Chapter 1

Well, I decided to rewrite my fic for a number of reasons that I wont get into here.

--

It was the era of the pirates.

The pirate king, Gold.D Roger had just died while announcing his treasure, the One piece.

The entire world was lit ablaze by this announcement and this led to millions of younglings wanting to become the next pirate king and get the late Roger's treasure.

The treasure is rumoured to have it all. Fame, Power, Status and money.

His death greatly affected the power of the world. The marines had gotten rid of their biggest thorn, but they still had a lot of work to do as the other yonkos ruled the world.

With Roger's death, Whitebeard was now known as the strongest person alive.

--

Deep Inside a forest stood two people, one kid, the other an elderly man.

The kid was about the age of 14. He had long, silky black hair that was swept back into a man bun and he wore crude, baggy overalls to shield himself from the cold weather.

Pwooo...

The arrow went flying and hit its mark.

"AH! Got one!"

The boy yelled out with a wide grin on his face as a dead deer lay a few meters in front of him. He held a wooden bow on his right hand that he used to shoot down the deer.

"Good job, William. You're learning quite rapidly," A man spoke from behind the boy named William. He was of 32 years of age and was also the boy's father. "At your age, I was still a snotty brat. It's good to see my son turned out different."

The man was teaching William how to hunt, and despite being his first time holding a bow in his hands, the boy handled the tool with master-like precision.

William smiled lightly at his dad, "C'mon dad, don't ruin the celebration. I successfully completed my first ever hunt, don't ruin the moment with your whining.

"Okay, I won't. I was just joking around. But on a more serious note, it's truly amazing you can fire a bow with that precision, with this being your first-time handling one."

Frank, William's father asked with a curious look on his face.

William had a hidden secret that he kept to himself. He was a traverser from a different world called Earth.

In that world, William was a grandmaster-level bowman. Fortunately, his skill of the bow, traversed with him.

One day, he suddenly found himself in William's body. It was a shock at first, but after a few months he came to accept it.

The world William reincarnated in was an entertainment piece of media that he read in past world. It was called One piece.

The world of One piece was a daunting one, containing bloodthirsty pirates and marines. Nonetheless, William was looking forward to the future with anticipation, disregarding the countless forms of threats. William had made it his goal, to be the strongest creature in this world.

After all, such an opportunity would not come twice. Make the most of it while you can.

"Let's go back to the village. You should be able to sell the corpse and the meat for a few thousand beli," Frank said with a smile.

William smiled back and followed his dad back into the village whilst carrying the corpse of the deer on his back.

The village was located in East Blue, the weakest sea in One piece. It was a rather small village, housing 300 families.

After selling the corpse, William profited a few thousand beli that he stored alongside his other savings. He eventually planned to buy a boat and flee from the village, in seek of adventure and power. He would have already done it by now if not for the ridiculous boat prices.

A miniature boat of the worst quality was priced at a million beli.

Luckily for William, when he traversed, he received the former's memories which made it easier for him to communicate and understand the currency rates.

Unlike other transmigrators, William didn't receive a golden finger or a personal system. He was bummed at that. After all, it would allow him an unfair advantage against everyone else in this world.

After selling the deer, William went home where he found his lovely parents.

Though he had been living with them for over a month, William had established no real familial connection with his 'parents'. He was still however, nice to them to not rouse any suspicion. He knew eventually he would leave them and venture out in the world. Hence, he'd been learning survival skills from his dad for that fateful day.

"Oh, how big has our little William grown. Being able to catch a deer all by himself."

William's mom, Mary said as he entered their home.

"It was no big deal. Just a simple catch."

William said nonchalantly as he took a seat on the coach and pondered.

'My growth in the last month has been slow. I've only been able learn a few survival skills. Learning combat skills should be far more crucial.'

William sighed in defeat. Despite his intentions, William could not learn combat skills of any form. He could not teach himself how to wield a sword automatically, he had traversed from a different world, but he was no genius. To add to his disappointment, this town had no fighters or a marine base of any kind. If he could, he would have joined the marines as he would at least get an instructor.

William face contorted even further as he got annoyed.

'Tch! Dammit!'

"Well, William. Guess what, to celebrate your very first hunt, we're cutting a cake for you."

Mary said politely, as she promptly came over to William and placed a decorative cake in front of him, and sat beside him. Unfortunately, Frank had a meeting to attend with the mayor and couldn't make it, so it was only the two of them.

"Well, what are you waiting for, cut it," Mary prompted William.

Begrudgingly, William cut the cake in several pieces and fed it to his mother first, then ate a piece himself.

William literally swallowed his disappointment alongside the cake.

As he was about to take another bite, his head suddenly felt light as he dropped the piece of cake back into the tray.

He grabbed his head with his hands rested back into the couch.

"Will, dear, are you feeling okay?"

Mary asked William with a concerned look on her face.

"Yes, I'm perfectly fine. It's just a mild headache, nothing major,"

William replied back as the headache soon subsided and let go his hands from his head.

"If you say so,"

Mary said as she continued to eat the cake.

However, the reason for William's agape mouth was the translucent blue screen that suddenly appeared in his peripheral.
