Chapter 154: The World In Chaos I

...........

For the first time in ever, Yovan just relaxed and allowed himself to rest, going into hibernation in the Golden Sun.

While Yovan vanished, granting the world a few moments of calm, people from all over the world clearly felt that it isn't the good kind of calm... It was the calm before the storm.

An air of unease and anxiousness enveloped the world, perhaps the start of an age even worse than that of pirates... What Yovan was doing, it no longer had anything to do with pirates, his actions were far grander.

He seemed to be using the age of pirates merely as a chess piece, something few noticed, no doubt.

There is proof. There is a clear sign in the shape of a newspaper for on it was written the, "The location of all the Road Poneglyphs!!!???" Sengoku shouted in shock, adorning a grave expression, looking all bandaged up, and missing two arms.

"I-It's over," The Marines were having a grand meeting, set up the moment Sengoku regained consciousness, so one of the Vice Admirals around couldn't help but murmur in despair.

That's a sentiment shared by many of the Marines as the entire base was enveloped in a sense of fear and despair. How could it not? The Marine Admirals, even the Fleet Admiral returned in failure, left in such a miserable state.

It was inconceivable to all the Marines for in their minds, the Admirals were gods, the guardian of the world that should never fall, yet here they are, returned with defeat... Just what is it that they faced there?

However, no one, no a single soul dared to question them, not as Akainu sat there, not bandaged in the slightest, showing that half of his face was missing.

They could see his right arm dripping with magma. If expressions could kill, then'd be dead thousands of times over... The rabid dog was losing it, barely holding back his limitless fury, and no one was willing to test his patience.

"What... what is he thinking????" Sengoku slumped back on his chair in confusion.

He just gave away the location of the Road Poneglyphs, the coordinates to the One Piece. Could someone be so generous? Not a chance. He obviously has an ulterior motive.

"Why does he want to bring about so much chaos?" Even Aokiji had to wonder. just what's going on in Yovan's mind. He was the least affected by the battle, only suffering a few burn wounds.

That's in stark contrast to Kizaru who was brought here by force, finding moving too troublesome. He honestly just wanted to sleep for a while, and only wake up when all the troublesome things are dealt with.

He could handle the pain of his burn wounds, numerous burn wounds, but he'd rather just sleep and relax. Kizaru just wanted to forget about what he saw, it was making him too anxious and stressed.

"I wanna retire," Sengoku couldn't help but murmur under his breath as he tried to rub his temple only to remember he has no arms, "Kizaru... How did he escape again?"

"There was a door. He went into the door. He was no longer there." Kizaru explained in his own way much to the chagrin of the Admirals.

"There was a door, and you let him GO IN????" It was Akainu's time to question, and his manners weren't pleasant.

"Well, ya, couldn't stop him, you know," Kizaru naturally nodded.

"No, I don't fucking know??????" Akainu's fist gently touched the table, as it was gentle, it didn't break it, it only melted it, forcing some of the Vice Admirals to move away out of caution.

"He opened the door when he was in the thing, so I couldn't stop him," Kizaru frowned, finding it troublesome to explain things but he still did nonetheless, "The door must lead to an alternate dimension or it teleports one away. However, I don't know if he was the one to create it or someone else. Although no one else was within my perception at the time."

"Useless trash!!!" Akainu was about to destroy the entire building in pure uncontrolled anger. Never in the entirety of his life had he suffered such a miserable defeat, not even against the White Beard... It was humiliating.

"Akainu, just stop!" Sengoku shook his head, "I think I know the door he's talking about... We miscalculated... We lost."

No matter how mad Akainu was, he had to slump back in his chair, "What will we do? What can we do??! How do we bring him down???" His words spoke of anger, but also defeat.

"I... I don't know." Sengoku responded, his once unwavering determination was no longer as indomitable.

There was silence, long eerie silence. No one really knew what they faced there, what kind of monstrosity they had to go against... They simply couldn't understand the Stranger, how can he be real?

Just when they wanted to talk about the other subject, the other chaos brought down by the Strangers, someone entered the meeting place, an old lady, Tsuru.

"Sengoku, the elders want to talk to you... Alone." Without a question, Sengoku made his way to his own office and initiated the call.

"You heard about what happened here, have you not?" An Elder questioned the moment the call started.

"They tried to rob the Mary Geoise?" Sengoku asked. He of course knows and even expected the Strangers or the Pantheon to do something naughty while they were busy with Yovan.

"They robbed the Mary Geoise," Another Elder corrected, "Never send Garp here ever again."

Sengoku wanted to facepalm, but he couldn't, his face twitching in irritation, "What did he do this time?"

"He dozed off," The Elder responded before adding, "He's, however, following after them right now, so keep in contact with him to see if he can catch them or at least find out their base."

"Understood," Sengoku seriously nodded.

"Announce to the World... Yovan Night, the Stranger, wanted only dead. Bounty... Ten billion Beli as well as expungement of the bounty hunter's own bounty if they have one... No matter who it is." An Elder ordered.

"All of his crew members, bar none, shall have a bounty of two billion Beli... Only Dead." Another Elder added.

"The Pantheon's members as well, only Dead, for five billion Beli each. Information regarding the Pantheon or his crew members shall be rewarded with five billion Beli if deemed noteworthy." Another continued.

"If the Stranger's location is found, do not act, just inform us." Another ordered.

"Could it b-be?" Sengoku gulped in bewilderment.

"We shall act ourselves." The Elders stated before hanging up, and Sengoku couldn't help but relax in his chair, feeling exhausted, "I just want to retire."

He actually wanted to retire long ago, but the Stranger's existence and the death of a second World Noble delayed that, but now he at least has the excuse of having no arms.

On the other end, the Elders remained silent for a while after they ended the call, their expression clearly grave.

"They know," An Elder murmured.

"They must already have had some suspicion, and now, they verified it. Robbing the treasury was merely a distraction." An Elder noted.

Indeed, the Strangers and the Pantheon raided the Mary Geoise, separately. The Strangers raided the treasury while the Pantheon found themselves in the Mary Geoise's depths.

The Pantheon wanted to verify something as they had a suspicion that the Mary Geoise was the Capital of another nation before the World government.

It all relates to a dark history, what's called the Void Century, a century-long gap in recorded and archaeological history, the study of which is forbidden by the World Government.

The events of this period are so important and relevant that by learning them, one is said to become aware of the true history of the world.

That period became known as the Void Century because there is nothing left to acknowledge anything that happened in it, aside from the Poneglyphs which are written in a language that only a few living people know how to read.

"The Stranger might've copied some of the Road Poneglyphs, and he likely wants to use chaos to get the others." An Elder concluded.

"I wonder how much he really knows. He must've got hold of many other Poneglyphs." Another Elder wondered.

"It doesn't matter. We'll go by the assumption that he knows everything, meaning that every second he still breathes is one too many." An Elder stressed.

"Indeed, We've already allowed him to grow under our nose enough, no more."

"I can only hope it's not too late." An Elder let out a sigh, the seriousness of the matter clear in their tone.

"It's never too late." All at the same time, the Elders' eyes widened as they heard a hazy voice in their ears, instantly making them kneel down in worship.
