6 Leaving the island

I appear in the familiar dark expanse, and quickly I am informed, just like before, that I need to dodge for thirty seconds. The ring pops up and that whit being launches his attack again, I instinctively dodge to the side, narrowly missing the fast attack.

Cold sweat forms on my forehead because this attack is much worse than I remember, Since I am stronger I can appreciate how fast it was. It is still within my limits though, It continues its attacks, slowly speeding up, forcing me to dodge faster and faster.

It was not as strong as what I had seen in my enlightenment, but it was much faster. There had to be a trick to this one, but I am currently brute forcing it by instinct and because my strength is higher. I start trying to make the smallest amount of movements to dodge, making minimal effort to dodge at the slightest margin.

I slowly start entering a state of minute subtlety, combining my observation haki, I am dodging at less than an inch each time. After thirty seconds it disappears and a pedestal appears with a book and fruit. I walk up to the pedestal and I read the book first, it is an evasion technique for the water fruit, when I am in a water state, It will help me when fighting with people who can use haki, it also allows for the ability to walk on water.

I decide to go to the next trial, I appear in the dark expanse, yet this time a huge obstacle course appears of me. This one is pretty straightforward, I just have to accomplish it in under one minute. I start running along the course, using the wind to assist me, yet I find it is harder than I actually thought.

After a lot of random obstacles I make it to the top and press a button, signifying I passed it. The familiar pedestal appears with the book and the fruit. It is a movement technique for the lightning fruit. It transforms just my feet into lightning, allowing me to move faster in a certain way.

I put away the thoughts of further trials, because I have so much to work on for the next five years. I have to try being able to change between elements now, as well as transforming multiple elements at once. Not to mention I have not even started on training conquerors haki.

I finally have proper time for a nap, although my circulation technique can remove exhaustion to an extent, I have been awake for more than ten years.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After I wake up, I decide to start training the easiest, which is conquerors haki. I go around the island, pressuring various beast with my will. I eventually am able to get a grasp on it to the point where it affects only one person, or a very large area. I mastered it in about six months.

I start to work on the two techniques I just got from the trial grounds. With the lightning movement technique, I found being able to remove the air resistance with my wind fruit, significantly improves the speed. There is a small lake on the island where I train with my water fruit, mixing it with my close combat technique, forming something similar to fish-man karate.

I improved my control over all the fruit powers I have, space is the freakiest, it allows me to move through solid objects when I morph into it. I can also partial transform now, with different elements in different places.

The biggest accomplishment is an attack skill I made using the lightning powers. I hold Mors in its sheath, as I power it with lighting, making it want to just jump out. Then I preform a draw sword that is faster than the speed of sound, making a sonic boom. I call it the 'Thunder Draw.'

I also managed to incorporate wind powers into the sword orbit, making it much harder to penetrate. I also figured out how to teleport with the space powers, but it is limited in distance for now.

While working on all of this almost five years pass, leaving around two months until Luffy sets off and meets Alvida and Koby. I decide to set off a little early, making a dinghy from a tree. Before I set off I remember a promise I made.

Out of all the beast on the island, the strongest one is actually the smartest, and I made good friends with it. I've met up with it a few times in the last five years. I once asked it if it wanted to go with me. I rush towards the center of the island and once I arrive I make a shrill *caw* sound.

It is responded with another one as a dark shadow swoops down form the trees. A bird resembling a crow, around 15 inches tall lands on my shoulders. "Hello Tene." That is the name I gave this bird, It may be small but it is truly scary, it is almost as fast as me when I use the lightning movement technique, and its feathers are as hard as steel and just as sharp.

"I am about to leave Tene, still want to go with me?" It nods its head and rubs its head against my cheek. I give it a little pat and make my way back to the dingy, I collected various trees and metals on this island, so I will have something to sell for money when I leave.

With that I lay down on the dinghy and give it a little push out to sea with the wind, the start of a journey, from my perspective. This is the story of Iyin D. Williams, The Elementalist. One of the most feared pirates of all time under the pirate king.
