55 Storm

Luffy and Sanji were sitting outside of the Baratie while watching Gin eating the plate of food while crying his heart out.

Luffy cooked the meat while Sanji cooked the rest of the food. Sanji was looking at Luffy weirdly.

"This rice.... this meat..... This is the best food I've ever tasted in my life!!" Gin shouted while eating the food rapidly while seemingly not showing signs of choking anytime soon.

Gin seemed to always cry harder when he ate the meat Luffy cooked. Sanji who was smoking his problems away, was confused. 'Is the meat really that good? ' He asked himself.

"I found a good chef." Luffy whispered, capturing Sanji's attention. Luffy looked at Sanji.

"You're a really cool chef, Sanji. I want you to cook for us. Would you like to join me? Please become my pirate chef. " Luffy asked nicely.

" What? So you really are a pirate. Why did you fire that cannon at us?" Sanji asked him. Gin had already finished the heavenly meal and was now listening to the conversation.

"Oh, um.... Shishishishi..... When I was fighting that Fullbody guy's marine ship. They fired a cannonball at us, I sort of uh..... grabbed it and threw it away." Luffy grinned sheepishly at him, making Sanji groan and palm his face.

" What?" Gin was extremely confused at how that situation could even happen in the first place.

"So how long are you going to be working here?" Sanji asked him. Luffy grinned and held up one finger.

"1 day. I'm gonna cook some meat for old man Zeff. If it's delicious then I'll only be here for a day. " Luffy explained, making Sanji snort.

" You? Impress the old man? No chance! I can't even impress him! So just accept your fate, pirate. You're gonna be here for a while." Sanji smirked at him. Luffy smirked back.

" Anyways, would you like to join my crew?" Luffy changed the topic. Sanji shook her head.

"Sorry kid, I have a reason to stay here." Sanji apologized.

" I refuse your refusal, Sanji! You are a very good chef, so I want you to become a pirate with me!" Luffy replied determinedly. Sanji had sweat dripping down his forehead.

" Would you listen?" Sanji asked, getting irritated by his determination.

"What is your reason, Sanji? Tell me." Luffy asked her.

"Why should I?"

" But you just told me to listen to you, damnit!! " Luffy shouted at her. Sanji glared back.

" I mean that you should listen to others, you little brat! Don't you understand!? " Sanji argued with him. Luffy clenched his fists and stood up. He looked down at the chef.

Sanji gulped as his height was a little too overwhelming for him, even though he's seen taller people before.

"Call me a brat again man, and see what happens." Luffy threatened with a stoic face.

" Excuse me for interrupting. My name is Gin and I work for the Krieg Pirates. You're a pirate right? What's your goal? " Gin asked him. Luffy grinned and sat down again.

" My goal is becoming the Pirate King and find the One Piece!! I also intend to start a new era like Gol D Roger did!! That's why I'm gonna recruit her, we're gonna go to the Grand Line!" Luffy declared while flashing him a confident grin. Gin widened his eyes.

"You said that you're looking for a chef, I'm guessing you don't have many crew members? "

" Now I have 5 members including him. " Luffy replied while pointing at Sanji.

" Who told you to include me, idiot! "

Gin sighed at Sanji's shouting and looked at Luffy seriously.

"You're a good kid, so I want to tell you something. Don't ever go to the Grand Line!! You're still young, so don't waste your life there! " Gin warned him seriously. Luffy remained silent for a while. But then he started laughing hysterically, shocking the two people present.

"Gin!! I did not prepare to be a pirate for 10 years just to be warned about how dangerous the pirate's life is!! What do you know about the Grand Line and why are you so scared about it!?" Luffy asked. Gin clutched his head and started trembling.

" I don't know a thing about it! That's why I'm so afraid!" Gin replied.

"Why's a Krieg's Pirate such a wimp. " Sanji commented. Luffy looked at him.

" Ya know Gin, there are a lot of books out there that talk about how to navigate through the Grand Line and what to watch out for. " Luffy pointed out. Gin looked at him with a shocked face.

" For real? "

" Yes, for real for real. "

" Th-then..... We could've had a much easier time there.... " Gin clutched his head tighter. Luffy frowned.

" Ah, so you guys were overconfident. Well, this should serve as a good lesson. " Sanji muttered and breathed out smoke from the cigarette. He looked at it and saw that it was really short now so she threw it away.

"I gotta go now. But I warned you, kid." Gin looked at Luffy who grinned at him.

" The name's Monkey D Luffy. And I'm the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. Don't you ever forget that! And I don't care about your warnings, I'll still go to the Grand Line!!" Luffy declared. Gin laughed.

"Hahaha!!! That's up to you! I don't have any right to stop you! And thank you both, Sanji and Luffy. I owe you my life, that rice and meat you both cooked up was heavenly. " Gin thanked them sincerely. He then smiled warmly at them.

" Can I come back?" He asked. Sanji grinned back.

" Anytime. " He replied. Gin who was in a small dinghy started sailing away.

Sanji grabbed the plates and glass cup that Gin had eaten and drank in. She then threw it away.

"Hey, I thought I said I would pay for it. You don't need to dispose the evidence." Luffy pouted. Sanji grinned and put a finger on his lips.

" Hey kids!!! Stop talking and get to work!!! " They turned around to see Zeff narrowing his eyes at them. Luffy turned to see Gin getting on both knees and bowing down at them.

"You be careful and take care now, Gin!!" Luffy shouted while waving at him. Gin looked at him and nodded.

He them looked at Sanji. "Alright, Sanji. Let's get to work then."

" Hey, old man. Is that deal still up? " Luffy asked Zeff. Zeff looked at him.

" I promise you won't get food poisoning. " Luffy grinned at him. Zeff sighed.

" Fine. " Zeff grumbled out his answer.

" Yes! " Luffy cheered before grabbing a slab of meat from the refrigerator. He then started cooking it.

Zeff gulped as he was staring at the most ordinary slab of meat he'd ever seen in his life. The meat was on a plate with no decorations at all. It was too ordinary for his tastes.

Everyone was staring at the scene silently. They were curious. Zeff grabbed a fork and knife and started cutting the slab of meat.

He cut out a small piece and ate it. Zeff started biting it, he then swallowed it. Zeff looked down while his hands were trembling.

"Old man?" Sanji called him, feeling concerned. Zeff suddenly dropped to the ground on both knees.

"OWNER ZEFF!!"

The chefs gasped in horror and immediately went to his side. They all glared at Luffy who smirked back at them.

"Old man! Are you alright?!" Sanji asked him. Zeff looked up. Everyone gasped as they saw tears flowing out of Zeff's eyes.

"That..... that was the tastiest, most exquisite piece of meat I've ever eaten in my whole life!!" Zeff declared, shocking all to the core. They all looked at Luffy.

"Shishishishishi!!!" Luffy laughed at their reactions.

He remembered the first time Makino ate the meat he cooked, it was an enjoyable sight that's for sure.

"There's no way it's that good!" Sanji shouted and grabbed the knife and fork Zeff used. He cut out a small piece of meat and ate it.

"MMMMMM!!!!" Sanji widened his eyes as he immediately dropped to the ground and fell unconscious.

"SANJI!!!!"

Zeff was baffled to say the least.
