplace of Fleet Admiral Sengoku. And finally the East blue, where Luffy and I currently reside.

The four blues are further separated from the waters of the Grand Line by the strangely still area of the ocean known as the calm belt, a place where the wind and waters are always stagnant and unmoving. Where the largest of sea kings come to breed and make their home.

Scattered across the four blues on the tiny circular globe created by Morph, are a plethora of small islands. Most of the area within the South, West and North blues are nearly empty due to my lack of knowledge pertaining to these four seas, while the East blue and the Grand Line on the other hand are the most mapped out.

There are even markings for the Sky Islands 10,000 meters above sea level, as well as one for Fishman Island within the gap beneath the Red Line at the bottom of the ocean, 10,000 meters below the surface.

Of course these are only rough guesses at best. Nothing here is to even close scale. But its proof of concept. Morph can do so much more than I imagined he could.

"Now add in the approximate location of all the all filler islands as well." I remarked while looking over the globe Morph created from my memories. A mock representation of the world I'm currently living on. Small ripples cascaded across its pristine surface as several new islands appeared, filling in more of the blank space, but not by much.

"I thought you could do it, but to actually see all the islands laid out like this… you even put Marie Geois on top of the Red Lone. Well done Morph. With you around who needs to buy a map? I can just take one look and have you recreate it for me." I said while feeding the floating globe a piece of snake jerky I made a few days ago while stroking the metallic exterior of the globe. A mouth formed at its mid section as my hand neared, devouring the whole piece of jerky in a single bite before the globe moved and nuzzled into my palm.

"Hey! Watch the fingers. You may not have teeth, but your insides are no

laughing matter." Even as I spoke the small piece of jerky was being dissolved in inside him, slowly melting until nothing remained.

"Burp- Heh, excuse me." Morph said politely after belching straight in my face and retaking his original pinkish form. His squeaky voice making him all the cuter.

After fooling around with the little guy and letting off some steam to clear my head, I decided it was best if I chronicled my knowledge of the One Piece world while its still fresh. I'll write down everything I know, no matter how insignificant it may seem. That way ill be prepared for the plot when Luffy finally leaves dawn island.

I can't risk anyone finding it either. Since I'm basically writing about future events. Or possible future events… I should probably write it in code too… wait! I can use Hebrew! That language shouldn't exist in this world. Even if it does, what are the odds someone who speaks it will try to read my journal?

That's actually perfect.

Without wasting anymore time I pulled out a musty old book with mostly blank pages. Likely some unfinished manuscript. Picking up a rusty pen I started to write. Each page contained my knowledge of different arcs. The characters who made the most impact on the story got their own pages as well. Along with devil fruits and everything I know about all of the seven seas.

It would take days to finish what I started. There was just so much information to write down. Especially if the movies, and filler characters are real. But I can't say this information will ways be in my head. As the years go by i may forget things. At least this way I'll have it all written down. And anytime I remember something I'll put it in the book.

Before the sun had set completely, I put down the notebook, stretched my arms and decided to go look for Naguri once more. Had my mind not been so focused on the implications of his presence I would have asked him to train me right there and then.

That man, who spent the last few years digging through trash, is the only filler character in all of One Piece to posses Conquers Haki. A man whose crew once fought against the crew of the King of the Pirates. Sure Naguri may have lost, but he and his entire crew survived.

Ignoring someone like him to keep training by myself would be stupid. I'm no martial artist. I hadn't even been in a real fight before coming to this world. There's also the fact that in the anime this is the man who trains Luffy, Ace and Sabo for a short time before the fire in the Grey Terminal. Which is the only reason I remember him at all.

If someone with his strength can guide me towards a more ideal training method then who am I to waste such an opportunity? Thankfully he was right where I last saw him. He had only moved one trash pile over.

Still standing atop the debris, digging though scraps, looking for anything he can salvage. The same as every one else around here really. But unlike the other common scavengers this man has a purpose beyond just finding less crappy junk to sell.

He's dragging all the best materials and equipment to the outskirts of the Grey Terminal, where he's building a ship of his own on the coast of the island. Hauling lumber and anything useful out with him as he prepares to venture out to sea once more. Intent of finding his scattered crew and having one final so at things. Without knowing how to approach him i decided to just be truthful.

"Please train me! I want to get stronger!" I said sincerely after getting his attention and standing in front of him once again. I decided it was best not to beat around the bush. With people like him staring them straight in the eye and voicing your determination is the best method… I think.

"Uh, sure kid. I'll train you, but why ask me?" Naguri asked as he took a long draw from his pipe, exhaling a thick plume of smoke in the shape of a perfect circle.Deciding not to hesitate I chose to double down and speak truthfully.

"Because your a former pirate who once sailed the Grand Line and even made it to the New World! You are by far the strongest person in the Grey Terminal. I plan to sail the seas one day. And there's no one better around here to learn from than you." I stated succinctly without a hint of deceit. My golden irises shone, reflecting my resolve.

'A real life pirate. And a man who has clashed with Gol D. Roger.' My body trembled as I clenched my fists. 'How much stronger can I become if someone like him trains me? Right now I'm like an unpolished gem. The potential is there, but if I don't have the right environment or the necessary determination then it will al be for naught.'

For a time Naguri didn't speak. He merely seemed content to puff on his pipe and stare down at me from beneath the tattered brim of his worn old hat. I didn't back down. I held firm and maintained his gaze until he spoke again.

"What do you know of the New World?" He asked, picking out the words and honing in on them as his eyes widened ever so slightly as if to get a better look at me. Even still they were hidden by his thick bushy eyebrows.

I couldn't help but flinch as I saw the suspicious and curios look he gave me. Seems I slipped up when speaking. No need to lie now. The more interested he is in me, the more likely he is take my training seriously.

"An Island that rains lighting. An archipelago made of food. An island of giants dwarfed by the tree in the centre. And an island of Samurai, cut off from. the outside world." I listed off the things that stood out to me when I thought of the New World. The more I spoke the more Naguri's eyes widened, until they were complete visible from beneath the furry caterpillars on his face.

"I only know what I've been told from stories. Tales I was lucky enough to hear from a man with more knowledge of this world than perhaps any other." I said while thinking of Oda and my time reading One Piece. I couldn't help the fond smile that came to my face.

"I want to see it all with my own eyes and to do that I need to be strong. Strong enough to handle anything that Hellish Sea can throw at me. So please, train me in the best way you know how. Prepare me for all that you can. I won't ask anything more of you than that. I'll handle my own food and I don't need a bed. I'll even help you carry lumber and materials to help you with whatever you want built. I can even pay you if that's your wish."

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was begging. In truth this isn't some chance encounter like meeting Rayleigh or Shanks. But for someone only familiar with this world through the manga, anime and movies, having someone with real world experience be my guide is an absolute must.

"Hmm, I see." Naguri said as he took a long puff from his pipe, "If your that determined, I see no reason to refuse you. But I'll warn you now, if you whine or complain even once I'll stop training you. The Grand Line isn't something to take lightly and the New World is the most dangerous part of all. It's a gathering of all sorts of individuals from all across the world. And that's not even mentioning those born there. Are you sure you can handle that?" Naguri asked, shocking me slightly as I didn't expect him to be so candid.

"I'm sure!" I replied without hesitation. Resolve burned clear in my golden eyes.

"Well then, we might as well get started."
