1 A new life

On the small island Baterilla in South Blue

In a small room a mother was holding her two sons in her arms. The boys were just born not long ago as one of them was still crying. Together with them were 3 more people. The young mothers parents and a tall middle aged man.

„If it's a girl… Anne and if it's a boy… Ace. Those names… he picked them."

The mother narrated melancholically as a tear slowly streaked down her cheek.

„So his name… is Gol D. Ace."

Said the young mother and kissing the crying baby gently on the head.

„We never thought that we would get twins so we haven't prepared a name for a second boy."

Her parents just silently listened unable to say a word. They felt as if something was strangling them as breathing was painful and an unexplainable pressure was spreading in their chest at the same time. Both parents knew if they tried to talk they would start to cry just like Ace is doing

„I know how he thought of Ace as our sons name. So in memory of his father… his name is Gol D. Jackson"

She then gently kissed the calm, slightly bigger baby on the head, just as she did before. Bringing the two boys close to her face she lovingly cuddled with them, knowing that she doesn't has much time left. The baby, Jackson, who had stopped crying relatively fast after his birth, started to cry again as if he could feel her complicated emotions.

„Our sons… our little boys… Ace, Jackson"

Rouge called out her sons names a last time before falling unconscious… never to wake up again.

„Rouge!!"

Both her parents cried out no able to hold back any longer. Their daughter, Portgas D. Rouge, gave birth to her two sons after 20 months of pregnancy on the 1st of January, 15 months after pirate king Gol D. Roger's execution, so that they could live.

This is how my new life as Portgas D. Jackson, later Gol D. Jackson, began.

I was just a college student studying biochemistry (and a huge weeb) before I was reincarnated into the world of One Piece. Why was I reincarnated? Funny story, really!

During my final year, I and some other students and professors were kidnapped by a delusional terrorist group. My personal guess as to why this happened is that having watched to many action series they got the idea of becoming bio terrorists, but not having any knowledge about biology or chemistry they decided to kidnapp some people who should know what they needed to know. So they did the first thing they could think of, went to the biochemistry institute of a renowned and famous college and kidnapped some people they found working there. ‚Didn't anybody call the police? How could you get kidnapped from there so easily?' Hell if I know! We were brought to an old factory, where they told us to create a deadly, unbeatable and incurable virus that could spread extremely fast and in many ways. Problem was just that they didn't prepare a laboratory, equipment or any kind of recourses and after I mentioned it to them, they also realized that their plan was most likely already set for failure.

So what did they decide to do then? Shortsighted as the leader was, he chose to kill us all since we now knew where their base of operation was. Funny point no. 1 is that we didn't know where we were. Just that it's an factory but we didn't even know what kind of factory or where it was located.

Funny point no. 2 is that their plan would have worked if I hadn't said anything… or so I was told afterwards by the being made out of light that introduced itself as god. Yeah I seem to have met ‚god'. According to him one prof, the unpopular forever single prof, felt so frightened that he would have created such a virus at his workplace and given to him in exchange for his life. So I technically saved over a billion people by ‚sacrificing' myself and my friends. (Pft XD)

Touched by my ‚selfless' course of action it (I won't call it god if it misunderstood the situation so hard) decided to give me a second life in a world of my choice, even going as far as to give me a cheat. Sadly the cheat was randomly chosen. Luckily I got an amazing cheat. Choosing a character I would slowly synchronize with him/her and gain said characters powers and skills over time. But!!! There is always a but. The character will also be chosen randomly and according to ‚it' the chosen character could be whoever was ever shown, so for an example I could get Son Goku or Saitama BUT!!! I could also get a civilian. As if that wasn't enough the cheat AND my memories will only be unlocked after my 5th birthday. FURTHERMORE the duration of the synchronization depends on the chosen character, so the stronger the character the slower the synchronization without considering the boost training provides. ON TOP OF THAT!!! part of my memories will be deleted! I remember stuff like the chosen world's plot and that I had a life before this one but no names or faces and other such details of people from my first life.

The world I chose is One Piece since I am a diehard fan. I even got to choose in which family I want to be born! I chose to be born as Roger's son! Why did I choose to be born as the Pirate King's son and not a noble or a world noble? Nobles are helpless against powerhouses and have a lot and strict family rules and world nobles are disgusting! I would have probably jumped one of them the moment I regained my memories. Why not a normal family or any family that is less dangerous? Well if I did I wouldn't inherit Roger's good genes! Also I didn't choose One Piece so I could hide away! I know that there will be a huge storm following me during my second life! How do I know that? Simple I plan to create one and I will ride the storm all way long!

Well today is my and Ace's 5th birthday my memory returned my cheat activated and the character that was chosen is fricking GOAT Gol D. Roger… my father in this world!
