Chapter 193: Irrational Indeterminacy II (End)

...........

Even future vision couldn't help them at all, not with the future being so distorted due to Yovan. They could only take a beating, played around with until Yovan lost his head... Literally.

It was as if Yovan could see the future, a future far away, allowing him to play with them, and even when they hit him, he basically just shrugs it off.

And even Luffy's comical and nonsensical awakening could do nothing against him, giving Yovan's body the properties of rubber was also useless as the power seems to lose effect once Yovan scatters.

It was a hopeless fight, their mind foggy as the temperature about was only getting higher and higher, melting through their Haki... Until Yovan's head was sliced off.

Just as he was playing with the two, Im reappeared... No, several Im appeared, all at the same time, surrounding Yovan.

Normally, Yovan would just scatter. However, Im somehow appeared in such a way that made her hand come in contact with Yovan's head instantly, and that somehow made the curse of the sea come alive.

At that moment, Yovan's body felt muddled, as if he was in water, meaning that he had not only lost his control over his body but also his Devil Fruit.

It still surprises him that he's still affected by the Devil Fruits' curse despite evolving past it, reaching the level of the World Crow, a creature that rivals the World Serpent.

Although it does make sense considering his Devil Fruit's origin was the World Serpent, and his evolution didn't get rid of that weakness.

Im's actions were quick, and ruthless, without as much as a speck of hesitation as she used the two of Luffy and Garp as a distraction to act, her saber cleanly slicing Yovan's head.

Im seemingly succeeded in using Yovan's weakness to eliminate him as shock surfaced on Luffy and Garp's faces, seeing Yovan's head detach from his falling body.

However, that wasn't the end as Im's decisive nature wouldn't allow her to make any mistakes, mistakes she made in the Void century which allowed for the birth of so many variables.

So, still grasping her saber tightly, she retracted it slightly before stabbing toward Yovan's head which was still in her hand... Danger, so much danger... The danger of Death... Im felt it clearly.

Im even felt fear as she looked at Yovan's detached head which was adorning a smile as he eyed her.

There is still a lot of debate on how long the brain stays conscious after decapitation, and it's said that it should be around seconds to even more than ten seconds, although what kind of consciousness remains is still up to question.

Yet that still won't matter because decapitation has the added bonus of the near-instant loss of all blood pressure to the brain... That in and of itself might be enough to shock you into unconsciousness.

Yovan remembered a certain article he had stumbled upon in his past life, the findings of Dr. Beaurieux, who made an experiment related to this subject back in 1905 on a prisoner sentenced to death by guillotine.

It goes as follows... Here, then, is what I was able to note immediately after the decapitation: the eyelids and lips of the guillotined man worked in irregularly rhythmic contractions for about five or six seconds.

This phenomenon has been remarked by all those finding themselves in the same conditions as myself for observing what happens after the severing of the neck...

"I waited for several seconds. The spasmodic movements ceased. The face relaxed, the lids half closed on the eyeballs, leaving only the white of the conjunctiva visible, exactly as in the dying whom we have occasion to see every day in the exercise of our profession, or as in those just dead.

It was then that I called in a strong, sharp voice: "Languille!" I saw the eyelids slowly lift up, without any spasmodic contractions – I insist advisedly on this peculiarity – but with an even movement, quite distinct and normal, such as happens in everyday life, with people awakened or torn from their thoughts.

Next Languille's eyes very definitely fixed themselves on mine and the pupils focused themselves.

I was not, then, dealing with the sort of vague dull look without any expression, that can be observed any day in dying people to whom one speaks: I was dealing with undeniably living eyes which were looking at me.

"After several seconds, the eyelids closed again, slowly and evenly, and the head took on the same appearance as it had had before I called out.

"It was at that point that I called out again and, once more, without any spasm, slowly, the eyelids lifted and undeniably living eyes fixed themselves on mine with perhaps even more penetration than the first time.

Then there was a further closing of the eyelids, but now less complete. I attempted the effect of a third call; there was no further movement – and the eyes took on the glazed look which they have in the dead.

It's horrifying to imagine that those who died of decapitation or things similar would be aware of their state, and would be aware of the things around them and their current death state.

It's even more horrifying to imagine a decapitated person still having the ability to look at his headless body and the thoughts going through their mind at that moment.

Yovan experienced it all. He, in fact, experienced it several times, constantly seeing it in the future, and finally, he allowed it to happen in reality, in the present.

The World moved incredibly slowly in his eyes, slow to a ridiculous degree, feeling like Im moving even an inch was taking years. Hell, even the movement of his body looked slow in his eyes.

Indeed, the movement of his own body, his headless body which actually moved much to the absolute horror of Luffy and Garp.

Everything that took place so far happened in the span of a split second, and the things that happened, even Im found herself stunned, especially as Yovan's headless body touched her.

It was an instant, a very familiar feeling, the feeling of the Devil Fruit's curse, although that wasn't what it was.

Yovan's touch, instead of being hot, meltingly hot, was cold, chillingly cold to the point that Im felt her brain being muddled, just one of Yovan's many powers, the combination of slowing down time, and the Dead's Touch.

The Slow Slow Devil Fruit, he acquired a while ago, and he used it several times throughout the Grand War, and the Dead's touch was one of his many powers as the World Crow.

So if Im wanted to teleport away or react in any way, she couldn't, allowing the thin golden blade that acted on its own, to slice off her head.

Such a strange scene... God, Yovan wanted to paint so dearly, and he will... The scene of hot melting air, lava all about, Luffy and Garp with horrified expressions, which says a lot considering all the things they went through.

Even more, this might just be a traumatic experience for them, for before them was a head, slowly falling with a smile, and his headless body which in contrast, stopped falling, and instead touched another body.

