2 Strange Toddler

Chapter 2

Around one month passes since Garp left me with Dadan. Growing up in the same place with mountain bandits one would think that it wouldn't be good and as the leader of the bandits, Dadan would be bad at taking care of a baby. But that wasn't the case at all as Dadan is a pretty good caretaker. 

Just like right now, she is feeding me by cooing me. "Open wide Ace, or Magra right there steal eat your food."

She says that while pointing at one of the mountain bandits whose head looks like that of a chicken. The man looks at Dadan confused as she says that. "Even I am not that much of a scumbag to take food from a baby."

Dadan looks at him annoyed. "I am lying to the kid to make him eat you dumbass. Don't take it as the truth, it's used to trick a baby not some old man like you."

Then when she looks back at me her face morphs back into a smile gain. "Here you go Ace, you must eat if want to grow into a strong man."

I must say, she definitely has a soft side to her and she is taking care of me pretty good for someone who was just dropped here out of nowhere. Plus she also allows me to crawl around however much I want. I can already crawl, at first, I just thought that Dadan would be surprised at an almost two months year old baby crawling… but no. She was only like; oh hey, he can crawl… and that was it. 

So since then, I decided to crawl around a lot and eat as much as I can… which is not that much as I am still just a baby. Still, I have now learned just how different the human body is in this world. The physical potential is off the roof, I bet that if every person in the world would have the potential to reach crazy levels of strength is they just train hard. 

This is only an assumption of mine. But if even the normal person trains their whole life hard, by the time they are around the age of forty-four they would be able to be around Vice Admiral level in physical strength. But again, this is only a theory, as I know very little about this world's strength, and my knowledge is based on the anime and even the medical knowledge from my first world is only basic. Plus there is bound to be more to it as this world has many wonders and such things.

After eating, I once again do some training by crawling around and moving around my feet and arms until they are tired. This is the best method o train my body in this situation, I must start as early as I can since from what I remember, Ace was strong in the anime… but he wasn't that strong physically. Well by the standard of the average person he was strong, but I am looking at this from the perspective in comparison to Big Mom and such. She was born monstrous and without training a day in her life she was able to easily slap a bear to death at the age of five… but at that age, she could also bring a whole village of Elbaf to ruin and break the swords of giants with her fists. She even defeated some armed giants during her rampage at that time. All of this, and without training a single day in her life. 

 Comparing myself to Big Mom, it makes any progress that I make seem insignificant. But… I am far from dissuaded from this. I too must at least be able to slap a bear to earth by the age I am five, I promise this to myself. I must be able to at least do this if I want to be anything in this world and not waste my chance in this life. Already have been trying to learn Observation Haki, but it seems like I will need to get a little older to learn as no amount of meditating can seem to allow me to sense anything.

-Dadan POV-

I just look at the kid as I clean the mess that the others made during breakfast. I can easily say that Ace is a weird child, he crawls around a lot and has a certain glint in his eyes. Well, he is the son of that man, so expecting the kid to be ordinary was out of the question. But still, kids like this come about every now and then. The old people around town still laugh at how Garp used to beat around animals and ride on them. He even had a tiger friend he used to ride on when he was just four years old. 

Still, he is just a child, and he is nice enough too as he hugs me a lot and doesn't make a fuss like some other babies would do. Though apparently Marga once hurt his finger as Ace grabbed a hold of it while he was sleeping.

One hour later, I just sit around and smile as I see Ace tire op, and instead of crawling at full speed he just rolls around now moving his arms and legs around while making baby noises.

I smile and get close to him, picking him and rocking him a little to make him sleep. 

*knock* *knock* *knock*...

But suddenly someone loudly knocks on the door, startling little Ace a little. I smile at that as he looks at me. "Ace, let me show you how to be cool while dealing with people who bother you."

I get an annoyed look on my face, open the front door, and yell out loudly. "Oy! You wanna di-"

But my words get stuck on my throat as I see Garp's face and he just waves at me. "Yo! Dodan, ho has been ace doing."

"G -Garp… -san." I say to him weakly, damn its Garp. The bastard, can't he stop bothering me. We are just some honest mountain bandits trying to make a living damn it.

-Ace POV-

As I see Garp for the first time in a month, I can't help but be a little intimidated. I don't know how, but I can instinctively feel this strange sense of danger to my spine. I have never felt this before when I met him, it kinda feels like a droplet of warm water running down my spine, the sensation is completely foreign and weird. How can this be? Is my Observation Haki training finally paying off? Nah, probably not, it's just my instincts may be getting sharper or something like that. I must train my Observation Haki more and maybe try to get at least some basic sensing abilities. 

"Ace has been doing well and he can even crawl now." Says Dadan with a polite tone like an office work employee talking to his manager. Acting all calm and sh*t but on the inside is a mess or nervousness and uncomfortable as hell.
