Chapter 2

His grandfather came and took him to Dadan's house where he met Ace. After his grandfather went away he sneakily followed ace while doing his hunting.

One day Ace was attacked by the king of the forest and came very close to dying but Luffy rescued him.

"Shishishishi, Looks like you had bad luck fighting the king of the forest," said Luffy as he stretched his arm back and then gave a gomu gomu no pistol attack to the king pushing the beast far away after which he grabbed ace and ran away.

Ace thanked him for saving him and introduced him to Sabo who was also thankful to him saving Ace. After that, they had daily training and hunting together. He generally practised his devil fruit in battles with Ace and Sabo. He didn't fight them using Rokushiki, Devil fruit powers or his slowly developing haki which was due to him hunting in the forest blindfolded when not with his brothers.

He had found out after eating the gomu gomu no mi his metabolism increased drastically and his nutritional intake had also needed to be increased drastically. Thus even after eating with everyone he still had to eat more. It got so bad that he had to eat 8 times a day. He was eating an equivalent of 10 people's meals daily. But this also showed the effect as his muscles influenced by the gomu gomu no mi had greater power and his body was much more toned. He also had been drinking milk daily which he stole from buffalo's in the forest so that he could grow taller because he wanted to be at least six, because of being 5'8 in his previous life it was one of his sore-spots.

All this caused his growth to skyrocket and he was already as tall as Ace and Sabo. Due to his fighting instinct and high intellect he was constantly using combat knowledge from his previous life and was creating his gomu fighting style. He still took some ideas from canon for his simpler attacks and started integrating them into the fighting style.

The new fighting style caused him to be at an equal fighting level with Ace and Sabo with total numbers of fights split equally between them. After some days Sabo moved in to live with Ace and Luffy.

After some days living with Dadan, they built themselves a treehouse. It certainly helped to more durable with the help of Luffy who had experience in woodworking as he had the hobby of working in wood shipbuilding projects as a hobby in his previous life.

One day in the lighthouse,

"Hey Sabo, Luffy did you know that if we exchanged this cup's of sake?" said Ace

"We might not be on the same ship when we become pirates but we definitely but our brotherhood will always be with us, wherever you are, whatever you do, we'll be bonded together"

"So from now on will be brothers" Continued Ace and they drank the sake.

When Sabo was caught and taken back to the nobles house. Luffy kept Ace from going into the grey terminal and also informed Ace and Dadan that the grey terminal would be set on fire and lied that he heard from noble's when they were in town.

When Sabo's ship was shot down the next day Ace saw all of it, he despaired and lost consciousness immediately. After he woke up he started crying and then Luffy gave him a reason to have hope that Sabo's body was not found in the wreckage and the possibility that he was probably rescued

For the next few weeks, Ace tried to find clues for Sabo but Luffy knew that his father and the revolutionaries had already left. Ace came back dejected that he couldn't find any evidence except Sabo's flag.

"Maybe someone rescued him from the wreckage" Luffy suggested. Ace's eyes went bright but then immediately went dim.

"I already searched all the houses in the kingdom and Fusha village. I didn't find anything" says Ace.

"I didn't mean he was rescued by someone here, I mean in the sea from the wreckage." Says Luffy.

"Then why didn't he come back it is already 3 weeks since then," said Ace

"Maybe he is in a coma or lost his memory or something," said Luffy

He looked like he had found hope. "If he lost his memory I will beat him up till he remembers us," says Ace with some Hope.

"Then if we want to search for him we have to get stronger together. Bring his flag back it has our three names we should hang it from our treehouse."

Just like in the canon they continued training for 4 more years until Ace was 17 and left. During this time Luffy drilled the Rokushiki techniques and knowledge required for a pirate captain into Ace. He also told Ace a lot of the things he knew about the devil fruits and techniques like haki to not get blindsided by powers in the Grand Line but he didn't teach him haki because Luffy knew he would be questioned by Garp if he ever was found out.

He also told him a white lie that Teach's life ambition was to get the Yami Yami no mi and that he wouldn't hesitate to kill comrades from friends for the fruit and that he heard it from Shanks while also showing what the fruit looks like.

After Ace left Luffy continued his training now without any hindrances like hiding from Ace and training his weakness to the sea by constant swimming in a shallow pond. Even though he could probably never normally swim due to his sinking and the rapid speed at which he lost his strength in water. He was able through sheer will power train himself to be able to swim for 3 mins without sinking and losing strength which was pretty good in his opinion as it was enough to reach ashore if he was nearby an Island.

He noticed that the swimming training also helped in honing his willpower which he could use in haki but he had to constantly make sure that he was not using haki in the swimming training to not let the advantages of the training be lost.

But his Haki training was also going very well, he was proficient enough in it as much as a new world common pirate captain but he decided that he would not use it unless he was sure it would be revealed because he didn't want admirals on his ass before he left paradise. Even though he was confident in taking down new vice admirals other than the people from rogers age, he still didn't want to try his luck against admirals. Even though he was confident in his ability to survive a fight he didn't want to overestimate himself and underestimate the admirals.

