Chapter 175: The One Piece III

...........

"The D," Yovan stated as he looked up at the bright sky, "When the Night comes. When the moon shines bright in the shape of D... The First Quarter. That's the time recorded in the Poneglyphs."

The Strangers' eyes lit up in understanding, marveling at the magnificent traces of history and the ways of the ancient.

"What would happen if we go now?" Pudding asked with curiosity.

"I'm not entirely sure though I assume the tail of the sea God to be somewhere near," Yovan remarked, "Remember that the sealing of the creature didn't go exactly as planned."

"So its tail is free? And it's protecting Laugh tale?" Viola realized.

"It should be," Yovan nodded, "Its head had some freedom, allowing it to lunge at the Treasure Tree Adam before being sealed around it, but that doesn't seem to be the case for its tail."

"That's confusing," Kalifa noted with a frown before side-glancing at Yovan, "Unless?"

"Unless it has some sort of limited future vision? Or Joy Boy was able to free its tail," Yovan shrugged, a little unsure, "Either way, we might face a lot of danger on our way there, so be ready."

"What kind of danger?" Reiju asked.

"The Sea God, of course," Yovan laughed, "The right time is only the first requirement. The heart is the second... Why do you think Uranus wasn't able to acquire the One Piece in the past 800 years?"

"He knew about the One Piece despite Joy Boy trying to hide the fact? How would he know if no one else knew?" Bege questioned.

"Because Uranus is that scary, and there are many traces leading to the One Piece, such as the Poneglyphs, something the World Government banned, so they should know, yet they did nothing," Kalifa explained.

"It's not that they didn't do anything, it's more like they could do anything," Yovan corrected, "Wills can be inherited, so the One Piece should await a chosen one... That and the right time."

"So how did Roger reach Laugh Tale?" Viola wondered.

"The Sea Creature should have the ability to see through the heart of people, and Joy Boy may have had the ability to hear the Voice of all things, so they probably reached an agreement." Yovan simply explained.

"That's why Uranus couldn't get there nor could he send others there. The Sea God would see right through them, just like he should be able to see through me, to a certain extent." Yovan further added.

"And let me guess, the creature won't like what it will see and forbid your entry?" Kalifa asked with an amused smile.

"Likely so," Yovan nodded with a helpless shrug, "Well... It's kinda certain."

"Oh?" Everyone looked at him strangely, contemplating what's on his mind and what he was planning for the Godly creature, but if something was for certain, it's that chaos will be involved.

They waited and waited, spending some time just having fun while waiting for the First Quarter.

While there was still some sadness and residue emotions from Laffitte's death, the atmosphere was strangely more cheerful than what Yovan expected.

It seems that they believe in him more than he thought, even believing in something as abstract as resurrection.

However, Yovan wasn't lying. He truly believes that he can resurrect Laffitte. In fact, he can bring back a version of Laffitte now, but the fact that it's just a version explains why he won't do it.

The World Crow or crows in general is synonymous with many things, all of which fell under Yovan's control.

Afterlife Border, Clairvoyance, Fire Manipulation and/or Solar Manipulation, Necromancy, Death Inducement, Death Sense, Dimensional Travel, Grim Reaper Physiology, Vengeance Embodiment.

All of which are powers that he can clearly feel brewing within him, the flames of these powers quickly growing.

However, unfortunately, his control over such abstract concepts was not too good, and his mastery over the World Crow was growing, albeit slowly.

And Awakening the World Crow will certainly not be easy, and that says a lot considering his use of the Everless Crows.

However, his control over death was enough to bring back a downgraded version of Laffitte, probably a zombie version, perhaps a mindless one.

The Strangers waited until the First Quarter arrived which only took a few days. Yovan planned for their trip in such a way so that they won't have to wait for too long, and even took into consideration if their vacation in Elbaf would take too long.

Seizon No Hono dove under the surface, the sea blocked from touching the Ship due to Kalifa's bubble. They dove before the night and started heading toward the depths, to the dark peaceful depths.

In contrast to the dark depths near the Fishmen Island which are very dangerous and vibrant with life, this place was entirely empty.

There was no life to be seen, only desolation despite the abundance of plant life around, which should at least attract some herbivores sea life.

It was as if the sea creatures about could sense what lies within the Red Line, the Sea God.

Yovan stood at the top of the Crow's head, seemingly watching out for any danger, but in fact, his eyes were closed, focusing on something else entirely.

He wouldn't go to such a dangerous place without assurance because while he was confident in himself if things go wrong, he wasn't too confident in his crew, not when the opponent may be a godly creature.

The Everless Crows had already seen what lies in the depths, meaning he saw it as well. Similar to the depths under the Mary Geoise, there was also an entrance in the depths here.

There was a hole in the depths, in the Red Line, but what lies within was different, almost like a different realm. It was no passage, that's for sure.

Yovan's face twitched. Just when he thought it was relatively safe, his connection with his crows was suddenly cut out, or more like, they were eliminated, and it seems to be by water.

'Is that another?' He couldn't help but narrow his eyes and chose not to continue to prey too much. What stopped the crows wasn't that strong, it was merely its existence that surprised him.

And he didn't try to stop or fight it, allowing his crows to die, knowing that if he continued, another thing will act, and he didn't want it to.

The Strangers all stood behind him, dying of curiosity, with bathed breath. The words Roger left behind, very few can resist, and even they were curious about what the One Piece is.

Yovan once said that the One Piece is useless to him, but that didn't deter them one bit. That's Yovan after all.

Although they noticed his changing expression, they didn't disturb him nor did they wish to, wishing to see what lies in the depths for themselves.

There was only complete darkness which soon disappeared as the Crow's eyes shone in a luminous golden light, and above Seizon No Hono, a little sun manifested, instantly annihilating the darkness.

Far far in the depths, they could see something that isn't just the Red Line, a cave, and they were certain that the One Piece was there!!
