50 Going Merry

"Wow!!!" Luffy had stars in his eyes as he marveled at the caravel in front of him. Merry smiled proudly.

"This is the Going Merry. It was first conceptualized by me two years after Gold— sorry... Gol D Roger's execution. The ship was originally designed by Merry for Kaya Ojou-sama as a luxury vessel. " Merrry explained to everyone. Luffy snickered as he saw that the Going Merry bore flags with Merry's insignia on them.

"But now it's going to be yours, sailing through the Grand Line. Treat it well. Shall we have a tour? " Merry asked them.

" Yeah!!!"

The Going Merry had a jib and a central steer rudder. The ship's armaments consisted of four cannons, one in the bow pointing forward, one in the stern, and two pointing to either side.

The crew stepped onto the deck of the ship and was given a tour by Merry. He took them to the meeting Room, Lounge, and Helm which was all in one room.

This is the room with the most functions in the entire ship. It serves as the meeting room, lounge, kitchen and helm.

"The steering pole used to maneuver the ship is located in this room. It has a sheep's head similar to the one used for the ship's figurehead. By tilting the pole left or right, the rudder at the stern will move in that direction." Merry explained. After looking around the room for a few more minutes, the crew split off.

Merry took them to the men's room while Kaya took them to the women's room. The men's room of the Going Merry is located below the deck of the ship right below the mast.

It is accessed through a hatch next to the mast. There are a total of five hammocks located here to sleep on.

There is an emergency exit that connects to the women's room in case something should happen.

The women's room of the Going Merry is located under the storage and cannon deck. It was originally designed by Merry for Kaya's use, resulting in its beautiful and well-decorated design.

The room is accessed through a hatch that leads to the room above. This hatch had a lock.

There is an emergency exit that connects to the men's room located here in case something happens.

They then gathered up at the Bathroom. The bathroom of the Going Merry is located below deck, next to the rudder of the ship.

It is accessed through a door leading to the storage room. This door had curtains for privacy. The bathroom features a shower, a bathtub, a sink, and a toilet.

Merry explained that care must be taken after using the shower. He told them that after cleaning themselves, the crew must make sure to thoroughly clean the bathroom with a rubber wiper in order to prevent the ship from being weakened by moisture.

Luffy made sure to tell Nami to write that down and paste it on the entrance to the bathroom.

The ship is going to be with them for the foreseeable future, if they want to survive, they will have to take very good care of it.

They then arrived at the Storage Room and Cannon Deck(aft) which was also in one room.

The storage room and a cannon deck are located under the lounge of the Going Merry. This is where the crew will keep all their cargo such as beer barrels, water barrels, rations, and treasure boxes in storage.

The room also houses two cannons facing each side of the ship. The bathroom and the women's quarters can be accessed from here.

Some towels can be found next to the bathroom's entrance for when one finishes taking a bath. The hatch going down to the women's quarters had a latch to keep out prying eyes.

The steering shaft that is used to steer the ship can also be seen located above this room.

Lastly, they arrived at the figurehead of the Going Merry. Luffy grinned as he stared at the figurehead. The figurehead of the Going Merry is a sheep. The figurehead is also found on top of the ship's steering pole in the main room.

"I call dibs on it being my favorite seat! No one can steal it!" Luffy grinned at his crew who either chuckled or sighed. Nami was the only one who sighed.

After the tour ended, Luffy looked at Zoro. "Hey, Zoro. Let's go back to the dinghy and grab all of our stuff." Luffy suggested. Zoro nodded and they used Soru to quickly arrive back at the dinghy.

Luffy grabbed the gigantic sack of treasure while Zoro grabbed the gigantic sack full of food. They used Soru to quickly arrive back at the Going Merry.

They set down the sacks on the deck of the ship gently. Luffy quickly ordered his crew to organize them in the storage room. They quickly went to work.

Two weeks have passed since the Kuro and the Black Cat Pirates incident. The activeness outside of the village was only temporary and everything was back to normal again.

Usopp realized that he needed to be serious in his life now if he wanted to survive out in the world, so he worked 2x the amount to catch up with his now crew mates.

Kaya had also joined their training sessions. Luffy gave her an exercise routine for her to follow. It consisted of some light physical training.

She has also been studying acupuncture in the library, she heard from Luffy that stabbing someone's pressure points can disable a part of their body so she became interested.

Zoro was learning how to utilize Tobu Zangeki from Luffy. He was able to do it after a week of extreme training.

Luffy wasn't bothered by his learning speed one bit. When it comes to the art of the katana, Zoro was a super genius and an extremely hard worker.

So now Zoro's main focus is improving his physical strength, his existing sword techniques and Soru.

Nami has been raiding the spacious library of Kaya's mansion. She has been reading navigation book after navigation book.

She has also improved in her bojutsu skills too and has gotten nimbler. Usopp has been improving physically and his aim has gotten better a little.

Luffy got him to start weightlifting. It was Usopp's dream to be able to lift 100 tons one day, so Luffy got him started with some light weights.

He also invented a new attack called Kayaku Boshi(literally meaning 'Gunpowder Star'). It is a highly explosive pellet filled with gunpowder he found in a large box from the storage room in the Going Merry.

And now, it was time for the crew to set off. But they haven't gotten a Jolly Roger yet. Luffy sighed and looked at Usopp who was sitting on the deck and creating some pellets for his Kayaku Boshi attack.

"Usopp! Stop what you're doing for a while, we need to create a Jolly Roger!" Luffy shouted at him. Usopp nodded and put his things down. Everyone sat down and gathered around Usopp who started drawing the Jolly Roger based on Luffy's ideas.

After a while, Usopp smirked proudly at his piece of art. He held up the Jolly Roger of the Straw Hat Pirates proudly.

"Behold! My masterpiece!!" Usopp declared. Everyone was impressed, there were no visible mistakes at the Jolly Roger at all.

The Straw Hat Pirates' Jolly Roger emblem is a cartoon-like depiction of traditional skull and crossbones, with the skull wearing Luffy's trademark straw hat.

Luffy clapped his hands and grinned at Usopp.

"Nice Usopp!! Now let's hang it on the flag pole!!"
