46 Chapter 43: Weisz X Devil Fruit

Rean now officially a part of our crew I turned my attention to Yun Ka-Fai.

"Don't worry about your apprentice old man we'll take good care of him." I said.

"Oh I know you will. In fact you've already started.' Yun Ka-Fai spoke. Putting a sly grin on his face as he did so.

Seeing this and hearing the old man's words I pulled him over to the side so we could have a more private conversation.

"Ok old man, what's your game?" I asked him seriously.

"I'm sure you noticed it when you fought against Rean yesterday. The boy is skilled but he was also slightly arrogant." Yun Ka-Fai said.

"Yeah, I did notice that. And what you mean he was slightly arrogant?" I asked.

"Oh, after your match yesterday his arrogance vanished. Seems losing to you gave him a new perspective on judging people the same way others do." Yun Ka-Fai spoke.

"What a shrewd old man you are." I said.

This guy used me to teach his student a lesson. I should be angry, but instead I can't help but feel impressed.

Yun Ka-Fai is my type of old man.

"Why thank you." Yun Ka-Fai replied. "On another note, here." He said.

Yun Ka-Fai then handed me the bag he was carrying yesterday. Opening it up I saw the same devil fruit inside.

"You are seriously giving this to me?" I questioned. "I assume you know how valuable this thing is?"

"Oh I do. But I have no use for it." Yun Ka-Fai replied. "Besides, think of it as a going away gift for Rean. By your crew having it I'm sure you'll put it to better use than I ever can which will in turn keep Rean even safer as he journeys with you all."

"You're putting a lot of faith in people you hardly know anything about." I said.

"Oh, I think I know enough." Yun Ka-Fai replied.

"Alright." I said. Accepting the devil fruit. Since I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. "Thank you. Oh by the way do you know which devil fruit this one is?"

Reaching into his pocket Yun Ka-Fai handed me a slip of paper which I accepted. "The name of the devil fruit is on it."

"Thanks." I replied.

Our business concluded we returned to the others, where Rean and even Anelace was getting to know the crew.

After a few more minutes passed the trio left, Rean only going with them to gather his belongings.

He then returned 20 minutes later, his eyes puffy and red.

Making it clear to us he had a tearful farewell with his teacher and fellow apprentice.

None of us said anything about it.

Instead Weisz just showed Rean to the male quarters aboard the Black Pearl. As he did so we set sail from the island.

A new crewmate aboard as we did so.

Standing on deck with my entire crew I held the devil fruit Yun Ka-Fai gave to me in my left hand, and the devil fruit encyclopedia in my right. Having the book opened to the page featuring the details and description about the devil fruit I held in my other hand.

All thanks to the note Yun Ka-Fai slipped me before we left the island a few hours ago.

Eyeing the description I whistled, since it seems Yun Ka-Fai gifted us a pretty amazing devil fruit in my opinion.

"Looks like this fruit is known as the Kikai Kikai No Mi (Machine Machine Fruit." I spoke.

A paramecia-type devil fruit which allows its consumer to control, remake, or remodel any type of machinery or technology.

Just from reading the general description about this fruit in the encyclopedia I can already imagine tons of uses for it. A person who eats this fruit can potentially hack into the communications network of the Marines and World Government without being detected. They can also build a device that can broadcast untraceable signals. Hell, the person who eats this fruit can literally build their own robot army, or even gain control of the Pacifista the Marines and World Government will develop and deploy in the next decade. That's not even counting all the great innovations someone with a good enough imagination and technical knowledge could create with the powers of this fruit.

I wonder, will a person who gains the powers of this fruit even be able to manipulate the Seraphim?

Though considering they have Lunarian DNA and are part biological I am not sure.

Still, the Kikai Kikai No Mi is nothing to sneeze at. I also can't imagine what would happen if a person is able to awaken this fruit. They could potentially gain the ability to turn themselves into a cyborg at will.

Now that would be cool.

As I finished reading the general description of the Kikai Kikai No Mi from the devil fruit encyclopedia I saw Weisz eyeing it like a thirsty thot eyes a handsome man.

But given that is fruit perfectly fits Weisz I can see why he is doing so.

"So, obviously other than Weisz anyone else want speak up for a chance to eat this fruit?" I asked.

Rean shook his head no, while Bepo and Reiju stayed silent.

Seeing this and taking the other two's silence as approval I held out the fruit in the direction of Weisz. "Have at it my friend." I said.

Nodding Weisz came over to me and grabbed the Kikai Kikai No Mi out of my hands.

He then started rubbing it and treating the fruit like the nasty little gremlin treats the One Ring in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

"Hey Weisz, do you want us to give you and the fruit some privacy?" I asked him.

"Yeah. We do not want to interrupt your intimate time. Since you don't get much of it anyway." Alfia spoke. A smirk on her face as she did so.

Weisz sent a glare at her afterwards. "Haha. Very funny." He deadpanned. "Keep laughing now, but eventually you'll see the error of your ways. For I have already sworn to become a great ladies man of the seas. I'll sample beauties from all over the world!"

As Weisz proudly and with shame declared his intentions Alfia started looking at him like he was trash.

Yet he didn't falter under her gaze.

Instead he moved to the fruit in his grasp.

Bringing it up to his mouth he took a bite out of it.

The second after Weisz did this his lips then puckered like he was eating a lemon and his face started turning every color of the rainbow one after another.

Placing a hand over his mouth he fell to his knees, doing his best not to vomit rainbows.

Seeing this us devil fruit users on the crew all shot him a look of sympathy. Since we know the pain he is in.

But if he wants the power he needs to go through the trial of disgust. It's a right of passage for all devil fruit users after all.

Dropping the fruit from his grasp Weisz placed both hands atop his mouth. I then saw his jaw moving as he slowly chewed the pieces of fruit already within his mouth.

After a few seconds passed everyone heard him audibly swallow.

Weisz gained a triumphant look on his face after he did this.

He then started vomiting rainbows a second later.

But since he already ate the fruit he's gained its powers so he won't ever to go through that again.

Congratulations Weisz.

Once he stopped vomiting I moved to grab him and slung one of his arms over my shoulder.

"I'm taking Weisz to get some rest, please clean up the mess." I asked the others.

Nodding they went to work.

While I went to put our shipwright down for a nap.

He just earned it after all.
