2 The lion

5 years have passed since that fateful day that Don has met the lion and currently he was looking at his reflection in the nearby river. While looking at the reflection, he could see a young looking face which was accompanied by black messy hair and golden eyes with a vertical scar on his right eye. That was the memory that the lion left on him from the first time they met 5 years ago.

After looking at his reflection in the water for about 30 seconds, he could sense a presence behind that was ready to jump on him. The presence belongs to a massive bear with countless scars on his body.

The bear takes his stance and strikes at the human in front of him but his eyes went wide as his claws seemed to hit metal not flesh. The bear is extremely confused as he thought the human was there, but after he looked more carefully he could see the metal in a human head shape, but as soon as he realized this his arm was cut off in a flash by a totally black blade. As the detached arm falls on the ground the bear looks in front to see a human with a big scar on his right eye, but as soon as he looks in his eyes. He was struck by overwhelming fear of this human and hurriedly runs away.

Don stood tall at around 2.5 meters tall despite his age and looks at the bear as he runs away. In that small fight Don has used observation haki and armament haki but the conquerors haki was unintentionally as it just leaked out due to his poor control over the haki. In these 5 years he has mastered observation haki and his armament haki started to take its form, he first used the conquerors haki just this week so his control is close to none existent.

Don just sighed as he looks at the departing bear and makes us his mind to control his willpower in order to use conquerors haki efficiently. Don managed to learn all this haki from the lion but this year he suddenly stopped training Don and just tells him hes too lazy to train him anymore and to train alone from now on. After hearing the lion say this he just looks at him with annoyance in his eyes, this lion is very lazy and uses Don to get his food and so that is the reason Don is out in the forest and hunting, but hes on a break so he didnt kill that bear.

After finishing his hunt he started walking back to his home which is a wooden palace built by Don himself. Inside the Palace lives countless servants collected by Don. These servants were pirates which voyaged to Rusukaina and Don captured them and started using them as his servants/slaves. Among these people there was a panda named Pan which Don invited to be in his crew as his right hand man, the panda had armament haki and was around Don's age but didnt look like he was 5.

"yo captain what's for dinner?" says pan as he looks at Don which entered the palace with a big bag on his back.

"Its crocodile and gorilla." Says Don with indifferent eyes.

"sweet I haven't had gorilla in a while! HEY lion get down for dinner!!" says Pan as he looks at the stairs to see if hes coming. After seeing no response he ordered a servant to get lion downstairs but when the servant comes back he says.

"Lion-sama says he doent want to be interrupted from his nap!" shouts the servant as he tells Pan what the lion said.

After hearing the words of the servant a tick mark appears on Pans forehead as he shouts.

"you bastard lion, get down here before I make you" shouts Pan as he storms upstairs to get the lion.

Don just ignores their antics as he heads outside for a breather, he decides to just go for a walk while he contemplates the future.

'once I master my haki and swordsmanship i want to get a really powerful devil fruit. Hmmm.... maybe Enels fruit... but that would take too much time and effort to get to Skypia. well I doesnt really matter I will eat the first interesting devil fruit I see.' and just as he says that he spots a strange fruit with swirls.

"speaking of devil fruits it seems I have come across my first one, but I wont eat it until I know what it does exactly. It could be a useless devil fruit like a pillow pillow fruit which allows you to turn into pillows, imagine that." Says Don as he picks it up and looks at it.

Not knowing what the fruit is about he takes it back to talk to the lion about what it actually does.

As he enters his palace he hears a lot of screaming from Pan and the lion arguing but they stop arguing as they see Don walking inside with a devil fruit in hand.

"Hoo... you found a devil fruit." says the lion while looking at the fruit with a smirk.

"Really what does that fruit do." says Pan with curiosity while walking towards Don and picking the fruit up and inspecting it.

"hahaha... that is perhaps the rarest devil fruit in existence with only one user in recorder history." says the lion while laughing.

This caught Don's attention and he takes the fruit from Pan and starts walking towards the lion with curiosity in his eyes.

"what fruit is it then?" asks Don while waiting to get the answer.
