After Evans was sent flying he slammed in the ground and cough mouthful of blood, he knew that this is not the time to joke so he quickly got up and start healing his broken ribs.

"Which sick bastard that taught this group of monkeys Armed Haki "

Evans didn't believe that a group of monsters can really learn Haki in their own even if they had some intelligent.

"But, this is the perfect opportunity to learn Haki from them, so "

After he got up, he spite the blood that was still in his month and then he launch himself toward this monkeys, which they took it as provocation, so they communicate between themselves to teach this stinky human a lesson.

Of course Evans suffer a major defeat, even though this monkeys are only able to use armed Haki, but they're quite intelligent, so Evans spend 2 weeks running and being beaten by this group of crazy sadistic monkeys, they didn't inflect major damage to him, they simply enjoyed their chase, but Evans really felt that this was the worst period of his life, fortunately no one was here to witness this humiliation, after 2 weeks he finally was able to use armed Haki, but it was still worse comparing it to the monkey's Haki, so he spent another month of non stop fighting to be in equal footing with them, now even if they gang up on him he won't lose but he won't win either, that because he restricted himself from using his ability and only fought with Haki.

3 months later he was able to last half a day on each exercise, which was quite impressive, he was also able to harden his armed Haki, but the most progress he made is controlling the range of his observation Haki, now he doesn't have to worry about being discovered by that monster, as for his devil fruit ability, he was able to replicate some moves from his memories, like making group of wood with sharp end.

Now he was training to mix his Haki with the woods he create, if he succeeded, his strength will increase by leaps and bounds, but the consumption of stamina will be big, that's why he is trying to improve his physical abilities and not to relay only on his ability, he knows that his ability has many advantages when used right, but that doesn't mean it's the best devil fruit, like any other fruit, it has her own strength and weaknesses, like if one day he fought someone who has a fire ability, his woods will be vulnerable to powerful fire, that's why he's trying to train his body and Haki, to eliminate this weakness, he want to reach the point where without relaying on his fruit abilities, just by using his body and Haki to fight the powerhouse that are standing on the top of this sea,

On his 8 month on the island, Evans was still fighting the monkeys, it's better to say bullying, because he far surpass them 2 months ago, but he didn't find any other monsters that can use Haki, so he can only fight them, even though his improvement slowed down, he already knew the reason, because haki can grow faster in the life and death fights, but he still wasn't sure that he can fight the monster that resident in central of the island.

On his way back to the beach after beating the monkeys that humiliated him in the past, he noticed there is a noise coming to his way, so he stopped moving and waited to see which monster is coming to cause him trouble, after staying here for 8 months, most monsters avoid him, after waiting for 3 minutes he was finally able to see the monster that was coming for him, which made him surprise, because Infront of him is 7 meter tall monkey, no it should be called monkey king, he has huge frame, there is hint of intelligent in his eyes, he stopped 20 meters away from Evans and kept looking at him like how predator looks at the prey.

After Evans saw that the monkey didn't make any move, he grew curious, so he release his observation Haki to know his emotions and feelings, what he felt from the monkey isn't hunger or anger or fear like most monsters in the island feel when facing him, the emotions of the monkey king at the moment is excitement and longing, Evans was puzzle first, then he understood, it looks the king Infront of him like to fight but the others are no match for him so he felt bored, indeed it will be boring once you reach the peak of power but don't have anyone to fight with, that will make you give a 100% of your strength.

After understanding this, Evans was grinning and showing white teeth, because he felt this king will help him make a step forward in his armed Haki.
