Chapter 153: Irrational Survivor

...........

Yovan still lives. He still breathes. He's still a danger, else Kizaru would've taken a chance to kill him. However, he escaped, the correct judgment as Yovan stood up and looked at the sky... It wasn't the end just yet.

[Irrational Survivor: 20%]

The Impossible became possible. The Absolute Survivor evolved beyond what it was supposed to, just as Yovan expected, and it brought him endless relief to know that his life isn't completely out of his hand.

Irrational Survivor isn't merely a title, Yovan was certain. It was something more, something grand due to what it grants, his ever-rising willpower was proof.

[Willpower: 7750/∞]

Somehow, it jumped way too much in the span of minutes. It rose by more than a thousand the moment his title evolved into Irrational Survivor... Yovan was happy.

He couldn't help but feel limitless relief and happiness, knowing that his predictions came true, knowing that all of his preparations weren't for naught.

His serene smile was a stark contrast to his current condition... It was irrational considering he barely had any skin left, only flesh, and bones. His head being the only somewhat intact part.

His body which suffered through limitless torture could handle having hundreds of holes and wounds on it, too many to make sense.

And that wasn't the end, not as Yovan eyed the sky with a satisfied sigh. Well, eyed wasn't the right word because while his head was relatively intact, it still suffered a lot... He has no eyes.

The entirety of his outer body was completely melted by his own golden flames, flames so hot and destructive that even he, the God of the Sun couldn't completely control it.

[Devil Fruit: Kakin Kakin no Mi, Model: Three-Legged Crow: 2969/∞]

However, the day he can gain perfect control over his powers wasn't too far off.

Still, he could see, or he could sense what was happening in the sky. He could feel the now bright sky getting darker.

The remnants of his supernova acted as the sun in the middle of the night... Until some dark eerie clouds interfered, bringing upon darkness again.

Yovan sensed danger, danger to his life. Despite how reckless he may seem, he's actually very cautious, extremely so. Recklessness isn't a problem as long as it doesn't endanger his life.

His Instinct was far beyond any living creature in the entire world. If something is capable of killing him, he can see it miles ahead, thus why he allows his body to suffer through such torment.

Yovan knows his limits. They're almost limitless, so anything that threatens his life, he will avoid, just like what's happening high in the sky, what's hidden in the dark ghostly clouds.

His instinct told him that he will certainly die if he chose to take it head-on. Moreover, Yovan could clearly see that someone is eyeing him from afar.

Kizaru had yet to leave. He took everyone away but came back, watching Yovan from afar, ready to obliterate any hint of feathers in the surrounding.

The Marines were prepared. No, the World Government were prepared to put him to rest, bringing out such a weapon of pure destruction on top of blocking his teleportation.

"Haha," Yovan couldn't help but let out a little chuckle, "No one understands. No one would be able to understand... That desire to survive requires danger... I no longer want to just survive."

He couldn't help but murmur to himself as Yovan flared his wings, new spotless wings... Not just two wings but four dark ominous wings.

He has no eyes, but he could see it, or sense a future where he survives, just as expected, that's why he used Kaido and Katakuri as training dummies... For this very day.

[Observation Haki (Presence. Strength. Intent. Emotion. Future Vision): 3185/∞]

Yovan can see the future, and he has been seeing it throughout the battle to assure his survival, but that wasn't it, there was more.

"Three seconds," He couldn't help but chuckle again, "I'm such a monster, a monster beyond imagination, so far beyond it that I have to be... Alone."

That's the unfortunate truth he had come to understand... Sooner or later, he will have to be alone.

How could others live in his shadow? How would they live in the shadow of someone who allowed the catastrophe to fall upon him just to push himself further? A catastrophe that can destroy countries.

The earth rumbled in fright. The sky howled in pain. The clouds made way in terror as they opened up to allow numerous white lasers to fall, lasers the likes of which Kizaru couldn't make.

Each laser was so massive it could envelop several builds. There were hundreds of them, and now these lasers were about to fall upon Yovan, basically a skeleton.

"Hah," Yovan released a breath as he grasped his blade, Enyo, lifting it high against the incoming beams.

He could sense Enyo's fear, and he knows that the blade can not hope to truly stop the catastrophe, yet it did... Or he did.

[Willpower: 7750/∞]

Through the tip of his blade, he released his burning limitless willpower as it thundered upon coming into contact with the beams.

"The fuck is happening!!??" Kizaru who was watching from afar could help but curse in confusion. The concept of common sense being eradicated right before him.

He could hear something akin to space cracking as some kind of golden force collided with the beams, splitting them in half, and even redirecting them away from Yovan.

The beams fell upon the sea miles around him, their fall sucking away sound as silence prevailed throughout until all that was left was a vast hollow of darkness going deep into the ground.

That wasn't the end, however, as the beams were endless, vast and endless, showing that Yovan's willpower was in fact not limitless.

Yovan could feel his very soul cracking, being compressed forcefully, bringing him unimaginable pain, but his expression changed none.

Only the divine golden lightning around him spoke to what was actually happening, how much willpower was being released at that very moment, so concentrated Kizaru couldn't feel it at all.

Not until it finally fell apart. Yovan couldn't hold on anymore. His willpower was overwhelmed for the first time in an eternity as Enyo crumbled, only the hilt remained in his hand.

Even his body began to crumble as the seething beams fell upon him, almost instantly obliterating him if not for his Haki still prevailing, protecting him for exactly three seconds.

That was way too long of a time span, way way too long. He should've been erased instantly, but his will prevailed yet again, until the beams stopped reaching him.

The lasers of destruction could no longer reach him as a door appeared before him, a relatively small door that Yovan opened, grasped and brought himself through it.

Only then was what was left of his willpower released throughout in a wave, a howel that reached even Kizaru, his eyes widening, his mind buzzing, losing control of his body for a second.

He even started falling to sea before getting hold of himself, vanishing in a beam of light in fright, only he knew how drenched was his back in cold sweat.

[Willpower: 8075/∞] The Stranger's willpower had started to reach some incomprehensible numbers.

That same stranger appeared in quite the peculiar place, the same place but green... He escaped into an alternate dimension, a very familiar dimension.

It was a dimension Blueno, one of the CP9 could enter before his death in the hands of Yovan. The latter had, in fact, killed him in his own dimension.

Later, he got his Devil Fruit, and he once stated that the one who will eat it was none other than Gloom, Yovan's crow, a crow he created, not a living being.

"Well done, Gloom," Yovan said as he barely found the will in himself to pat the dark crow beside him, having been waiting for him in this dimension for long.

[Everless Crows: 3256/∞]

His Everless crow had reached such mastery that he can basically give birth to almost living crows, crows under his complete control.

All he had to do was to use his future vision to experiment with them, verifying that his crows can, in fact, eat Devil Fruits.

Yovan barely had the willpower to keep himself conscious. He felt like he was losing control of himself, and just as he was about to create a door to sit upon and pass out, he sensed something.

Yovan sensed something he didn't expect. He pushed himself even beyond his expectations.

[Devil Fruit: Kakin Kakin no Mi, Model: Three-Legged Crow: 2970/∞]

He was experiencing awakening. He found himself enveloped in a floating sun, a warm sun that brought him endless need to just sleep, to just allow himself to finally rest.

For the first time in ever, Yovan just relaxed and allowed himself to rest, going into hibernation in the Golden Sun.
