4 Ch 4 : Honedge!

When the figure appeared, Nate quickly recognized the name of the Pokemon.

He's so familiar with the Pokemon in front of him. One of the Pokemon from gen VI and with a very iconic shape.

'Is it because I am learning swordsmanship?' That thought crossed Nate's mind.

However, Nate quickly brushed it off. He was very curious about how to use this card, so he tried to check it out.

[Honedge]

Rarity: SR

Type: Steel, Ghost

Level: 1

Strength: 20

Speed: 8

Vitality: 12

Skills: Aerial ace: Aerial Ace inflicts damage and bypasses accuracy checks to always hit

Evolution: ?????

An SR rarity Pokemon card, even though the current stats of Honedge might look a bit weak, but it was enough for Nate.

Nate knew that Honedge could grow stronger by battle, and all he needed to do was to level up the Honedge.

[The Pokemon card has been placed in inventory, do you want to equip it in the card slot or summon it?]

As soon as the system prompts, A new screen panel appears before Nate.

The panels were separated into three parts.

1. Nate's current status.

2. Summoned Pokemon.

3. Equipped Pokemon.

Under the system's guidance, Nate quickly understood how the panel in front of him worked.

The current status was just current status. It displayed Nate's strength value, Doriki, Etc.

The summoned Pokemon had two slots, one of them was blurred, and one of them was empty. In this slot, Nate could place his Pokemon to summon.

And the last one, the Equipped Pokemon function, was for Nate to equip the Pokemon card and let him gain the power of the specific Pokemon. The equipped Pokemon had three slots, and among them, two were currently blurred, and one was empty.

According to Nate's estimation, these blurred card slots were like locked slots and would be unlocked later after Nate gained some progress in his strength and journey.

Nate spent some time thinking about what to do with that Honedge, but in the end, Nate decided to put the Honedge on the summoned Pokemon list.

He was a swordsman, and what he was currently lacking was a sword.

Equipping Honedge wouldn't give him a major boost of power, and rather than that, Nate would like to use the Honedge as his primary weapon.

Nate placed his hand on the empty Summoned Pokemon slot, and a new prompt appeared.

[ DING!!! Place Honedge on the empty summoned Pokemon Slot? Please be reminded that another change could only be made after 24 hours.]

Nate pressed yes, and immediately Honedge appeared in front of him.

Just like in the pokemon anime, the figure of Honedge was a sword, and Nate unconsciously put his hand on Honedge's grip.

" Kyuu..."

The Honedge seemed a bit startled, but when he saw that it was none other than Nate, the Honedge quickly calmed down, and he just let Nate play with the sword.

Nate unsheathed the sword from the sheath, and the real figure of Honedge was revealed.

It was a kind of western sword, and somehow, Nate felt like the Honedge fit perfectly into his hand.

It was just a premonition, but Nate somehow knew that soon the combo of this Honedge and himself would shock the pirate world.

He returned the Honedge back to its sheath, and a warm smile appeared on Nate's face.

" Nice to meet you, partner. "

" Kyuuu....."

After a brief introduction with the Honedge, Nate was preparing to sail off.

He thought that the reward was already very plenty, but it seemed the system still had something hidden in the bags for him.

[ DING!!! Unlock the recharge system.]

[ Other than increasing the level, Pokemon cards can also be awakened or even evolved, and it will also increase the strength of the Pokemon card. If the host were to recharge diamonds, you could unlock more Pokemon Gacha draw!]

"Recharge diamond... So it is a P2W system, huh ?"

Nate then asked silently: " What is the requirement to awaken a pokemon card?"

[ Get the same Pokemon card, and the status of the Pokemon card could be awakened to +1, or using the fragment gathered from the gacha. An SR rarity card would need 100 fragments to get to +1]

Nate looked at his Honedge status, and indeed, there was an 0/100 number on it to be advanced to +1.

Nate could only sigh helplessly. It seemed that this would be a long process…

After all that info from the system, Nate decided to stop for a while.

Instead of rushing into the sea, Nate sat quietly on the beach where he had been training for years.

Even though Nate always wanted to leave this place, now that he was about to leave, Nate somehow felt this place a bit nostalgic.

Waiting for the next day, Nate eventually sets sail, and thus signify the beginning of his journey in One Piece world.
