89 Dropped…!

Jackson POV

While I was playing with Rebecca in the flower field, Enel suddenly appeared and told me that a certain pirate group is approaching before going silent…

"…Are you also going to tell me which pirate group?"

Appearing out of nowhere, telling me someone noteworthy is coming here and then not saying anything else and instead looking around with a stupid smile on his face for close to 5 minutes… Isn't this a provocation?

'It seems like he is asking for a beat-… for a sparring.'

*shivers*

"Cough! But yes of course. It's the Arr-Arr-Pirate crew." (Enel)

As if knowing what went through my head just now, Enel corrected himself and answered the question hurriedly.

"So they Are finally here. That's good. We can ignore them for now but make contact tonight and lead them to the palace, secretly of course. Also invite the king and the dwarves to a meeting tonight."

"Aye!"

After saying this Enel turned into blue lightning and vanished from our sight in an instant while Sachi and Penguin walked back in a relaxed manner. Once they were gone, I felt a curious gaze on me. It's probably little Rebecca, wondering who the Arr-Arr-Pirates are.

"Onii-san, who Are the Arr-Arr-Pirates?"

I was spot on. Cutely tilting her head and looking up to meet my eyes, she asked what I thought she would. Well in truth they aren't real pirates. It's one of many cover methods the revolutionaries use to secretly transport people, or items.

At first it sounded incredibly stupid to disguise themselves as pirates since they will be attacked by the navy regardless of how well the cover works but at some point Koala explained the idea behind it to us.

The cover is not about avoiding the Navy but the Cipher Pole. The first question that came to my mind when this was explained was why didn't they disguise themselves as merchants or something like that but it turns out that is a method they use as well just not in the new world.

Merchant ships in the new world are rare because it's no different from a fat sheep walking into a den of carnivores. Usually they are escorted by the navy after requesting protection but it will be noted and monitored.

For the request to be approved a detailed inspection of both, items and workers are to be conducted. Long story short, merchant ships without official escort in the new world are drawing attention since in more than 90% of the cases, they are smuggling something. Apparently only newbies and idiot do it this openly.

'Are they the kind of people who would rather be sank by the navy than get captured by the CP?'

I felt a sudden pull on my leg that pulled me out of my thoughts. Again it was Rebecca who was looking up at me, with a squirrel-like pout and puffed cheeks that made her absolutely adorable.

"Hey Onii-san! Don't ignore me! Hey!"

I know she is 12 years old but to me, a 9ish feet tall guy, she looked no different than a toddler at that moment. The temptation to pat her head of pinch her cheeks was really great but in the end I just sat down and answered her.(AN: I swear if I see a single creep commenting 'which cheeks' I'm calling the FBI)

"They are just some people I know but keep this a secret. We plan a big surprise for the WG once my brother and Law return."

"A surprise?! Something like a party? Or a gift?"

No idea how she reached that conclusion when I obviously meant a nasty surprise. Though I didn't get to correct her either.

There was no need to tell her about this kind of surprises so I just gently smiled and patted her head. She smiled as a tinge of red colorized her cheeks, which made me laugh a bit until the well known light screen suddenly appeared before my eyes with the most random and most unsettling message I have read so far.

'Officer I'm innocent!!! This is a set up!'

Was my first thought.

'Which scummy bastard made a nasty quest like this?! I swear I'll rip you apart!'

Was my second thought.

'*sob*sob* How did I even clear a quest like this? I swear I'm not a lolicon! I like older women! Sexy Onee-San types! Thicc MILF types! I'm a high ranking member of the 'thicc tights save lives' cult! Is this the burden of being too handsome?'

Was my depressing third thought after reading the message on the light screen.

"Onii-san I have to go back now! Bye!"

My inner peace was almost gone, so much so that I didn't pay attention when Rebecca ran back to the castle in a flustered state. The news that I made a little girl fall for me… Well thinking about it Rebecca wasn't 'little' or 'small' at all in the anim- No! Don't lose focus!

'Even in the anime, when Luffy came to Dressrosa she she was just 16… actually she will grow up to be quite the beau- No! Stupid! Focus!'

For now I decided to turn my attention back to the light screen. It stated that I can choose another ability so if luck is on my side, a super strong ability could be generated!

