1 chapter 1 EDWARD NEWGATE AND THE ABANDONED CHILD

Edward Newgate, a pirate known as the glaive of the sea by the marines and has a bounty of 687 million berries at the age of 26, ate the infamous tremor tremor fruit 7 years ago at the age of 19 as a gift from a very rich merchant who wanted to show his gratitude to Newgate for saving him from pirates, these were the days when he was a bounty hunter and he needed to gain money to send back to his friends at the sphinx island. and since the highest bounty used to be 100 million in the grand line he used to get it by dueling and winning but it wasn't consistent and till he gained the money his people back on the island used to starve so he took the opportunity to join a pirate crew called the grumpy pumpkin pirates and as a new world pirate crew they needed strong individuals and Newgate had the best potential. he joined them when he was 24 years old and it has been two years since then.

Newgate wore an open dark gray vest and a black bandanna. he was well proportioned and his muscles seem to grow every time he used his quake powers.

he was looking at the vast sea and fantasizing surrounded by many people and they were all calling him 'pops' or 'dad' and he was laughing along with them while they were partying. these small dreams and fantasies are what kept Newgate sane in the chaotic seas, and a person who has lived in the sea ever since he was 12 he would have gone crazy a Long time ago if it weren't for his dream of someday having a family of his own and his personality of never breaking his principles.

As he was in his Dreamland, his haki picked up a weakening life sign. he looked and saw a small boat, he used his Devil fruit to bring the boat closer, and when he saw the cause of the life sign he immediately took it and went to the kitchen and broke open a barrel of water.

seeing the giant of a man barging in breaking the doors of the kitchen angered the ship cook, shakky a 24-year-old who was the cook and head of intelligence ran towards Newgate angry but and shouted

'' NEWGATE DON'T BARGE IN AND DESTROY KITCHEN ! '' but her anger turned into panic seeing the thing in Newgate's hand, it was a small baby boy, malnourished and on the brink of death. her motherly instincts took over and took the infant from Newgate's hand and took him to the doctor

she calmed down when the child was responsive under the doctors observation . she observed the infant and took him to the ship doctor, the doctor had told him that the child was 6 months old and hasn't had food for 4 days so he told him not to miss a meal.

late at night, the infant was sleeping in shakkys bed, and shakky and Newgate were sitting silently at a table while a lamp gave them light.

'' I'll drop him off in the next island maybe they have an orphanage'' shakky said hesitation clearly in her voice, even though she knew the way the sea works and can kill thousands of people without blinking but the kid had warmed up to her and a deep feeling rose from her heart to see the infant grow and become a grown man. As it says a sane woman can never abandon an infant and this was the last of her sanity acting.

Newgate kept quiet and looked at the flickering candle in the lamp and a determined look appeared on his face

'' I will take him in ''

shakky was stunned and said '' do you think I don't want to keep him? we have to leave him if not he will see things that he isn't supposed to ! and don't forget about captain !''

Newgate didn't change his decision and looked at shakky in a dominant way

''I will keep him and no one can take him away from me I put that on my blood and if the captain and his fuck friends want to try anything then ill make them remember why I am called the glaive of the sea ''

Newgate spoke in a tone that sent shivers up shakkys spine and the way he talked turned her on she rubbed her thighs together and kept herself reeled and asked

'' what will you name him? ?''

'' his name will be.....EDWARD LINCOLN ''

12 years later

Lincoln was a cheerful kid who knew his way around things, he was naive but still pretty knowledgeable about things regarding fights. unfortunately, he had to spill blood at a very young age, the vice-captain of the ship tried to capture him but Lincoln took the dagger his father gave and stabbed the vice-captain through the eye and to the brain in turn killing him since this was not the first time a person had been killed in the ship that used to be crewmates. his pops took care of the problem by threatening to leave.

Lincoln was a prodigy in weapons and since he wanted to be like his pops he started training in the naginata and pistol from his aunt shakky. he also was a prodigy in swordsmanship so he practiced that too and since he used to live with pirates there were several times when he had to fight and kill but before that, he used to hide under his pops bed to stay away from his enemies . after training since he was 4 he had gained the strength equivalent to a tier 6 vice admiral.

NEWGATE POV

it has been 12 years since I made Lincoln my son, and he has grown out of my expectations. he has gained enough strength as the tier 6 vice admiral before haki. and since his 12th birthday is about to happen I will teach him a present.

''hmm...? who is that ?'' shakky who was beside me asked squinting his eyes and I told her I didn't know but all of a sudden the guy shouted

''I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DAVY BACK FIGHT, GRUMPY JILL !!!''

''Who are you ?'' the captain asked and he replied by saying

'' ME ..? I AM ROCKS .D. XEBEC THE FUTURE EMPEROR OF THE WORLD''
