14 Ch14 Willow Island

As I'm sailing to Willow Island I find a small chest onboard with 30000 berries, also some of the Moon Severing dojo scrolls. I read them and they're full of flowery words that don't actually mean anything.

At least I have something to wipe my ass with, not really though in this game you never need to go to the bathroom.

Willow Island has lots of herbalists and powerful herbs. Also, I want to find the poneglyph I've heard of.

I have a problem I didn't think of, I still need 3 days to get there. I'm the only person on board and I need to log off at least once while getting there.

I decide to steer the ship in the right direction and just log off and pray. Another reason I need a crew is so we can always have someone to watch the ship.

It's now the next day when I log back in and I'm on my ship and not too much off course, luckily it wasn't so bad if this was the grand line anything could have happened.

After a couple of hours, I see what I think is Willow Island ahead of me. I don't see a dock so I sail up the coast until I find it.

The dock is not that big but also quite empty so it's easy to find somewhere to dock, I tie up my ropes to the bollard and hop off.

I head into the village, the buildings seem to be made of mud with wood roofs, though while made of mud they are large and look sturdy. The streets are dirt roads but large roots are emerging from parts of the road.

Some of the people around are wearing green or brown cloaks over their regular clothes.

The village seems to be built on raised ground as all the surrounding lands outside are swamps partially underwater and also full of large twisting roots.

In the distance far outside the village further inland is a giant willow tree.

I'm addicted to absorbing knowledge for later now, I'm always on the lookout for books.

I decide to look for a library to see if I can pick up some knowledge here, but I can't see one anywhere so I stop to ask a female NPC.

"Excuse me sir where can I find the library or book shop?"

"We don't have a library or many books, only elders have books" The NPC said.

"Where can I go to learn about the island's herbs?" I ask.

"That would be the green elders, I'd recommend elder Rosetta she saved my daughter last winter. Head to the herbalist's workshop it's down that street" She told me then headed off.

I go down the aforementioned street and see a half-buried twisting building constructed of mud, some plants are growing out the top giving the building some color.

I head inside and witness dozens of green-robed people carrying baskets of herbs to and fro.

In the center is a reception desk with a fat guy reading a book, I head up to him and ask.

"Where do I go to learn about herbs and such?"

"To learn anything here you must convince an elder to help you" the man explains.

"Who's the best elder here?" I ask feeling overwhelmed with choice.

"Rosetta is the best in the village but she gives tough requests, if you want to find her go to the door with the rose on it" he said.

I look around for a bit and find the door with a rose on it and go through, it leads to a spiral staircase leading down. As I approach I hear.

"Elder Rosetta I wish to receive your tutelage"

"Me too, I also want to learn to make cool potions"

I reach the bottom of the staircase and enter a large room with desks covered with completed alchemy devices and scattered books. Across the walls are bookshelves full of books.

In the center of the room an NPC, she's old with gray hair tied in a bun cloaked in the herbalist green robe.

Next to her are 2 players, one of them is a guy that has short blond hair with pink eyes and a black face mask on as well as a white lab coat. His name is Drago420.

The other player is an old man with gray hair and eyes, he's dressed in a white shirt and brown coat. Nothing particularly stands out about the man other than he seems very happy. His name is Carrotasaurous.

"I also wish to learn from you" I say announcing my presence.

"Well since I have 3 of you here I'll give you the same mission as all the rest, search the island for the Panaseng plant" Rosetta says addressing us.

"It is a rare herb that grows on the Island and can be used to strengthen any medicine and speed up healing a lot. Unfortunately is scarce, very rare, and impossible to cultivate" Rosetta said as she handed us an intricate drawing of it.

The plant looks like a mini willow bonsai tree with blue leaves.

"Anyone that gets me at least ten leaves can have access to my teachings and my library" Rosetta finished.

It's a pretty good deal for me as I plan to search the island anyway for the poneglyph it's always good to stack up on quests in the same area.

I leave the building to go on my search when I hear.

"Yo big guy, carrot guy wait up" It was Drago420 calling out.

"We have the same goal and if we find the plant we can share, so why not work together" he continued.

"I have heard that the beasts in the swamps here are deadly, working together might not be a bad idea kid" Said the elderly man,

I have been playing this game for a couple of weeks but other than meeting up with Charlie and Bart I've been a bit of a loner. Plus I'm interested in seeing what other players are capable of.

"Sure I'm in, let's find that plant, im Eiichiro Oda" I say putting out my hand. The old guy grabs it and gives me a firm handshake.

"I'm Tony, let's find some truly delicious herbs and spices" Carrotasarous says.

"What about your username?" I ask curiously.

"My granddaughter chose it for me and my daughter recommended it to me it's truly wondrous" Tony said Drago420 runs up and also grabs my hand shaking it vigorously.

"Don't leave me out guys, I'm Drago420 you can call me Drago, I'm going to be the best doctor in the game" Drago declares loudly.

"Quite a trio, so where do we start?" I ask.