[First choice: Rho Aias]

'Ok this is actually a pretty cool ability. Only thing that concerns me is the output. During UBW it wasn't able to block lancer but in heavens feel I found it quite impressive. What's next?'

[Second choice: Summon the hanging garden of Babylonia]

'Holy #%*%<^?! That's so cool! I would have probably picked this if it weren't for the fact that Sabo can do something similar. What's the last option?'

[Third choice: Sharingan]

'…That's a tough choice, do I pick Rho Aias or the hanging gardens?'

Objectively seen, if I wanted something like the gardens I could just ask Sabo. With me and the others any island we happen to pick up would be comparable to the gardens. (AN: correct me if I forgot something about this it's been a while since I watched it.)

On the other hand, if I manage a to achieve a high power output with Rho Aias it might become an insane lifesaving skill.

As for the sharingan… honestly I don't need it. With my current level of observation haki, the basic sharingan is close to useless. The mangekyou might give me some cool abilities but it also might make me go blind if I don't steal Ace's eyes and let's not even mention the awakening condition for it. That's a hard pass.

"In the end I choose you… Cliffhang- *cough* Rho Aias!"

Meanwhile on Amazon Lilly

The snake princess Boa Hancock, got sick shortly after she left the island where she bathed in the hot springs. It's been more than a week since but her condition remained the same putting her life at risk.

"Ja…Ja…"

During the times she was awake the warlord of the sea would mutter 'Ja…' over and over again but no one knew what it means. High fever, pain in her chest and barely eating anything were the symptoms she suffered from.

Even the medics didn't know how to possibly help anymore. Currently was in her room sleeping while her sisters watched over her together with elder Nyon.

"I don't understand it. Are you sure she didn't meet anyone on the way?"

The elder asked the sisters while nervously walking in circles, as the worry in her tone was increasing to the point where it was hard to miss.

"Yes we Are sure! To begin with you assumption that big sis fell for a dirty man is absolutely impo-!"

Sandersonia rebutted the elder but was interrupted when Hancock woke up.

"Jack…"

"Big sister!"

She started muttering again, unable to focus or listen to the people present in her sleeping chambers.

The elder helplessly watched from the side all this time but it had reached a point where she felt that something must be done even if it's just a lucky shot.

"Elder Nyon what are you doing?!"

Squeezing through the two younger sisters she climbed on the bed and grabbed Hancock's face, forcing the later to look at her.

"Stand up and find him! Don't just sleep but go and visit him! Imagine how happy he will be when he sees you again. You've been just sleeping while he probably missed you-!"

Truth be told, Nyon didn't no who she was speaking about or if the person she believed to have caused this, even existed. Before she could say more Marigold had pulled her away from Hancock fearing that it might worsen her condition.

Yet before she could argue with the elder, the snake princess suddenly sat up. Her hair was a bit wet from the sweet, her face tinged with a touch of red while her big blue eyes shone like a very long time ago. Her lips slowly curled up into a lovely smile that couldn't be hidden even when Hancock tried it. Unlike before her voice was soft and she sounded full of anticipation of something when she started speaking shyly before starting to giggle like a teenage girl.

"Really? Are you sure he misses me? Should I go and see him again?"

*lightning SFX*

Had the shock the other three received, been just a bit stronger, it would have send the two snake sisters into coma and elder Nyon to the afterlife.

"What Are you doing?! Hurry and prepare the ship while I dress up! I'm going to see Jackson again!"

Jumping out of her bed as if she wasn't seriously ill for a week straight, Hancock ran to her dressing room and started to rummage for the perfect outfit, the shy smile never leaving her face.Meanwhile Nyon was the first one to snap out of it.

Running after Hancock and seeing her behavior almost caused the elder to question her own sanity.

'Just what happened and who is this Jackson… Jackson?…'

"…Hime-sama… by any chance… the Jackson you just mentioned… he wouldn't happen to be-"

Before she could finish her question Hancock turned around with a beaming smile.

"Of course I mean Portgas D. Jackson… kyaa"

The small kyaa she let out while shyly burying her face in her hands would have turned any straight man who saw this to stone. Even the elder would have been in danger if her mind wasn't occupied by a singe thought.

"NANI?!" (Nyon)
