21 Revenge Against Loki

We set our main destination to Scantimavia. Yes, it is the island's name. I was surprised to see the striking name resemblance to Scandinavia from my previous world, which consisted of today's countries Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

That island was always covered with snow, and vegetation was less. Due to these reasons, this island produced many pirates, much like their Earth counterparts in 9th to 11th centuries.

This island also had the base of operations for the Valhalla trading group and a villa. It was Thor, Loki, and Odin's old home. Now, only Loki stays there among the family.

We had two targets. Captain Hamster and Loki. Hamster cannot run away from his base, since that will mark him as a deserter in the marines, which will earn him a bounty. Also, why will he be scared of us since he has a base protecting him?

Moreover, the marines must have come to the conclusion that we used some sea-stone to fight Zabuza since according to headquarters's intel, we defeated Zabuza but ran away from Hamster, something anyone with haki will not do.

Loki however can flee at any given time. He does not have a base protecting him. He has his own bodyguards and also the staff from the company who protects the shipment ships from pirates, but that fails in comparison to a marine base. Thus making him our first target.

I hope he is overconfident in his staff and does not run away, as that will give us more work to find him.

The island was 3 days far from Swallow Island on Mare Miraculum. If it was any normal ship, it will take more than 3 weeks to travel in a common wind flow, but we had all sorts of mechanisms for speed, from modern sailboat sailing technology to electric motors.

We were again ready with anticipation. Thor and Hodur were restless and seeing them we were restless as well.

We also had a side destination to a small uninhabited island on our way. This is the island where Arjun and Hercules kept their riches.

Once we reached the island, Arjun made a drill with his devil fruit and started digging at a certain spot. Soon we took out the treasures.

Hercules: "It is up to you now captain"

Jai: "It seems I have to make some rules regarding treasure splitting"

"Rule 1: If any crew member earns some money or treasure without the crew's help at all, they will have the sole right to those treasures. The pre-condition is that their duties to the crew must not be affected."

"Rule 2: If the crew earns a certain amount of treasure, 30% will go to the ship's vault by default. Consider it tax. It will be used for the crew's common expenses like food, ammunition, etc. The rest 70% will be distributed among members according to their contribution when earning the treasure"

"Rule 3: The ship's vault cannot be used for anyone's personal gains including mine. If it has to be used, it will need the permission of the majority of the crew members."

"Rule 4: The special or rare treasures like sea-stone, named weapons, devil fruits, etc will be treated differently compared to the other treasures which are basically just money. Treasures like these will go directly to the ship's inventory."

"From there it will be decided who the treasure will belong. The person who will contribute such treasures will be properly compensated obviously. This is so that, someone does not use some special item or devil fruit that does not suit them at all. After all, I don't want even my future weaker members to die because of a cursed weapon. As for devil fruits, I will decide who it will go to. And to keep it absolutely fair, I will never consume a devil fruit. The member who I give a devil fruit has full right to refuse it"

"Rule 5: No corruption. That is no corruption will be tolerated in any way even by me. This includes management of the ship's treasury, purchasing of goods, oppression of lower members by members of higher positions, etc."

"Any objections?"

Thor said, "I have an objection. I don't agree with you about never consuming a devil fruit. You are the strongest among us and you will only be stronger with devil fruit. Any member current or future won't doubt your integrity"

I replied, "I am not interested in a devil fruit. I will follow the path of body tempering, haki, weapon mastery, and martial arts. In fact, I believe devil fruits will not suit me at all."

Law asked "Are you sure? I am sure we will be able to extract some good devil fruits with time. Please rethink that"

"I am 100% sure, in fact, 200%. Don't worry, I will still maintain the position of the strongest in the crew even without a devil fruit". I said the last line with a smug which mainly earned a challenging look from both Thor and Hercules and an annoyed look from the others.

Drake: "If you say so."

Jai: "Any other objections?"

Others nodded in 'no'.

Jai: "So Hercules, that should clarify how these treasures should be handled"

Hercules: "But what will we do with so much money? It seems weird to have so much personal wealth when you guys don't have so much. I get that you guys donated almost all of your money to the orphanage, but the crew will need more money to run eventually"

Thor: "Don't worry about it. We will make a lot of money. We just need to extract the information from our beloved uncle Loki and we will get all his riches"

Next, we departed for Scantimavia.

As usual, we kept training in the seas by swimming and diving, to check for shipwrecks.

Like this 3 days had passed and we reached Scantimavia.

