13 Blue Tempest General

[You have slain your enemy!]

[You have gained experience!]

[You have cleared Room 49!]

Looking at the system notifications appearing in his vision, Jin Woo exhaled silently before taking out a water bottle from his inventory.

It had been almost a week since he first entered the dungeon, and in that amount of time, he had cleared until 49 stages, which, to Jin Woo who did nothing but clear rooms the whole past week, it was rather lower than his expectations.

But in fact, it was a much faster advancing speed than he acknowledged. Not only the area of the rooms but the number of knights also kept increasing with their increasing strength, and counting the time required for sleeping and resting, clearing 49 stages in a week was an inhuman speed.

In the short week, his level has spiked a lot but-

"I don't feel like I am getting stronger…"

The reason for such a feeling was that the stronger he became, his opponents also became equally stronger, thus making every fight a struggle. It was to the point that he felt that the dungeon was tailor-made specifically for him.

Of course, the stronger the enemies, the greater was experience granted – that was one of the reasons he could level up so fast and Jin Woo wasn't complaining about it, instead, he welcomed the challenge with open arms.

Thinking idly, he put the now empty water bottle back in his inventory. The water bottle was bought from <<Item Shop>>, another feature of the system that was unlocked on reaching level 30.

Item Shop had almost everything available, from daily necessities like food or clothing to weapons like swords or daggers. All of the things were available for purchase by 'gold', an in-system currency that could be obtained by selling the 'drops' by the monsters.

He had finally found the usage for all the useless drops that he kept collecting, and he was delighted upon figuring out that he had not skipped such a simple process on the previous rooms.

There was also one more thing that was dropped by the monsters in the early ten floors.

[Item: Instant teleportation stone

Type: Consumable item

Description: Breaking the teleportation stone will immediately transport you outside of the dungeon. This item cannot be used more than once and cannot be obtained through other means. ]

Initially, Jin Woo had the thought of leaving the dungeon after a while because he had no supplies with him, and fighting while starving was not really recommended. But after unlocking Item Shop, he did not need to worry about such a thing.

"Though I could use a little variation in the menu, there is only bread and jerky…"

Lightly chuckling to himself, Jin Woo finished collecting the drop items and decided to rest for a while before attempting the next room.

After all, after getting used to the knights, he was not really exhausted and could continue after a short rest.

Passing through the stone corridor lined with statues that had become a familiar place for him, Jin Woo arrived at his destination.

The door with a big 50 written on its front was made of iron instead of wood this time.

With his hand on the door and pushing a little, Jin Woo realized it was much heavier than before. If it was the old him prior to entering this dungeon, he suspected that he might not be able to open it.

At the same time, Jin Woo felt an enormous presence behind the door thanks to his sense stat. The pressure was as though a heavy boulder was placed on his shoulders.

Taking a deep breath, Jin Woo steeled his resolve and exerted force in his arms, prying open the door.

There was a spacious circular area expanding around a kilometer in front of him. The walls on all sides stretched high above, forming a dome that covered the whole expanse.

In the middle stood a dark figure easily towering above 10 meters. It was clad in armor from head to toe and held a black hammer covered in blue glowing patterns that were equally enormous in size.

As soon as Jin Woo entered, the huge figure turned its head towards his direction while a series of notifications rang in his ears.

[You have entered Room 50!]

[The Blue Tempest General has set its eyes on you!]

The name "Blue Tempest General" floated on the figure's head, having a dark red color.

'It's a boss-'

Before Jin Woo could complete his sentence, the boss monster disappeared from his sight and appeared right above him in the air. It had moved with incredible speed, completely in contrast with its enormous size, and caught Jin Woo in surprise.

He hurriedly rolled on the ground, barely avoiding the sledgehammer that fell from the sky with the might of a meteor by the skin of his teeth.

*Baam!*

The ground quaked under the giant's strike, causing web-like cracks to appear and spread while Jin Woo's ears were left ringing due to the loud sound.

'Tsk, what a grand opening.'

After getting caught off guard, Jin Woo did not waste any time and was already on the move.

He circled the giant monster, trying to get behind its back but he was one step behind the monster.

Without leaving any opening, the monster dragged the huge hammer in a circular arc, creating an intense grinding sound as the metal surface scraped against the stone floor.

The hammer was closing in at a fast speed and Jin Woo was cornered, with nothing but the wall behind him. But it was not like he was out of solutions.

Lightly bouncing off the edge of the incoming hammer that was akin to a bullet train, Jin Woo propelled himself up in the air.

The force behind the strike was so much that Jin Woo felt his legs go numb for a moment, but the damage he took did not exceed more than 5% of his full HP.

He landed on the wall, quite far from his original position, and used his momentum to stick to it, running a half circle and coming closer to the behemoth like knight.

Exerting strength in his legs, Jin Woo shot like an arrow at the head of the giant knight, leaving visible cracks on the wall behind.

'As long as I can get a clean hit in...'

He believed that as long as he could deal a lethal strike, it'd break the momentum of the knight with tremendous physical strength. After all, all the knights he had faced up to now had the vital flaw of having weak defense.

Even if the one above him was a boss monster, how high could its defense be? Especially since all of its stats seemed to be invested in the strength department; swinging the huge hammer with such fluidity was not something anyone could do.

*Cheeeng!*

Sparks flew around as the dagger made contact with the armor, but Jin Woo's eyes grew wider at the outcome, it was completely out of his expectations.

The dagger had not managed to do more than scratch the surface, let alone pierce through the armor and deal a lethal blow.

"Fu-"

Before he could even curse, The Blue General swung its hammer and slammed the airborne Jin Woo, sending him flying into the wall with heavy force.

"Ack!"

Jin Woo's vision flashed red, a result of losing a large amount of HP at once, and let out a groan.

Before Jin Woo could stabilize himself, the Blue General grunted and rushed towards Jin Woo at full speed.

*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*

Each of its steps reverberated with force as the ground shook slightly under the immense pressure.

Jin Woo was still feeling a little hazy, he tried to get out of its way but was a step too late as it headfirst crashed into him.

'Damn…not good-'

*Boom!*

Jin Woo felt his mind blank out with red covering everything. The wall behind him was covered in web-like cracks, which spread outwards gradually.

Eventually, the wall gave in under the force and came crumbling down, revealing an empty area that went deeper into the ground behind it.

Jin Woo, through his waning consciousness, felt the feeling of free-falling as a few system screens appeared in his vision.

[You have found a hidden area!]

[A Hidden Quest will be generated!]