Then there was the gorgeous flying blade which sought to perfect the painting as it decapitated Im... Two headless bodies, and two heads, looking at each other with very different expressions.

Im's head spoke of confusion, bewilderment, and disbelief, not because she lost, but because Yovan seemingly also lost?

She saw no World in which they both win or lose, for such a world would mean one of them made a sacrifice they wouldn't make, yet in this world, Yovan sacrificed his life to stop her?

Yovan whose deepest characteristic seems to be survival chose death instead? Not in her wildest dreams would she have expected that.

He is the kind that won't mind getting fucked up if it means destroying the opponent in return, but never at the cost of his life. When it comes to his life and death, he almost becomes like a nonsensical monster whose death is simply impossible.

Yet what just happened broke her common sense... Until she remembered that Yovan simply can not be measured by common sense, so as the two heads were falling, they eyed each other.

Or specifically, Im eyed him with inquiring eyes, only seeing a smile on his pale bloody face, a smile of satisfaction... Just what is his purpose? Im wondered before her eyes slowly but surely lost focus.

And as the heads fell in lava, their destiny was assured... Death. Silence... There was only silence for a long while before someone appeared, muttering, "You did it... You really did it?"

The man's appearance took the two of Luffy and Garp out of their stupor, for before them was none other than Monkey D. Dragon, Garp's son, and Luffy's father.

No, he wasn't alone. The entirety of the Pantheon appeared, all mostly in silence, except for Kalifa who took a step forward, seeing the last piece of Yovan's cape burning away in the lava.

And with trembling lips, she murmured, "You made us a promise... Please keep it."

The World was speechless, literally, all in silence as the news spread throughout, not even the most insane or reasonable of people found themselves able to make sense of what happened.

The two battles, each on a different side of the World, resulted in the crumbling of the Red Line, slowly but surely, it crumbled to pieces, but fortunately, the Pantheon acted and saved the Fishman Island.

The Island lies beneath the Red Line, so it would've certainly crumbled if the colossal ship Noah wasn't used to transport them away before the war.

The World was in chaos for a short while before it slowly but surely regained order. The World Government was no more, and all their atrocious crimes and history were revealed to the World.

The World Nobles and the loyal forces of the World Government seemingly vanished out of thin air, the doing of the Pantheon.

And under the influence of the Pantheon, the World was regaining peace. No, it was becoming more peaceful than it ever was as the fear the Stranger left behind forced the World to unite.

However, the records of the Stranger were being erased, little by little. All the history of the World can be known but not that of Yovan for he was an anomaly, a goal many may take and seek, thus a danger.

"Well, what do you think?" Someone asked. It was a golden-haired gentleman, enjoying the breeze of nature, the greenery of the wild, and the caws of crows.

"Me? Cap, you jest, you surely know my tase," And another more mischievous voice responded.

"Too peaceful for your taste?" The man spoke with a chuckle.

"Yup!" The other nodded vigorously, "But don't worry, I will still somehow find a way to make it fun. Speaking of which, it's time for me to go, Captain."

"Oh, I don't doubt that," The golden-haired man said as he stood up alongside the other man, "And, Laffitte... Tell them I said hello."

"Lahahaha, sure, if I remember!" It was time to go for both of them, Laffitte realized that.

The golden-haired 'gentleman' was of course none other than Yovan who watched Laffitte walk away.

Without watching for long, he turned around, eyeing the bright sky, able to see through the clouds to detect the celestial body that was orbiting the planet, the moon.

Yovan happened to have an earning, two earnings actually, an earning of wings and another of the moon, stroking the latter was a habit of his, one which resulted in something very peculiar.

At one moment, Yovan was on the green peaceful Island, at another moment, he was standing on the moon, a smile slowly forming on his face as he remembered the past.

[Irrational Survivor: 99%]

[Irrational Survivor: 99.9%]

[Irrational Survivor: 100%]

He remembered slowly losing all signs of life as he lost his head, although still conscious. He remembered his head falling into lava, still conscious yet feeling no pain... Then it happened.

It wasn't out of chance, it was out of certainty... Yovan wouldn't risk his life or death in such a way. He knew what would happen and it happened exactly how he saw it.

[Irrational Survivor: 100%]

[Limitless: 100%]

He remembered Limitless finally showing its true colors, nothing but a concept waiting to be passed down to the right hands, and Yovan just happened to want even more, more than Limitless.

The concept of limitless might as well be called Rational Indeterminacy which can be explained as being beyond all scale and limits except for those that would defy reason.

For example, no user with this rendition of the power could achieve something irrational as "greater than Omnipotence" or "smarter than Omniscience" as there is no more space left for advancement beyond that. In which case, their power could be relatively gauged as less than or equal to totality.

Yovan knew the previous limitless was within this scale, likely limitless but still limited to only the limitlessness of this universe, multiverse, or whatever his universe may be.

So Yovan sought something different, something that formed in accordance with his wishes as the Irrational Survivor took effect, saving him by merging with limitless, and forming what can be called, Irrational Indeterminacy.

Such a concept is The same as above, except without the reason barrier. The users of this power are so far beyond completely everything that the mere argument of their power is invalid.

The power may also extend to every other trait of their being. The user's existence would break logic, as they are beyond every concept that could anchor them, even infinity and whatever is beyond that as well.

In simple terms, if Rational Indeterminacy is infinite, then Irrational Indeterminacy is beyond infinite.

That's and was Yovan's purpose, one he achieved in spite of all that stood before him, and so now, infinite... No, beyond infinite possibilities stood before him, "Hah hahaha Yahahahahaha!!"
