5 Chapter 5

After dinner, he returned to his room and was thinking about the thing Stussy said to him. If she really was an information broker, she was someone he would definitely need right now, even though it is dangerous and straight up foolish.

He could look for other information brokers but right now, he didn't have much cash and he definitely couldn't go around looking for an information broker in his weak state. He needed to establish a good relationship with this lady, so that he can get information for free.

Alex knew that since he was going to survive in this world, he needed to grow stronger and right now, he needed someone strong enough to both protect him and train him.

It obviously isn't Stussy. He wouldn't go straight to an enemy and ask her to train him to become a threat to the world government.

'One week. That's all the time I have to get information from her and get close to her, while maintaining my image as an immature kid in his 13.' Alex thought and went to bed.

The next day, he started talking to her more, with various reasons like, questions related to the books he was reading, eating meals together and talking about various things happening in the world.

Alex made sure not to disclose any sensitive information he knew from the show. He went on with this for four days and during the dinner of the fourth day. Stussy asked "Alex, you are someone who is smart and I am sure you know that I am not someone you can fool easily.

So, why are you trying to get close to me that desparately? Don't try and deny it."

"Well, I think it is better to go with the truth. I am Alex Mondict, a noble from the Frauce Kingdom and the king of Kling kingdom.

I had to leave my kingdom due to the attack of the revolutionary army, who wanted to kill me. You don't have to worry though, they have bigger problems to deal with, so they won't follow me or cause any trouble for you.

Currently, my biggest enemy is the navy. I am sure I am already wanted by the navy and I am not safe in the outside world." Alex explained.

"It was the revolutionary army that attacked your kingdom. I don't think you have done something wrong. Why would the navy hunt you?" Stussy asked.

"The nobles of the Frauce Kingdom are the ones who trained me in mind games. They would have already made up some incident like 'I took all the money from their treasury and ran away' or they will find someone important and say 'I killed an important person and ran away'." Alex said.

"What do you want from me then? I don't think I can provide you any protection." Stussy asked and Alex replied "I want you to get me info on mercenaries or any person who can protect me from Marines till they forget about me. I also want you to lend me 30,000,000 beri. I will pay you back in 10 years with interest."

"This wasn't something I expected." she muttered and thought for a while. Meanwhile, Alex was thinking 'It doesn't matter whether she accepts or not. If she does, it would be great. If she doesn't accept, it means that she either doesn't have enough influence to take out 30 million, or she doesn't feel like I am someone who is worth 30 million. It would mean that I am not in that much danger.'

"Ok, I will agree to your request and I will get you the 30 million without any interest. You owe me a favor now, which I am sure will be useful in the future." Stussy said and Alex was happy.

It wasn't just because he got money and the info he wanted, he also got closer to a Cipher Pol agent. He knew that it was nothing but dangerous, he still did it as he needed one person to report his actions to the world government, for his future plans.

"I will inform my men to get all these arranged. You will get them when we arrive at our destination." she said. They then continued with their meal and went to bed.

Alex didn't do much the next two days and they arrived at a small island, which had a single village. It wasn't a special place and was quite average.

Stussy handed him a bunch of papers and two suitcases full of cash. Stussy said "This is a small village and it will take another two weeks or so until a ship arrives here. Do you want me to leave you at Gecko islands? They have a lot of merchants visiting them."

"No, I am good. There are some things I need to do and people I need to contact. Thanks for everything." Alex said and they both parted ways.

'I first need to do something about this huge sum of money. I can't go around carrying this much amount.' Alex thought as he walked through the village.

He didn't stay in the village long. He brought a mattress, a blanket, food for a week and clothes to wear.

He decided to stay in the woods for four months. The reason to this was simple, to go off grid. Except the Cipher Pol, no one should know about his werabouts. He knew that slowly, they will forget about him. He could also use this time to train.

Alex knew exactly how to train a body to get to the desired strength in the least amount of time. Alex headed into the woods and found a decent cave to live in. Before settling in the cave, he made sure it didn't have an owner.

He scouted the place and found a river, which was around 2km away from his cave. He got water from the river and returned back. He was careful enough not to alert any animal.

He returned back by lunch time and started preparing his lunch. As he was eating his vegetable stew, he browsed through the papers Stussy had given him.

He went through many profiles, which were of low ranked Marines. Amongst all the retired Marines from the list, one person caught his eye.

She had a weird hairstyle and was currently living in a village after resigning. Alex recognised the name of this person and smiled.
