Ch 16 : In the boat with Nami

For the next few days, Nami fully integrated into Nate's crew and became his navigator.

The journey in the sea was pretty boring, but with two beautiful girls alongside him, it was a lot better, Nate thought.

At first, Nami seemed to be a bit wary against Nate, but after a night where Nate didn't do anything to her, she slowly loosened her guard.

Now the trio could talk happily, and they even began to talk about some personal life things.

Things like hobbies, travel experiences, and favorite food had become a common topic in their chat as Nami slowly took her place in her group.

After such a long time, it was the first time Nami felt so refreshed. But just like how happiness came so suddenly, sadness also came like a storm.

Even though Nami felt happy here, she couldn't let go of her hometown, and the thought of stealing things from Nate and Kaya somehow saddened her.

" Nate, why are you going to the sea?"

From behind, Nami came to sit next to Nate, who was admiring the sea.

" Hmm... what is it, Nami? You are not planning anything bad, right?"

Nate responded teasingly to Nami.

Ever since that day, the two had made up with each other, and their relationship had gotten a lot better.

Now they could tease each other about the event that day comfortably without worrying about offending the other party.

" Bah, can you be a bit serious now? I'm asking you seriously? You know?"

Nami pouted, which only made Nate want to tease her even further.

Still, Nate quickly recovered his composure as his eyes now had an inexplicable gaze that he used to look at Nami.

" Nami, don't you think this world is full of miracles? Sea, pirates, kingdoms, marines, and all the miracles in this world. I want to live a life that I would not regret later, and for that, I want to explore every nook and corner of this world!"

When Nate said that, Nami could imagine all the adventures they would go through together.

Some of them might be life-threatening, but with smiles and companionship, they were always able to strive and survive every predicament.

Nami's heart pained a bit when she imagined this.

Why...

Why was the god so unfair to her? What did she do wrong for God to take everything from her?

All her life, everything she cherished was always taken away from her.

Nate saw Nami's expression become a bit wrong and he stopped saying anything. He just went closer to Nami and pulled her into his embrace.

Nami was a bit startled, but she didn't resist. She knew that Nate had no bad intention and only hugged her to calm her down.

The two stayed in that position for a while, only to be separated from each other When Kaya called them to have dinner.

Later that day, the ship met some marines ship along the way. But because Nate's current ship did not have any pirate sign on it and was just a normal sailing boat, the marine ship didn't have any reason to shoot him down, and they could continue their journey without any trouble.

Everything was going well for them. But something happened when they were just one island away from Cocoyasi village.

Nami, the navigator, said that she needed to take a break first and ask the group to stay on another island just for one day before they would continue their journey tomorrow.

Nate was a transmigrator, and he definitely noticed something was wrong with this request. However, he pretended that he didn't have any problem with Nami's request and decided to accept Nami's proposal.

His goal was to get Nami on the board fully, and for that, he definitely would put all his effort into it, even if that meant that he must be betrayed by Nami first.

And Nate.s feeling was right.

When Kaya and Nate woke up the next morning, they found that Nami had been missing away with their small sailing boat.

Next to Nate's bedroom was a small note from Nami where she apologized for all the misdeed she had done to them, and ask them to not look for her anymore.

" Nate, what should we do?"

Kaya looked at Nate with a frustrated expression. They had just begun their journey, so why would they face such a setback in just a few days of sailing the sea?

However, contrary to Kaya's expectations, Nate was very calm at this time.

" Don't worry, Kaya. Everything is under my plan, and now, we will go and fetch our navigator back!"

The previous day, Nate had booked a ticket to Cocoyasi island.

He knew that things would become like this, so he obviously had prepared some countermeasure.

Everything was just as he planned, and now all that was left was to defeat Arlong.