He also wrote down all the knowledge he knew about the different professions of his crewmates from his old world and what else which could help them go further in their professions during the time he was not training and resting his body into multiple books which he would give them on the time of their joining into the crew.

Finally, it was the day he turned 17 he left from Fusha village. Now Luffy was not like his canon counterpart. He had a much more toned body and didn't look like a stick due to having a little more muscle mass. He also was very tall like 6'2'' due to all the milk. The constantly eating and absorption of the food allowed him to learn Life return so that he could quickly absorb all the energy and it also helped him on his rate of recovery. On the way out just like in canon, the lord of coastal waters came and attacked him. But unlike canon, Luffy didn't attack it with a gomu gomu no pistol but used Haoshoku on the beast after it started to sweat bullets and beg for mercy he nodded and took a rope and tied it to its neck.

"Go straight until I tell you to change directions, "said Luffy.

After some time the beast got tired and was begging to be released. Luffy took pity on it and released it.

Just like in the canon he eventually got near a whirlpool and he hid and all his articles in the barrel like the books, money etc. He briefly considered Geppouing to the cruise but discarded when he remembered that he didn't know which way was the ship.

Luffy's barrel was picked up by the sailors and he woke up when the barrel started to roll and the barrel was sent into the kitchens. He used observation Haki to see the people on the ship he immediately spotted Nami. He expanded his range and soon he was watching under the ship he was able to see the fishes. He further expanded his range to the maximum range. It was very large now he could tell Alvida pirates coming. He waited for the attack. Just like canon Coby came and took Luffy's barrel and started rolling him down when three low-level thugs came and took the barrel from Coby.

"Oi Coby, what do you have there?"

"Hey, its biggest of all the barrels maybe we can take a swig from it"

"Ehhhhh, Alvida-Sama will beat you if you drink it, "said Coby.

"Hahaha what we won't tell Alvida-Sama won't know na Coby"

As comes and tries to open the barrel Luffy knew it was the time to come out

"That was a great nap" and punched the guy and knocked him.

"Eh, what is he doing Sleeping on the floor he's going to catch a cold," asks Luffy

"it is because knocked him, "said the two thugs

"Ah, I am hungry, where is the meat," asks Luffy to Coby

"oi don't ignore us" and they attack and he kicks them and knock them out cold

Somehow, Luffy is still hungry so Luffy goes into the pantry and start's eating

"So, is this ship a pirate ship?" Luffy asks Coby already knowing the answer.

"No, this is a cruise ship being raided by Alvida-Sama"

"Then are there any rowboats here"

"I think there are "he answers uncertainly

"So, are you one of those pirates?"

Then he goes onto his backstory which has Luffy laughing like hell even though Luffy already knew it

"So why didn't you escape"

and he goes into a panic attack just by imagining an escape.

"So, you are coward huh, I don't like you, "Luffy says as funnily as possible while still laughing. Even though the majority of his personality was from before reincarnation he still had lots of Luffy's characteristics in him.

"So how did you get into the barrel Luffy san"

then Luffy went on to explain that he got sucked into the whirlpool.

"you are right if only I had enough courage to escape I would be fighting for my dream"

"Luffy san why are you going to the seas?"

"I am going to become the pirate king"

Coby goes onto a panic attack saying it is impossible Luffy hits him on the head so that he stops

"Even if I die, I will still die pursuing my dreams," said Luffy

somehow, Coby got a conviction to pursue his dreams from those words. Luffy gets all his articles from the barrel and puts them in the fruit box he just ate from.

Suddenly Alvida comes breaking in.

"Oh, he isn't Roronoa," says Alvida almost sounding disappointed

"Oi Coby, who is the most beautiful woman in the sea?"

"Who is the hag?" Luffy asks Coby and she loses her mind.

"Luffy san lets run she is the most power-" says Coby and then he sees there is no fear in Luffy eyes.

"Most what Coby?" asks Alvida

"Most ugly hag in the whole east blue"

and that was it for Luffy he couldn't stop laughing

and she tries to hit Coby and Luffy with her club but Luffy dodges it and punches her through the roof.

"Let's go "Luffy takes Coby and the fruit box with his items jump to the roof and then Luffy continues kicking the pirate's asses distracting them so Nami could take all their loot so after Nami takes all the loot and a boat Luffy finishes the fight by hitting Alvida by a gomu gomu no pistol and sends her flying. After seeing Alvida flying off, Luffy follows in her direction using Geppou to a small island nearby which she would have probably landed on after some time. He uses his observation haki and finds the Sube Sube no mi devil fruit. Seeing that the marines were also coming he took Coby and a trunk from a person in the cruise there he put all his artefacts and the devil fruit and jumped onto Nami's boat.