Before reaching, we scouted out the island with Wolf's telescope and we used the submarine mode to reach the island so as to not alert anyone.

Once we reached the shores, we teleported out using Law's ability. Using his observation haki and a large-sized room he can teleport us outside and inside the ship as long as the ship is very close to the shore. The ship was obviously in submarine mode and underwater.

The island was in an uproar even before we arrived.

Searching should not be a problem for any of us as long as we take care of the guards who are occupying a few high places for keeping a lookout and each of them has a bell near them. Seeing this, all we did was used conqueror's haki to knock them out.

I said "Split up everyone and search for Loki. And if you fight anyone, try keeping the casualties to the minimum, but your life holds the highest priority, so take decisions accordingly. Gather back here after 3 hours"

Soon we split up and started searching for Loki. We did not barge straight into his mansion because he must be expecting us there and there is a considerable chance that he is not there already. In fact, there is a bigger chance that he has already fled this island. But only by searching and gathering clues we can know the truth.

The ones with bounty searched without revealing themselves since we might be extra famous here. The ones without bounty mixed in the crowd posing as travelers to gather information.

I kept searching and also scanned the mansion with my haki. Inside it, there were many strong presences. Each of us had a photograph of Loki and we matched it with everyone who looked remotely similar. After everyone's search is complete, and if we do not find any clue to Loki, we will barge into the mansion for Loki.

Soon, 3 hours passed and we gathered back in the meeting spot. Thor had brought an old lady.

Sachi: "Who is this old lady Thor?"

However, before Thor could answer anything, the old lady approached Hodur with tears in her eyes. She placed her hands on Hodur's cheeks and said

"My child Hodur, you have grown well. I am so glad that you are safe."

She soon told us her backstory and it was tragic. She was a resident here and had a happy family with her husband and sons. But one day, pirates attacked and they died. A few years after that, she was hired by Odin as a nanny and house help when Thor's mother was pregnant. She was very much attached to the boys and cared for them like her own children probably because of her own past.

After she got the news that the family was wiped out, she broke down completely. She became a roaming beggar and used to drink her sorrows. But after she saw the bounty posters of Thor and Hodur, she got back to her old mental state and she stopped drinking. She too suspected that Loki was behind all this, but even she could do nothing about it, however, after knowing that both the boys were alive, she started keeping a track of Loki and collected any kind of information about him. She too figured out that they will come back for revenge.

During her entire story, I kept checking if she was lying and she did not lie.

The old lady was smart. She used to purchase alcohol and sprinkle it over her body and used to act drunk. That allowed her to eavesdrop on many conversations.

She said "All of you children just go back. Loki has hired many strong fighters and bounty hunters. All of them are in the mansion to guard him. He even kept them hidden inside so that when you attack him, they will ambush you. Master and Madam won't come back, but you are alive, so forget this"

I get what she was thinking. For ordinary civilians, even devil fruits or super strength is a myth. The presence inside is strong, but only if we compare it to average North Blue combatants. We are easily above average even in paradise,

So I said, "Grandma, don't worry, have you heard of devil fruits?"

She said "Yes. But are they not myths?"

I signaled Drake, Arjun, and Bepo. Drake transformed into the hybrid mode, Arjun made some iron spikes, and Bepo froze a small part of the ocean. She was shocked to see this. I said

"See they might be strong, but we have very strong devil fruits. In front of devil fruits, even strongest of the strong and armies do not matter"

It was obviously a blatant lie. But again, if it convinces grandma, it works. She seemed to have agreed.

She said, "Ok, if you say so, but you are the captain, so you must ensure their safety."

I obviously agreed.

Now we moved to the mansion leaving grandma on the shore. After entering the mansion, we were greeted by many of those "strong" people. Sitting behind them on a couch, was Loki holding a spear.

"Welcome my dear nephews. I did not expect you to survive that day. That useless Zabuza and Haku let you escape. Serves them right. But today I have hired many strong people and none of them are devil fruit users. So you can drop that sea stone hammer now, my dear Thor"

I did not have any words for this. If Thor and Hodur's emotions were not going haywire, I would have laughed at this. Sea stone hammer? Not hiring people with devil fruits? Did he just dig his own grave by not hiring some potential good devil fruit users? He dug his grave anyway. Even good devil fruits could not save him now.

On closer inspection, we could see that the people were using excellent quality weapons from rocket launchers to miniguns. But Thor's eyes were on Loki. He said

"You don't deserve that spear. It belonged to my father. It is a disgrace that you are holding it"

Loki just laughed and commanded, "Kill them all"

Bullets rained on us, but we just dodged them. Hercules and Arjun did not have haki, but dodging bullets was nothing to them. Even now they can defeat Bepo, Penguin, and Sachi.

Soon, we took care of all of them with ease. Loki was scared shit now.

Thor and Hodur simply used their haki to pressurize him more. Loki did not faint from it, but it still shook him. Hodur picked up his father's spear and Thor simply raised his hammer.

Both of them started attacking Loki at different parts while keeping him alive and conscious. Loki screamed like crazy, but none of them stopped.

They also started interrogating about his wealth, and soon Loki spilled everything

Loki started begging them "Please, not anymore I am sorry. I did not want to kill him, but the underworld threatened us"

It was a pure blatant lie.

Hodur simply pierced Loki's thigh and twisted his spear

"Did grandmother not teach you lying is very bad? Now the complete story"

He said: "It is true that the underworld offered us a deal. Odin outright refused, but I was tempted. Soon, I made the plan and killed Odin. Post that I approached them again and this time we had the deal"

Suddenly he got an idea

"Don't kill me, or else the underworld will not leave you alive. They are very concerned about their business"

Jai: "They won't bother to spend resources on us. We did not ruin them or heavily impacted their business. Yes, they have to find your replacement, but that's nothing difficult for the underworld."

Loki knew that we caught on to his bluff. He had no other hope to hold on to.

Thor and Hodur: "Supreme torture combo"

Hodur slashed his spear in Loki's eyes blinding him and Thor smashed his eggs with the hammer.

Loki was rolling on the ground and crying in pain. His screams could be heard outside the mansion and that scared the civilian and Valhalla staff.

Thor picked up Loki and threw him into the ocean, mainly to get saltwater into his already bleeding wounds. Loki was beyond miserable.

They picked him up and did not give the final blow and left Loki to die by blood loss.

His screams receded and soon he died.

The grandma came to them and said "My children, you have finally completed your revenge. Now you can take over your father's business"

Thor said "Sorry grandma, but we are wanted pirates and we also have a corrupt marine to kill to complete the revenge. It will never be possible for us to take over the company"

We spent the night there and had a talk with grandma. She also came to know their story after Odin was attacked and she thanked me for saving them. She also came to know the entire story of Captain Hamster.

We took anything valuable from Loki and his fighters on the island and made a decent amount of money and gave the grandma a good portion of it on the condition that she will take care of herself and not spend it on booze.

She finally said "Are you sure that you have to attack a marine captain? The marines will take you much more seriously if you attack them in their base"

I said, "They will be after us either way since we know about their corruption and they will want us to shut up"

The next day, Hodur came up to me and handed over the spear.

"Jai, this is a cursed weapon and according to the new rules, I hand this over to you"

The spear was beautiful and cursed.

I simply smiled and said, "In that case, I give the spear to you."

Looking at Penguin, I asked, "Since you are the only other spear wielder here, do you have any objections?"

Sachi laughed and said "You know my answer. Take it Hodur. You deserve this the most in the crew and also it is your father's memento"

Having some curiosity, I asked Hodur

"Hodur send a flying attack into the sea without haki"

He did that and it was perfectly normal. Slightly stronger than his old attack with his old spear but normal.

"Now infuse your haki and send one attack"

He did that and the attack was much stronger than his ordinary haki attacks and his hand shrank too. I quickly said

"Call back you haki now!"

He struggled a bit and used his conqueror's haki and slowly his haki returned. He struggled much more than Zoro.

Since Hodur could do it, I could only guess that the spear's curse was not as strong as Enma's, or else Hodur might have died. After all, nobody other than Oden could wield Enma in the entire Wano and certainly, Hodur could not have wielded the spear if it was on Enma's level.

I asked him "Are you sure that you want to wield it now? This might bite you back in your future fights. But if you can command it you will be much stronger"

He thought and answered "Yes. I will wield it and I will control it. It is just a matter of time"

Law: "By the way, what is the spear's name? It must be a named weapon"

Thor said "It is called Gungnir and it is one of the 21 Great Grade Swords"

All of us looked at the spear with awe

Penguin asked, "It is a spear, why is it in the sword category?"

I said "Apparently all bladed weapons are considered as swords when classifying them. Whitebeard's Murakumogiri is a bisento but it is classified as a sword"

Soon we departed from the island to the Marine base. We will take Loki's riches hidden in other islands later.
